Avalon sample chip received by a miner developer team in China,

Not sure it's the same one Jimmy mentioned.

depends on delivery area.
Googled?
No, I think not. There are plenty of other non-answer threads

des kommt von den 2 threads  Cheesy

*lol* Ill fix it...
Regarding EMS... i used it judging from the experiences of avalon miner receivers. If its better to use DHL then ill try to change this.

Yes, open another thread

Crazy that a company is able to accept $100,000 but give no customer service.

Its a bit strange indeed... they deliver... but not speaking with customers to solve problems is a bit hard...

Considering they are the only *real* asic seller on the market, they can do whatever they want Undecided

Something is definitely wrong with batch 2. Sad

This order is 36 position after our batch 2 and its status is already "processing":

Quote
Order #10317 made on May 22, 2013. Order status: processing.

Source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=189582.msg2236233#msg2236233

it seems that way, looks like all other chip order went to this address, and their are worth 70 orders of BTC sitting their!

Code:
1FGAftzSTztFSB8LMwsrdCKTyqGY6zr3sU

but batch2 order went to a different address:

Code:
1ECoeDfK79CNm1Mzx6NMMkZrHVocwNg6Sp

might be their payment system glitch?

Sum:   1065 Chips/ 8935 open

I just don't quite understand about something about these orders, some ppl are ordering chips but not in 10 chips incremental, my understanding is the design is 10 chip/20chip PCB, so is the design actually flexible or we'll need to order  some extra in case some chips don't work?

Some people think about using different designs. There are 1, 8, 10, 16, 20, 32, 64, 256 and 384 chip designs running in the wild right now i can tell right now from my head. I think the 20 is good for most people and the 64 and 256 are for people that bought thousands of chips Cheesy

OK, good to know we still got other options, thanks for the explanations :-)

16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: World War III and BTC on: May 18, 2013, 05:50:02 AM
Right now there is a lot possible starting point of world war III.
1..Japan and China >sinkaku islands,  rich in oil and gas.

Possible, but not likely.
The costs are to high compared to the possible effect of such actions.

Quote
2. China & Taiwan and Philippines> panatag shoal and spartly islands both rich in oil and gas, Us will be drag because of mutual defense treaty.
Meh

China has more to gain from stability in the region, even though they may show some strength and be disruptive.

Quote
3.NorthKorea, its brewing. In times of war 90 percent possibility china will help north korea.
Meh.

NK might do something stupid. (Which is not helped by US's confronting line -NK is like an attention seeking child and US plays along instead of being the sensible one at the sideline.)
But I doubt China will step in except as negotiators.
I think China sees NK as a loose cannon and not like something worth defending too much.

Quote
4. If Israel attacks Iran. US and Russia possible china will be drag  to war because its one of their biggest oil supplier.

Meh.
Doubt Israel will do any first attack, they have enough problems as it is, and Iran knows that US will step in if they attack.
If there were to become a conflict, russia might support with equipment, but they will get a deal to get their oil anyways.
Don't think US would risk being tangled up in another war if they can avoid it.

Quote
5. Syria. If Israel attacks Syria. Russia and US will be drag to war.

Meh.
Israel has nothing to win by this, and Syria does not have a proper rule ATM.
Would not be too surprised if there were some border-attacks by Syrian warlords though. But not something that is likely to escalate.

Remember that China own a huge amount of US debt. If they wanted to hurt the US, they would simply sell their debt and collapse the dollar. They could also stop export to US. This would hurt both nations. But China could still export to europe knowing that a lot of the export would be resold to the US, but then at a higher price which would hurt US more.

I think the current world power balance are pretty stable, too stable for something like WWIII, things going on in south china sea would be nothing bigger than a conflict at the worst. and most likely it would never happen. And China would never risk everything to support NK b/c that's against it's best interest
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much have newbie Mhs/Khs? on: May 18, 2013, 05:33:45 AM
Getting almost 800Mhs from a 5970 I bought for $120. Already made my money back!

That's a serious result for a 5970. What temps and settings if you don't mind me asking?

Running it on 840 engine, 200 Memory, I think I also have it slightly overvolted. Running in my basement which is pretty cold so no problem keeping temps below 80 without having fan run too loud.

engine 840, wow, wondering what voltage can support that high,1200?
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which exchanges do you trust and do not trust? on: May 18, 2013, 05:25:40 AM
Mostly using MTgox and BTC-e, and BTC-e is the only place i know that can trade alt-coins.
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Offering PayPal for Bitcoin? You're likely to be labeled a scammer - Read why on: May 18, 2013, 05:22:46 AM
Isn't the risk of buying bitcoins with paypal the same risk as buying anything else with paypal?  What is considered to be the safest way to do this other than going to someone in person and making sure you get the cash in hand?

It's not the risk of buying bitcoins with paypal - it's the risk of selling bitcoins for paypal.  Example:  you sell me 1 bitcoin and I buy it by paying you $100 thru paypal.  Once I receive the bitcoin from you I file a dispute on paypal.  Paypal reverses the transaction and gives me back my $100.  Now I have 1 Bitcoin I didn't have to start with, and my $100 in my paypal account.  You on the other hand have lost 1 bitcoin and have no additional money in paypal.

using Paypal for a while, never noticed there's such a policy, thanks for reminding everyone here!
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: May 18, 2013, 05:06:12 AM

Most Alt coins are completely pointless and just poor replicas of what's already out there with little to no improvement.

The second quotation explains why, very few actually do something new.  Most coins are just a slight tweak of BTC or LTC then a new name is given to it.

As long as you can trade across the digital currencies, they're all basically an extension of Bitcoin. Notice how Bitcoin dropped $40 right after Feathercoin moved onto exchanges for trading? Alt currencies are a slick way to dilute Bitcoin.

a lot of ppl mine alt-coin just to trade for BTC, that's true, and sometime that makes more money than mining BITcoin itself, that way ppl hopping around for alt-coin.
