1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: September 12, 2014, 01:15:14 PM
Slush always has consistent luck, about 6 blocks a day average. I think they got DDOS'd yesterday. They payouts are increasing back up to normal.
DDoS attack sounds like a good explanation to me. Very strange when I saw that happen (and one of my S1's had a best share of around 453,xxxx,xxxx).
Anyhow, I have to see out my shift on the P2Pool node I switched to, plus that jump from 6PH to 9PH on the pool will definitely reduce my earnings .... so will see when we are done here.

p2pool is the right move; using is own p2pool node gets all the advantages of local mining, with the huge hashrate of all nodes.

My shipment is still at the DHL  'Clearance event' state (Further Detail: Clearance is pending as the shipment will be cleared by the importer's designated external Broker).

Do you know why this stage is so long? Is this someone involved as stated in 'further details'?
3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: September 11, 2014, 12:52:13 AM
My order is not yet shipped - But I hope it will be ready Thursday. This early shipment is a very good news.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Darkcoin - Will it rise again? on: September 04, 2014, 10:23:17 AM
This thread gives some insights - After reading all of this, do you consider Darkcoin as trustworthy or doubtful? Anyway the most doubtful coin can be a very interesting short term investment.

When we look at the alternates market now; we have a lot to loose, the prosperity of scams is just a death sentence to alternates.
5  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: September 03, 2014, 10:00:54 PM

Hi,
We would honor the promise of earlier shipping than Sept. 20th  Grin Grin Grin Grin

Great news!
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Darkcoin - Will it rise again? on: September 03, 2014, 06:20:19 PM
Darkcoin was a scam that ran its course

It's over now now and no where to go but down

Many other coins that are going up right now.

No need to beat a dead horse.

Move on guys, have you been in crypto for more than a few weeks?

Do you not know how this works. People also realized that this was not even close to the first anon coin, then theres the 2 mill, ok Im done here

You are right; Darkcoin is only the most successful alternate 2014 scam: This thread summary well what developers and others have done: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=754521.0  and this article: http://www.cryptobang.com/2014/08/27/investigation-of-darkcoin/ There are too many issues with this coin to be only a 'novice' developer mistake; All the issues were set on purpose, and added from a fork of the proper, non faulty and well designed 'litecoin' source code.

These pump and dump, and other better structured scam coins, only kill the trust of investors and miners; We may just hope that the trust will be back one day. But anyway the trust will never come back if these scam coins are still around.  'Ejecting' these bad coins is a goal by itself for the sake of alternates.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Vertcoin Updating PoW Algorithm on: September 03, 2014, 05:09:15 PM
Before any update - Getting, an optimal GPU miner is the main step to ensure a fair move. We must also check sgminer on the 'testnet' network before any transition.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple or Bitcoin on: September 03, 2014, 04:56:00 PM
The development is still going and in my opinion Ripple will be placed side by side with bitcoins soon.

We must have trusty alternates. Ripple is a 100% premined coin. The optimal value for a 100% premined coin like this one: 1XRP at $0 maximum.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What altcoin should i invest in? on: September 03, 2014, 04:48:35 PM
Ripple has a great future even if it isn't very popular in this forum, you should invest in it.

Ripple is 100% premined. This is, indeed, a very good deal for the premined owner (money for nothing...).
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What altcoin should i invest in? on: September 03, 2014, 04:40:29 PM
Darkcoin and Hypercoin.

Darkcoin has a lot of scam features; and was just a short term 'investment'; Doge is fair and may growth again on a long term perspective. Indeed 2013 coins and before may have a great new life, most of them are scam 'improvement' free (premined, instamined, masternode implementation, IPO/ICO and so on...); But anyway I doubt that many 2014 coins will stay in our memories; Indeed a lot of 2014 coins, and some exchanges, are involved with what happened: a trust issue with investors and miners.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Crypto Currency FRANKO [w/ OPENSOURCE FRK ATM!][NEW WEBSITE Design] on: August 31, 2014, 01:20:02 AM
I guess I will have to get my BreadCrumbs activated.  Wink

That looks like awesome hardware! But he said the protocol is proprietary Sad

Franko is still very strong; And well supported!
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Extremecoin.org (EXC) BBQcoin.org (BQC) (Omega6) Updates on: August 31, 2014, 01:15:49 AM
Has EXC now swapped to PoS?

Not yet, but this will be done.

Is there a rough date for the switch yet?

I hope it will be there soon.

A change that I'm waiting for.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Extremecoin (EXC) - MANDATORY UPGRADE VERSION 1.5 (Kimoto Gravity Well) on: August 31, 2014, 01:13:46 AM

Great! We have only few fair coins like this one.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Darkcoin scam on: August 27, 2014, 09:52:01 PM
The instamine. The masternode implementation with the 20% steal of POW blocks. This is a concern. Anyway we can be sure that these features describe in the official 'thread' as innovation are driven by a scam goal.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Extremecoin (EXC) - MANDATORY UPGRADE VERSION 1.5 (Kimoto Gravity Well) on: August 25, 2014, 10:23:24 PM
I have moved quiet a bit of my cold storage commodities (Platinum, Gold and Silver) to raise the capital needed to get Extremecoin where it deserves to be.

A coin with a fair launch, two months worth of a 200 block reward, of which I mined like everybody else and then the drop to a 1 coin block reward, the reason being is that only dedicated supporters of EXC and others invested in Extremecoin would mine.

IMO for POW coins, mining should not be for profit but for EXC's network security, that should be a miners main priority, to help secure the coins that they already have.

This is the main reason that I find Auto-profit pools detrimental, this then makes mining just all about making profit and at the same time getting good but smaller coins stuck at high difficulty levels.

You can quote me on this:

"Extremecoin will only be profitable for the dedicated; The individuals who support it and help to secure, protect and expand its goals, in the present and for the future, as only then can we truly make a difference."

All of my focus and my efforts are going to be dedicated to Extremecoin from this point onwards.

The Extremecoin supporter forum will be online in a matter of days so we can all understand the short and long term goals of this long standing Crypto-Currency.

If anyone would like to help support this coin with services then please use the contact form on the website which is almost ready for the theme and content update.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this post.

Extremecoin had a fair launch, now this is a good move.

17  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 25, 2014, 01:42:55 PM
The SP31 does 5.5TH/s at 3000W = 0.545454 W/GH.
If you look at the other thread the definitive hashrate may be lower. We have to wait and see...

Just searched for "SP31" but could not find any other thread mentioning anything about the SP31 possibly getting rated lower than 5.5 TH/s. So which thread/posting do you mean?

EDIT: @RoadStress already answered that one, there is no thread about the SP31 possibly getting rated lower, all previous info was about the SP30 only.

Here it is, below, and there are more... Anyway we have not reason to  have doubts...
... There is also a chance that the SP31 performs like SP30 should have at ~6.6TH but I'd guess it's more likely it ends up closer to 4.5TH ...
Our commitment and guarantee is for 5.5 TH/s +- 5% with 3KW at the wall. It will probably preform better with the production tweaking we're doing.
By guarantee I mean that we'll compensate for missing hash-rate by the $/GHs ratio of the deal.
Isn't that what you guys said for the slow corner batch as well, what was that compensation offer I forgot, oh wait no one knows yet. Talk is cheap, actions speak louder than words. This commitment should be stated upfront with the details of what the compensation would be. Your track record hasn't been great taking into consideration the SP10 slow corners and now the SP30 slow corners.

If you notice there are spikes about half way through every round then it settles at a certain point. I wonder why this is? Anyways Bitmain will have to come down in price since the release date is 2+ diff increases away.

someone figured out that he will make more btc if he turns off his big mine for 2~3 days.

those 2~3 days offline are a good trade off, because the difficulty for the next two week should be somewhat lower.

Is this Bitfury and their 20MW farms?
19  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 25, 2014, 10:29:28 AM

The SP31 does 5.5TH/s at 3000W = 0.545454 W/GH.

Shipping in the second half of October.

If you look at the other thread the definitive hashrate may be lower. We have to wait and see...

With the current price of 0.58 BTC for Batch 8 Delivery on 9/20/14, and given their minimum quantity of 2 Units, recouping your money = Impossible. (Almost)

Factor:

(2) S3+ Units at .58 BTC          1.16 BTC = $585.00 USD
(1) Corsair 850w PSU                                $140.00 USD

TOTAL HARDWARE:   $725

Now, IF you are lucky enough to have power at a rate of 0.08 kW/hr (unlikely); and

IF Bitcoin difficulty only rose 11% per increase for the next 3 years, never more, (highly unlikely), and

IF you are lucky enough to get units that hash at the full OverClocked speed of 500 GHash; and

IF you are lucky enough, to within that 3 years, not have 1 single technical issue, pool outage, internet issue, power failure, hardware failure, and so on; it can be assumed

You will have made back your initial investment, and broke EVEN, on April 18, 2017.

Strato

I've bought two of these B8 units considering I will need heat this winter, and I already have a 1.2kW PSU that I don't use anymore. But you are right ROI is unlikely.

I hope Bitmain will sent them earlier. Please Bitmain.
