1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] VIVO - Masternodes, ASIC-Resistant, Secure, High MN Rewards, Decentralized on: September 02, 2020, 08:30:20 PM

"This coin is fine like your on-time answer here. Vivo is delisted from almost all services, exchanges...
price of 1 satoshi, means there is no lower unit, so this is the bottom. Once or two times, few people write something on the Discord server and it is all activity from this coin."

Agreed, it's not in good condition price-wise, but it is fine in terms of operation

Seed nodes
Explorer
website

In fact, I think the website just got revamped. It looks way better on mobile now.

I meant the back end is fine. The Dev is there, has not left although hasn't made many changes since the last build.

Both the mining and Masternodes are there.

As far as creating excitement for use and discussion, a jump start is necessary.

But the commitment of the Dev is to remain no matter what until a feasible idea comes along. And the proof is in the pudding.

A lot of coins have died, especially in swaps. People have no opportunity to do anything with their wallets.
Vivocoin does not look like it is going the swap route, the coins are functional and the masternodes are pretty smooth and there seems to be a commitment. They indicate that the cost of maintenance is low so it will go on forever.

As far as price goes, your guess is as good as any. Although 1 dollar can buy a lot of vivo at that price and if a move is made by the Dev, doubling or more is easy at this price.
Kind of a low-risk investment if a person has Doge.

Bitcoin transaction cost may be high

Is there a list of nodes for synchronization?
A lot of links not work, what news is the developer here?
what does the community think about the coin?

The coin is fine, many others have died with the developer gone.
This one hangs on.
But the price is low

The website is actually
https://vivocoin.net/

The boostrap and links to github etc are all there

Definitely not abandoned. There is a need for regular mining. The big miners are not regular and cause problems.

I have a very bad experience with this gift payment so I'll never advise you to do anything with PayPal that I lost my 2 btc.

Are you able to share what problem you saw?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] VIVO - Masternodes, ASIC-Resistant, Secure, High MN Rewards, Decentralized on: July 12, 2019, 07:12:15 PM
thanks devs, but you should tell people which version to use...

vivocore-0.12.17-win64-setup.exe   OR   vivocore-0.12.1.17-win64-setupa.exe

difference?

2 versions? 0.12.17 and 0.12.1.17...

just tell which one I should use. Thanks.

If you don't have a windows masternode use:
vivocore-0.12.17-win64-setup.exe

does not include vivod.exe. Most people don't use it so works for most.

Otherwise, some will use vivod.exe, in that case you have to use:

vivocore-0.12.17-win64-setupa.exe
includes vivod.exe and will work for anyone.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Did the MCT PLUS coin marketplace go away? on: July 08, 2019, 08:17:14 PM
I think this coin is dead and buried.  They had a "hack" a couple of months ago and lost a bunch of money.  They "claim" one of their Dev's left a laptop open and unattended at a public location, which was logged into their site, and someone walked up and made off with a bunch of BTC and other funds.  Some claim it was an inside job but I don't really know the facts, just what was posted on Discord before they shut it down.  They claimed they were in the process of refunding stolen funds.  However, they seem to have totally disappeared now.  My guess, and it is just a guess, they were in too deep to refund the money, closed shop and left town.  Too bad.  I have thousands of MCT coins and was getting some decent POS rewards.  The coin was pretty much worthless though.  It wasn't being traded on any exchange.  Would be nice if they came back, but when a coin just abruptly goes dark like this one did, it is probably another coin for the "what ever happened to" file.

But how does one see these signs before it happens? Many trades went through and it seemed like it was developed to be easy, like some developer actually worked to create a decent product. Suddenly its gone.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Did the MCT PLUS coin marketplace go away? on: July 04, 2019, 11:32:11 PM
No more discord, the bitcoin talk thread does not take replies, and not twitter, no website.
Does anyone know what happened?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What coins have successfully changed their mining algorithm? on: July 02, 2019, 05:30:05 PM
There are many coins which have in the past.

The most popular and recent one I can think of is Monero. They basically use the Cryptonite algo and due to the threat of ASICs and FGPA they had to fork to a slightly different algo about 2-3 times already. First it was the original Cryptonite algo, then Cryptonite V7, Cryptonite V8, and now its Cryptonite R. And from what I read they will change this algo every 6 months or so to defeat ASICS.

There are some smaller coins like Bitcoin Gold which switched from Equihash to a different variant of Equihash to make it mineable with GPUs but not with the ASICS which are all over ZEC.

So, a block so and so, the algo changes and miners adjust. Seems very simple so I wonder about complications.
I wonder about some coins getting stuck, maybe forever.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin Bullrun on: July 01, 2019, 12:06:03 AM
Most Masternode/Dash Clone coins are not doing that well.
They did well the last bull run.
Something has changed.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / What coins have successfully changed their mining algorithm? on: June 30, 2019, 02:45:58 PM
My question is about coins that have changed their algorithm midstream, they had one and then changed.
Not necessarily from POW to POS,  but from one type of POW to another.
In the case of the neoscrypt, that is of interest because of the varying block times.

Changing the algo programatically seems easy, but coordinating with Hodlers and mining pools seems a huge issue. Unless it is not.
Trying to find out.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: How can a new exchange, assure investors that it is not a scammer? on: June 28, 2019, 11:15:29 PM
Nice question if the exchange has reputable people and known by the community, I think that's one good factor to know that they are sure with what they are doing. I know you are worried with those exchanges that are just coming like mushroom.

They will pop and soon they will be gone. You will later notice that the new exchanges are sure with their operation if there are many users and volume is good on them.

Yes, but how do you know which is a mushroom. (Well, maybe not know, but suspect)
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How does one confirm a 51% attack and how to repair the damage? on: June 28, 2019, 07:22:59 AM
Wondering if there are services that watch for this eventuality?
Or perhaps some code that checks it.
But after the fact, when the attack has happened, how does one decide on a rollback?
To what does one rollback too? And what does that mean exactly?
Telling the exchange to modify the blockchain or giving them a bootstrap?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / How can a new exchange, assure investors that it is not a scammer? on: June 28, 2019, 04:37:27 AM
I someone starts an exchange, or if someone wants to use a new exchange, the fear is that it is an exit scam.
Well, one way to prove it is not is to have collateral in escrow.
Or some government assurance, or some insurance company assurance.

But, that is way too expensive and difficult.
And in the cryptomarket, KYC is not that attractive.

So how can an exchange demonstrate the fact that it is trustworthy?
14  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: AML/KYC Explained on: June 24, 2019, 07:00:56 PM
It's not just cash deposits/withdrawals. Any combination of transactions reaching or exceeding 10.000 USD within 48 hours can/will be reported. This includes the EURO zone (SEPA) where a copy of each bank transaction is send to the US for analyses. So details of a bank transfer from Italy to Spain, or even within the same city between your family members is send over to the US. It depends on your risk profile if you get into trouble or not.

Also single person business owners (non-limited companies) also fall under that rule.

Where is this rule? 48 hours or 24 hours? I ask because I thought it was 24 hours.
With 48 hours it implies it accumulates, 2 10k deals in two days would be reported.
15  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the best way to trade without KYC on: June 23, 2019, 06:14:08 AM
Are there any decent exchanges for US customers that don't need KYC? Or any foreign exchanges that I can VPN to? I have KYC on Bittrex and that's enough. I ditched Polo when they started asking for KYC

CriptoBridge you can use a VPN and say you are not a US citizen. I have heard Binance too.
16  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the best way to trade without KYC on: June 21, 2019, 02:23:38 AM
You can trade almost most of the exchange without KYC, it's needed only for trading big amount. I have been trading in several exchanges without KYC and faced no problem till date.
However you can't trade on bittrex if you didn't do KYC. You will have 0 btc withdraw limit if you don't do KYC on there
Other top exchange like Binance, Kucoin allow users to withdraw without KYC and I think the amount is not that much lower as well. I have been using all the exchange without any KYC.

When you say all exchanges, is that the two you mentioned or more? (Binance, Kucoin )
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] VIVO - Masternodes, ASIC-Resistant, Secure, High MN Rewards, Decentralized on: June 19, 2019, 03:58:29 AM
Is bitcointalk the best forum for Vivocoin related talk?

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Anyone know of a service that provides android and ios wallets for your altcoin on: June 17, 2019, 06:34:28 AM
For a Dash based altcoin, who can create and maintain mobile wallets?
I could probably build one but supporting and maintaining seems a little much.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Anyone know of a book on how a Masternode network works on: June 15, 2019, 05:04:20 AM
Yes, the source code exists, but it takes a long time to imagine the whole interaction.
The ranking, the governance concepts, and then the standard mining Pos or Pos.
Everything in one book.
I have not seen it.
20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the best way to trade without KYC on: June 15, 2019, 04:58:44 AM
By best, I mean good in any way like reliability, speed, convenience.
Sometimes an escrow may be the best way.
But then there are OTC markets.
They don't seem to show up on coinmarketcaps. (they do have rankings for exchanges)

And "easy to find" is another "good" thing about them.

Binance all fits your criteria: reliability, speed, convenience.
You only need Level1 KYC if you are trading less than 2 BTC.
And level 1 doesn't require any documentation from the user.

This is great if true. Thanks.
