1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] KRAKEN.COM - Exchange Now Open with USD, EUR, BTC, LTC, XRP, NMC, XDG on: February 26, 2014, 09:08:05 PM
I wrote up a python class for trading on Kraken,  I've been using it for a few months.

No documentation sorry Sad

https://github.com/matuszed/kraken/

What was wrong with the existing one? https://github.com/veox/krakenex

See https://www.kraken.com/help/api#example-api-code-python

Nothing it just didn't exist when I wrote mine, glad to see there's other options though.

There was a lot of nonsense that happened on a lot of exchanges today that really dropped the ball, Kraken was not one of them, perfectly uninterrupted trading.

There is no way you're serious.. you have got to be trolling

OK well you explain the difference then. The gap between the exchanges has never been anywhere near this narrow. That is a fact.

Not true.  During the second ipo they were both at .0025 :p

No but seriously I watch this stock a lot the spread has fluctuated between 5-50% so it moves a lot
12  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread on: September 16, 2013, 01:27:49 PM
You guys cant be serious saying that the 40% spread narrowing is some kind of price manipulation
13  Economy / Securities / Re: ActiveMining Overview and Speculation Thread on: September 13, 2013, 07:54:40 PM
Out of interest, does anyone have a counter argument to this? Will HashFast destroy us?

In my view, there isn't going to be only one profitable company. There will likely be several.

I think by definition bitcoin will crumble if there is only one winner

This is actually really slick

Lotta hate going around about this "insider trading issue."  First off if you didn't notice were in BTC land so its not like SEC jurisdiction matter but if we use them for a guide this is what it states.

Insiders trade stock  a LOT. A lot of higher ups have a substantial portion of their net worth in the underlying equity for the company they work for.  That being said when insiders trade large blocks of stock they have to submit a form with the SEC which can be found on edgar http://www.sec.gov/edgar.shtml .  If you look through some popular companies there are a lot of these kind of filings.  Since edgar is hard to manage Yahoo has an aggregated one and here is insider transactions for MSFT http://finance.yahoo.com/q/it?s=MSFT .  You'll see a lot of gates on there obviously.

What ken did by buying shares would not be illegal in the real world he would just have to file his actions with the sec which he obviously cant do in BTC land.  What would be considered illegal would be if ken knew that ACTM was purchasing LC for example, im making this up, and bought up tons of shares of LC before the news was public.

All this being said it is usually considered a bullish bet that if the CEO is buying shares that he believes the company is mispriced and cheap
16  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread on: September 12, 2013, 07:07:11 PM
ACTM at .0029 ...fuck

begin rant:

I have held my tongue long enough. I am fed up with Ken's inept sense of decent communication (beyond a few grunts here and there) and his awful sense of design and marketing. That logo is third rate at best. If that bloody awful site is doing so goddamn well; WHERE ARE THE FUCKING NUMBERS?! As funders (I won't call us shareholders anymore for obvious reasons) of this little experimental venture we have a right to know.

At this point, my FUD is that ACTM will not gain momentum again because of competition and difficulty AND the fact that for whatever reason, Ken refuses to do trade magazine type PR to get the word out AND and to tell us current state of progress. I am frustrated that Actm and vmc are never even mentioned in the news the way other companies are. At this point Ken may have funded and built his company for free off our backs. It doesn't seem to matter to Ken if the stock evaporates. He doesn't own any. So frustrated right now. All Ken (or someone in the know) has to do is tell us and the world what progress he is making. But day after day it's silence and the confidence drizzles away to nothing as he seems too socially inept to know how to communicate.

Unless no news really is bad news.

end rant.

+ 10

As a matter of fact, I have purchase a number of shares on the open market.  I am also purchasing shares how for my own account.  We will be releasing P&L for this quarter by the end of October.

The Buyback.
