So all of a sudden the Net hash has started to drop pretty fast.  I really hope it wasn't bitmain using the s3's that long.  I understand testing them, but that would have gone beyond testing imo.

I bet why the net hash is dropping is something else, just wonder what it is.

2 weeks of testing would have been a huge percent of an s3's roi.

hoping it'll stay at 16M ghs for this week
so the next diff wont scare the miners  Cheesy

If you notice there are spikes about half way through every round then it settles at a certain point. I wonder why this is? Anyways Bitmain will have to come down in price since the release date is 2+ diff increases away.

So new Hashra 2 TH for 875.00 same ship date as s3's.Sept 20 Competion going to finally force bitmain to give a more reasonable price? As it stand the current s3 price would have been ok if they were in stock and shipping last week.

May look interesting on first sight, but their units have a worse W/GH ratio and not having free energy that's pretty much all that matters. Right now the SP31 (0.55 W/GH) seems be the best you cat get in the foreseeable future, followed by Bitmaintech hardware (S3+ 0.78 W/GH, S3+ OC 0.80 W/GH).

What do you think about the Hashra 1TH version for 445.00 ?

It's still 0.9W per GH/s. Also don't forget the $125 shipping cost (yes, that's Hashra's favorite trick).

Yeah, shipping is a factor as well ( good point ) the efficiency is not the best on the market but the price is right.

Everything is situational.  Someone in Washington paying .03/kwh is probably not as concerned with a slight power consumption increase as someone paying .30/kwh.

.55w/gh at what hash rate?

The SP31 does 5.5TH/s at 3000W = 0.545454 W/GH.

With the current price of 0.58 BTC for Batch 8 Delivery on 9/20/14, and given their minimum quantity of 2 Units, recouping your money = Impossible. (Almost)

Factor:

(2) S3+ Units at .58 BTC          1.16 BTC = $585.00 USD
(1) Corsair 850w PSU                                $140.00 USD

TOTAL HARDWARE:   $725

Now, IF you are lucky enough to have power at a rate of 0.08 kW/hr (unlikely); and

IF Bitcoin difficulty only rose 11% per increase for the next 3 years, never more, (highly unlikely), and

IF you are lucky enough to get units that hash at the full OverClocked speed of 500 GHash; and

IF you are lucky enough, to within that 3 years, not have 1 single technical issue, pool outage, internet issue, power failure, hardware failure, and so on; it can be assumed

You will have made back your initial investment, and broke EVEN, on April 18, 2017.

I've bought two of these B8 units considering I will need heat this winter, and I already have a 1.2kW PSU that I don't use anymore. But you are right ROI is unlikely.

I hope Bitmain will sent them earlier. Please Bitmain.

someone figured out that he will make more btc if he turns off his big mine for 2~3 days.

those 2~3 days offline are a good trade off, because the difficulty for the next two week should be somewhat lower.

If you look at the other thread the definitive hashrate may be lower. We have to wait and see...

That myth has been debunked by simple math.  Regardless of what pool payment method (PPS, PPLNS, etc) it is never feasible to hold back hashing power to earn more - unless you're 100% of the hashrate.

The instability of GHash and its inability to keep their pool online probably has some bearing.

yes, I was referring to ASIC producers that are solo mining and selling devices to the general public.

You are wrong here. The hashrate was lower for pre-October units. From October onwards the SP31 will have 5.5Th/s.
