1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gnosis - the decentralized prediction market platform and oracle standard on: November 12, 2017, 06:17:32 PM
I am fascinated by this token concept.  I would like to invest in it, but every time the value seems to establish a floor, it drops again to a newer low!  It would be nice if Gnosis will use their prediction model to forecast the bottom?  Lets see if Gnosis really works.  What is the best entry point in value for GNO?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRIG] TRIG Token - Blocksafe Foundation on: November 04, 2017, 11:12:08 PM
I've been reading some great investment advice on crypto currency.  Three things to look for in a coin/token:

Have a limited supply.  Trig only has 32,000,000 tokens in circulation

Secondly the coin/token must be Secure, Decentralized & Anonymous.  Trig, check , check, & check.

Thirdly, the coin/token needs to solve a problem that Bitcoin does not already solve.  Well that's an obvious one. Bitcoin doesn't provide Smart Gun technology which will benefit local police agencies, making neighborhoods safer places to live, and raise your families in, by reducing illegal gun crime.  Bitcoin doesn't provide a technology that can benefit our military/contractors in the field.  Bitcoin doesn't (directly, arguably) protect our United States Second Amendment Rights, and IMHO will facilitate Nationwide Concealed Carry.

Bottom line, Trig has all of the above attributes that set it apart from other Alt Coins.  Investing in Triggers will be investing the the 'Gas' that powers the system to operate.  I think it would be wise to become an early investor in this token.  It will be followed by Institutional Investors (as if large chunks of tokens already haven't been gobbled up), and the masses are soon to follow as it is adopted.

That's my opinion. Do your own research on their website:

https://www.blocksafefoundation.com/

Especially check out the team assembled to implement the token.  You might also want to consider that they do not have any other competition that I know of at least in the crypto currency sector.

Doing a little more research on Blocksafe tonight.  If you have been to their website  http://smartguns.com/

Check out the resume of this Team Member  https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaelterpin/

This gentleman formed a company in 1994 by listening to reporters complaints about having to retype market information to be published in their respective papers.  He ends up selling it for $35 million & which was later bought by NASDAQ.  Sounds like an innovator and risk taker to me.

So what does he currently do?:

CEO
Terpin Communications, Inc.
January 1990 – Present (27 years 11 months)

Terpin Communications (previously The Terpin Group, prior to 2001 sale to Morgen-Walke/Lighthouse, now Financial Dynamics) was one of the first PR firms to specialize in new media and convergence PR, going back to the earliest days of multimedia and the Web. Our early success stories included the launch of the Motley Fool, America Online Greenhouse and a little three-person company called Earthlink.

The Firm is now a global PR firm specializing in emerging technologies and market entry, with a solid portfolio of Web 2.0 and enterprise software clients. We are interested in finding the next AOLs and EarthLinks and helping them get to the next level (sometimes this involves us investing in them, typically in the form of a bridge loan for services - we were written up in an Inc. Magazine cover story for this successful strategy).

Today, Terpin Communications, Inc., is a sister holding company alongside Transform Group, which is our primary brand.

Something just makes me think this guy might just know what a winner looks like.... you know just a hunch?  Go and check it out for yourself, and as his street cred in crypto is (understatement), pretty dag gone strong....

I have got to meet this Kevin Barnes.  He is my kind of High Tech Redneck LOL!  I found this video doing more research and it fills in a lot of the gaps about Trig I did not know before.  It is built with Counter Party, but I did not know the Lisk side of this.... watching this video puts that piece of the puzzle together on how it is going to work.  Now I thought I had read before that QTUM was involved in Trig development.  If some one knows about that please clarify.  What is amazing is that this video only has 342 views?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1l3gNyP2qs

Another question, if Trig hits adoption (as I hope), how can this also benefit Counter Party, and Lisk?  Who can pull together that angle for me?  My Thanks in Advance, Hodl & can we please dispense with the whining on Trig's price?  Your mother would also like to know when you are going to clean up your room LOL! PS note the price of BTC when this video was made!
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRIG] TRIG Token - Blocksafe Foundation on: October 29, 2017, 02:38:33 AM
Why would you require a major pullback?

It look likes the first base or really support level was established $.45 - $.55
This $.60ish to $.80 range looks like its pretty sustainable especially with the volume over the past three days, (16M tokens or half the supply), so wouldn't we like to know how much of that is Hodl minded investors?  That's my mindset at least, but I bet others are as well.  $22 M market cap at the moment and when you are discussing how huge an impact this can make in just the civilian sector of firearms..... what is the true float now?  It may well be a pretty small one, making the next run up pretty explosive without sellers to be had?

For instance if Trig goes to just $2.62 its market cap would be #64 tonight.  $3.93 moves it to #49, etc.  My point being there is not a ton of supply in relation to other coins/tokens.

I've been going thru coinmarketcap.com and just looking at each coin/token's website. Which ones have a real life application as this one?  There is surely coins for monetary transactions, some gaming tokens, gambling ventures.. EDG looks interesting (btw), GNO has a purpose, QTUM (found that researching Trig actually), and Counter Party as well... SALT has a real application,  OMISEGO is a real company, Walton, BAT, etc., have distinct purposes that seems to assure adoption.

Again, I see this primarily adopted first by police forces, Military/Private Operators, and then for civilians to use on their Concealed Carry Weapons.  This adoption can play out over years, and which current tokens can match Trig?

Wonder how many Funder folks hopped on board as well?

Here is a great interview I pulled off another Bitcoin Forum page.  Blocksafe needs to put more of this out there to sooth the trolls who constantly say Trig is a scam, IMHO.  I am adding more tokens in this pullback, just as I did in the other pull back bagging those tokens for $.50!  The price/volume action witnessed on Bittrex shows very large blocks being accumulated like whales scooping up plankton in the ocean.  They are going to demand a pretty penny when adoptions are announced. This again though is just my MHO.

Kevin Barnes is a military veteran and blockchain developer who saw a problem in nascent “smart gun” technology.

Specifically, this is the disconcerting possibility that government could eventually monitor and control guns remotely. Instead, he hopes to provide an opt-in alternative that would enable gun owners to choose whether they want to make their firearms “smart,” automatically blocking access to unauthorized users.

For example, Blocksafe could be used by police to manage, locate, control, and view activities of their officers’ firearms in real time, 24 hours a day. Firing range instructors could use it to train in safer environments, analyzing shooting patterns and tracking inventory. Any gun owner could use Blocksafe to locate stolen guns, access a real-time count of how many rounds are left in a magazine, and protect themselves from being overpowered.

This solution has received strong interest from blockchain and gun industry leaders, according to Blocksafe, and is currently embarking on a crowdsale to raise a goal of $55,000 USD to build the first phase of this technology.

Interview with Kevin Barnes

Bitcoin.com (BC): What is Blocksafe and what type of blockchain does it use?

Kevin Barnes (KB): Blocksafe is a p2p network that provides the infrastructure for smart devices for firearms. Blocksafe uses lisk +  bittorrent + telehash.

BC: Why not the Bitcoin blockchain?

KB: The [Bitcoin] blockchain is not built to be the foundation of an IOT decentralized solution. We are choosing a foundation that we feel has the features and focus needed as a foundation for an IOT network.

Smart gun lockBC: Can you give an example of how this can be used for a gun smartlock?

KB: When setting up a smart device initially, Bluetooth authentication is setup via the Blocksafe app by the owner and all authorized users are added by the device owner and stored on the local ledger. Authentication method varies upon the device and manufacturer.

Let’s say your smart magazine has one round left and has an authentication feature that enabled rounds to be fed to the chamber. The round count and authentication attempt parameters are stored in real time along with other data that the device owner chooses to be recorded such as date, time, and location using encryption onto the local ledger of the device.

So if the authentication is successful, the magazine would allow the last round to be chambered for the user to discharge the weapon. The authentication attempt and all related activities that the device owner chooses to have recorded are stored on the local ledger.

We must have infrastructure in place dedicated for successful implementation of smart gun technology.
When the device has internet access the ledger is synced to the network and the device owner receives notifications such as push, sms, or email as configured by the owner’s chosen device settings. The data is encrypted via a data key on the network. So, only those who have the data kept from the device owner will be able to view the actual device activity.

BC: Would this system store personal information or would it be pseudonymous and used for messaging, data storage only?

KB: Just pseudonymous and used for messaging, data storage only. This information is encrypted and only available for viewing by those who have the device data key.

BC: Guns are 15 times more likely to be used against a gun owner or accidentally discharged (often by children) than used in self-defense. Would Blocksafe eliminate this risk and would you support making this type of system mandatory for all gun owners?

KB: Yes, the Blocksafe network would greatly reduce those risks, though I do not support making the usage of the network or smart device mandatory. We feel that gun owners globally should be able to keep the liberty to use their firearm as they wish and should not be mandated to use a product or service.

gun controlBC: Regulations are being fiercely debated in America following the Orlando shooting. Do you see “smart gun” technology as a potential solution?

KB: Yes, we see smart gun technology as part of a combined solution. I see an infrastructure to support smart gun technology as the first step to reducing the need of regulations in various areas in the world. We have phone lines in place to create the phone system, faxes, and dial-up internet. We also have towers as an infrastructure for cellular phones. We must have infrastructure in place dedicated for successful implementation of smart gun technology.

BC: What other smart gun technologies are emerging today? What makes your blockchain solution better?

KB: Most technologies we have seen have no real infrastructure behind it keeping them limited in some ways and higher risk in others. Higher rate of hacking or electrical interference is a major issue.

“Smart gun devices are going to be a huge market as gun owners realize they have the liberty to make choices to anonymously make their firearms smart when they want them to be.”
A blockchain network will enable data to be stored and transmitted securely without any centralized risk, downtime, and provide complete privacy. We believe that creating a network for smart devices and firearm manufacturers is an essential first step to provide the infrastructure for these other hardware technologies to improve their product and service to gun owners.

Smart gun devices are going to be a huge market as gun owners realize they have the liberty to make choices to anonymously make their firearms smart when they want them to be. Phones went through a similar evolution as they became smarter. We did not see mandates to use cell phones. Free market and liberty gave customers choices and that is what this is about.

BC: What kind of feedback have you received from gun industry leaders, legislators etc.?

KB: We have received great interest in the network once it is understood. Like anything new, understanding it is the biggest hurdle.

[Blocksafe is] an alternative [against] a centralized, hackable network mandated […] used as a Trojan horse to compromise our human right of defense.
Many fear governments around the globe are itching for smart gun technologies to take over our means of self defense. In essence that is why we are building this network: to create an alternative as quickly as possible to not only enjoy our liberty to use smart gun technology for its huge benefits, but also keep from having a centralized, hackable network mandated and used as a Trojan horse to compromise our human right of defense, while reducing gang violence and saving lives.

FBI PhoneBC: Wouldn’t law enforcement seek to gain access to this database as we’ve seen with Apple?

KB: Being that data transmitted and stored is encrypted via a data key, law enforcement would need owner consent to view encrypted data. No personal information is requested, needed or stored by the network. The data key is multilayer encrypted including a quantum encrypted wrapper on phone and device ledgers, so it will not be easy to gain access to the device’s activities. The device records only information the owner chooses. Since devices can be moved from one firearm to another, it only makes sense for the network to record device activities and that is it.

Now, if a gun manufacturer develops a firearm with built-in Blocksafe support, then the purchasing gun owner will be in control of what information is recorded to the ledger. It is up to the owner to abide by any laws that may arise in the future in their jurisdiction relating to mandatory data inclusion.

Can someone point me to a wallet beside keeping on an exchange. Didn't see anything on website.

Thanks!

A popular one is https://wallet.indiesquare.me

I just got my Ledger Nano S.  Will that be supported in the future?

Nice price action today with Trig.  Maybe those snowflake investors should have just taken advantage of the pullback instead of just pooping in their diapers LOL?

I've been thinking some more on that idea of a pilot project where Trig token holders can use their blockchain and this tech from their partner
http://www.justifire.com/
I don't have a Glock, but I sure can get one LOL!  Personally I carry a wheel gun, because there is no chance of a jam.  Call me old school.

Glock wasn't interested in participating with blocksafe, the founder posted on twitter a few weeks ago. Most likely due to what the NRA did to Smith&Wesson back in 2000.

It appears they are working with cities such as Chicago that would love to deny you the right to carry that wheel gun. Blocksafe even #guncontrol on that post.

Too flippy floppy to earn my trust

So what do you think will happen to the price of tokens if the Chicago Police Dept. adopts the technology?  My argument now is that Illinois/Chicago will not accept my CCH permit from another state, and this tech would make that more likely to happen.  So if they said, OK, only Trig tech smart guns are allowed CCH in Illinois, what is the value of the Trig token?

The real point is those Anti-Gun states will not allow CCH now, or do everything they can to prevent you from getting a permit this tech can open them up to it.  They are not going to do it on their own.

My (amateur) view on the market is that all the Alt coins are really down now.  Clams seems to be the best one I can spot acting like a bull!  Of course I do not have a position LOL! or Cry Out Loud!  What worries me is BTC is rising without a bunch of volume... not a good sign.  I'd like to see BTC pull back just so I can purchase it for buying Alt coins... of course all the Alts take a dump with BTC so watch out what you ask for!

It's a crap shoot, except Wall Street is looking at this and what I fear is the programmed trading eclipsing the every day traders.  That may be at work now with all the Alt Coins basing, or lower, and BTC nearing the all time high again.  Some of these Alt coins are serious platforms for building businesses around.  QTUM which Trig uses is a great example.  I like Ark, Ten X, Gnosis, Bancor, etc.

I threw some $$ at SALT, and watch it tank LOL!  I am down well over 20% there, but those cats have a good business plan.  I don't think you can lose buying Ripple on the dips... I sold my small position in Ripple at a profit last night to scoop up about 800 shares of Trig... but I was a tad high in that trade as I bought above Trigs bottom.  I had a reserve of BTC which I threw at the bottom, well or near it.

I am just trying to avoid the chaff of coins/tokens that have no useful purpose (that I can see), and concentrate on ones that have potential as being adopted into Main Stream Business. Neo or Walton come to mind with that, but I do not have a position in them.  Sys Coin is on my radar, and Nexus seems to have a lot of community, and purpose.  I like the fact you can mine Nexus with a CPU or Nvidia graphics card which I am exploring.  I am kinda thinking about a Genesis contract.  It seems to be a good play if Crypto in general takes a dump, while the big boys move in and trade everything sideways until they dominate the movement of the market.

Who knows, but it seems you can watch the charts for price and volume get a good position and wait for a run up to grab a little profit?  I mean how is this different than stocks?  Stocks unless they pay a dividend are worthless, except people reason, oh I will buy x at $L... but I will not buy X at $Z, oh that is too expensive because I can not see it going higher than $Z.  Reason being the investor expects x at $L to go to X at $z.  If that makes sense.  For the Love of His Holiness.... buying Tesla (which I love Musk's vision), you have got to really believe $360 or whatever it is at now is going to $400?  Eventually yes, but..

I like stocks, and tokens/coins that are innovative, and make sense for adoption.  When I first started in stocks, I lucked out and bought Taser....  It shot up from $20's to 40's in like two weeks... every smart ass and his brother shorted it... well Taser was adopted by more and more police agencies in the USA as the weeks played on, and it created a Short Squeeze that sent it into the 70's or so...  Dear Lord I was opening my account and watching it grow $1,000 a day!  They only had like 9 million shares outstanding or something ridiculous amount like that.

How many Trig tokens are there, and it's finite now!  True story.  I went on a snowboarding trip overseas.  Getting to know one another over drinks, I knew one fellow was from NYC, and I asked him what he did for a living.  He said, he was a day trader.  I say yeah, I have a cash account I play with, and I got lucky and bought Taser.  He looks at me, raises his glass and says TAAAAAAZZZZE the Day!  We laughed our asses off over that! I was moving $, he was moving $$$.

Hey man, it's all relative....  It's Master Card, Visa, Discover, and American Express that fear this block chain.... they either adopt or they die!  I wouldn't buy any of their stocks until they adopt block chain technology...the first one that does, I will swoop in like a hawk on a mouse out in the open LOL!  Time to keep or eyes, and ears open, and our powder dry.....

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRIG] TRIG Token - Blocksafe Foundation on: October 10, 2017, 01:40:25 AM
Well that was interesting..  Trig found its support. The lowest I saw was $.43 before the Asks finally figured out the guys on the bid side were just playing them for suckers!

Anyhow, when that worm finally turned, I increased my position to 3,900 +, and lowered my basis from just under $1 to $.78.  So I am still down, but I ain't crying LOL!  IMHO the market is just going to do it's thing over the next couple weeks awaiting further news, and values can lower as I am sure with all that blood in the water last night, plenty of folks made thousands last night that normally wouldn't have looked at Trig as an investment?

Let's all hope the development team the best of luck bringing their product to market, and supporting/increasing the value of the tokens!  I would like to see them throw out a pilot project for current Trig Token owners to purchase their prototype smart guns, and use them for carry.  That would add value to the tokens right there, and show adoption.  I know that's just another project as they have plenty on their plate, but it sure would be a fast track to adoption for CCH.

Dude They are sitting on a Gold Mine!  Now Higher Education, that's a real Scam, but that is another topic!  It looks like the Bids on Bittrex are not finding as many (Ask) suckers now LOL!  Looks like it is getting support in the $.47 range....
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRIG] TRIG Token - Blocksafe Foundation on: October 09, 2017, 12:42:03 AM
An aside on the trading.  Trig took it's first big run up 8-17-17 to $.46.5 (check out Tradingview.com as they are covering Alt Coins now), and magically Trig is finding support there?  That may well tell the tale on this price/action.  I added another 800 + an hour ago.  Lowered my basis quite a lot.  Maybe there is a Santa Claus LOL?
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRIG] TRIG Token - Blocksafe Foundation on: October 09, 2017, 12:30:24 AM
What's happening in the Bid-Ask on Bittrex is pretty obvious.

I Love this technology, (as I explained earlier on many levels), but what intrigues me most is the benefit for Concealed Carry Holders.  The NRA and Gun owners like myself are very skeptical of any tactics to curtail the Second Amendment.  I am not interested in using this for my rifles as it is not necessary, but for the weapon I carry on a daily basis, or have with me locked in my vehicle the advantages are huge!  This can well enable Nationwide Carry as it will make those weapons kept on your person much safer.  If they are stolen they can be tracked.  If God Forbid you fire it in self defense, all of the data is spread thru every other CCH in the blockchain who utilizes it.  That is huge when you have to defend yourself in court!  I see this as game changing technology for hand guns made for Concealed Carry.

The NRA will adopt a wait and see attitude IMHO though.

Police Departments will be the first to implement the technology IMHO, and that will drive the value.  I also think SOCOM will want to have this technology as it will help them fight and survive on the battlefield.  You link in this blockchain software to the drones following the Teams in the field, and you will have constant connection to resupply of their ammo.  If SOCOM does adopt, it's Katie Bar the Door!  If the NRA sees this for the value it brings to CCH, how many CCH are there nationwide?  12.8 million according to this article:
https://crimeresearch.org/2015/07/new-study-over-12-8-concealed-handgun-permits-last-year-saw-by-far-the-largest-increase-ever-in-the-number-of-permits/

That's a pretty big market!  If you just had individual states adopting the technology?

Trig isnt for quick profit. Shut down your computer and see the big rise in december.

Trig isn't for any profit, just losses.

Really?  Log into Bittrex and watch the Bid - Ask...

Buyers moving in with orders for 9,200, 16,692, 16,316, 54,081, 32,000 tokens.  Just in the first 5 pages.  Eating up the weak holders.  Now for folks who don't get it.  They are buying in the $.48/.49 cent range.  I'd say those are rather large players looking to make a profit?  That's ignoring all the orders for hundreds of tokens.
