1  Economy / Economics / Re: Central of the Philippines Recognizes Bitcoin on: November 14, 2017, 05:31:35 AM
I'm from Philippines also. Yes its good news to us! Because many Filipino heard that news they might been interested to invest to bitcoin. So the price of bitcoin will pump to high.  What if big investor can read that and invest big money the bitcoin price go to the moon. Thanks to bank central ng pilipinas for publishing like that news. Many people the job is bitcoin and many (ofw) overseas Filipino workers the sideline in bitcoin. I think it will not end this year bitcoin will become popular in my country.
I'm a Filipino It is good opportunity for many Filipinos at the Philippines because some there are want to invest in bitcoin. Many Filipinos will know and they can help bitcoin community to pump the price a large again. Many investors of bitcoin I think lots are Filipino. So I am very happy to heard that news many Filipinos will be educated because of that.
According to this article the Philippines’ Bangko Sentral Recognizes Bitcoin as Payment System. The article also added that Bangko Sentral states  sees the virtual currency’s potential to revolutionize the delivery of financial services. Additionally, they also mention how bitcoin provides financial inclusion, which is something traditional financial solutions have been unable to provide. This statements coming from the Central Banks of the Philippines will give a potential impact on the rise of bitcoins value on the market. And not only that, the Philippine Central Bank is not the only bank that sees the merits of bitcoin.
2  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is violence really the key to a drug-free country? on: November 13, 2017, 11:20:41 PM
Aside from resorting to violence, what are your suggestions or answers to solve and deal with drug addicts and users in your country?
Violence is never the key to any country in any way, shape, or form. Violence or even the threat of violence keeps us on edge, our fight-or-flight response is activated consistently and we as humans have no choice but to walk around with this ball of fear or knots in our stomachs. Support should be the answer to drug addiction, an addiction is an altered mindset where you are dependent upon a substance. We are so quick to punish drug addicts but not money addicts who hoard 1% of the entire country's money. Addicts need help not punishment, one becomes defiant under the confines of a society that ridicules them on drugs and even when they make an attempt to get clean. Hugs, love, community, and comfort is what humans crave; drugs take that place.
3  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Atomic swap? Objection: I don't think it means decentralized coin exchange. on: November 13, 2017, 08:54:41 AM
We are hearing a lot about atomic swap (= cross chain transaction processing), specially in the past few weeks.

From a theoretical point of view, I can confirm it is a good start for solving the most important problem in the crypto world nowadays: the need for a decentralized exchange, but I doubt it can be considered a solution or we are close enough.

My biggest concern is scalability, obviously, but there is other challenges as well. I was just wondering if anybody has been studying the subject before and can share her/his ideas with me?

Actually I have been through a very bad experience with a centralized exchange (Bittrex) lately and it has escalated my old anti-centralization sensitivities and allergies about exchanges  Wink.

So, I'm here now, determined to participate more actively (by means of coding, investing, whatever) in shutting the doors of these scammy businesses (bittrex, poloniex, ..., f*ex ) forever and I have a couple of lines of codes,  some coins and a few ideas to share.  Smiley

not bad for a fresh start in a forum, but on the contrary you are complicating a trivial concept to the point of over-complication IMO.
You are just suggesting it (a payment channel in LN terminology) is not a 'buffer' because it has an expiration date, right? But I think buffers can have a auto-flush feature triggered by a clock (block height in a chain, for instance) and they are still nothing more than a buffer.
4  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Trying to set up a crypto company on: November 13, 2017, 08:31:28 AM
Hi guys,

I have been active a lot on this forum, however just decided to create an account. I'll keep this short and would like to know your thoughts Smiley.

I would like to share my idea and hopefully find people who would like to help me set things up.

So, I've been involved in cryptocurrencies since March 2015. Started with a couple hundred euro's (Im from the Netherlands), and was able to expand my portfolio over the time. Some of my friends caught up and asked me if I could help them set up accounts and get them involved in crypto's as well.

Now I am 2.5 years in, and currently I have 17 people who I help invest in cryptocurrencies. What I basically do, I manage their accounts and money and move around the money to different crypto's to maximize profits. However, I am currently graduating and it's very hard to combine the management of all their portfolio's (including mine) and make time to write my thesis ... I've been asked to set-up an actual company in order to manage their portfolio's from a business perspective.

Here comes the problem. I am, in my opinion, good with numbers and finance. But, I do not know how all the technological stuff behind creating a website and so on works. Therefore I am seeking help. Maybe even crowdfund if needed.

I am willing to invest in this project, but still need people who are able to help me Smiley

Let me know what you guys think, if I should proceed with this project or not. Already have customers, but I'd like to make this easier for me and them.

If you have any questions, let me know!

Cheers.

What kind of method do you use in portfolio? I am doing some projects about trading algorithm, and I have a small team to design algorithm to trade crypto.
I am interested in these math and program, my research interests include high frequency trading, maybe we can discuss in these trading things.

6  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin also lead to corruption ? on: November 13, 2017, 08:23:18 AM
We all know that there is corruption everywhere, like in government or any other organization. Because of money, corruption can always happen with greedy people who always wants more money to them. Since bitcoin can be considered as money, can it also lead to corruption?
What kind of corruptions you are talking about? Bribes? Money laundering? Insider trading? Every single one of those existed before bitcoin and they will exist after it.
7  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin can not replace fiat on: November 13, 2017, 08:17:49 AM
However if one already owns bitcoins, this problem that you have becomes non-existent.
Bitcoin is a very good thing to have as an asset. Just like gold. Even better if I may say. It's secure, and unlike fiat money it actually exists and work is put into it to produce it. This makes it great to store value.
However, it cannot and will not replace current fiat money that the entire world it using. It just cannot.
Take paying a cup of coffee for example.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Life with out money ? on: November 13, 2017, 08:10:03 AM
Is there is any chance of life without money i think first thing that every human being is need that is oxygen but similarly same things goes for money we can do nothing without both of those things can we ?
Money is one of many things in life we need to have of. Because now a days, every move cost money especially we need food to eat, water to drink and everything we need it costs money. But money isn't everything in life, we should also learn how to balance things not just having how to have money in mind.
9  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin in Economics class? on: November 13, 2017, 07:31:01 AM

Do you think they are talking about bitcoin in your basic ECON class?
I see no reason that bitcoin will get mass distribution. A lot of coins in the hands of the whales so they will always affect the value of the coins. People on hand will not have many coins and so they can only do small purchases, and the prices of transactions of high which makes unprofitable any attempts to trade for coins. Constantly floating price of coins is also not conducive to trade.
10  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the Meaning of Sin? on: November 13, 2017, 07:28:24 AM
Somebody Say if we commit sin we will be also belong to the the Wrath of GOD and we will not be having eternal Life?

11  Other / Off-topic / Re: Jesus Christ is comming back here on: November 13, 2017, 07:26:03 AM
Repeant and surrender yourself to Jesus Christ because He is comming back here on Earth to group us into 2 which the one's will join Him and the other one are the one who does belong. Sinners stop surrender yourself evil is already with in you confess and repeant.

Read the Bible and you see and realized everything is happening and maybe repeated.

Oh no, Jesus is coming back. Dude, I do not care if he is coming back. It has been 2016 years since he did not show up, and people are still believing in his appearance.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: November 13, 2017, 07:23:47 AM
If you had to convert all your wealth to either Bitcoin or gold and keep it there for 10 years, which would you choose? Keep in mind the fact that Bitcoin has only been around for 5 years, and could be fundamentally different in any number of ways in 10 years.
Bitcoin is a disruptive technological protocol in its infancy.  It is still in the process of price discovery and as additional layers of interface are added on top of the protocol, the difference will be equivalent to the difference between the internet today and the internet in the 1980's.  It is impossible to predict what bitcoin will be like in 10 years, but I expect it will be exponentially more useful (and as such, exponentially more valuable) by then.
13  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Save the planet or not on: November 12, 2017, 01:13:51 PM

Many years talk about global warming, pollution. What do you think about it? Can it be reversed?
I dont know if global warming is just to wash our heads to decrease human population which America wants to control the world. In whole Europe America was built HAARP system and now they are building in Norway biggest very big HAARP system to make earthquakes and other  crazy bad wheathers.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: So, you want to be rich? All of you ? on: November 12, 2017, 07:37:54 AM
Just imagine. If ALL OF US would be rich, that means we would live our lives out from dividends, or any passive income of at least $1k a month. Then it would be jawesome, right ? Well, but then I do have a question.
WHO on this Earth would bake the bread for ALL OF US ?
Robots, you might say?
OK, nice idea.
But then, WHO on Earth would maintenance these robots ?
Another robots ?
I don't think so.
Even if so, even if there would be a Skynet of robots, who would not just bake the bread, but also harvest the grains, transport it, deliver to our doors. What then ?
We could eat for free, as much as you want?
Cool, but what about overweight then.
Doctor? But hey wait, NO ONE on this Earth work, so we have no doctors.
OK, we have Doctor Robots.
Who would teach our kids? Robots! Who would change the diapres? Robot!
Even if humans would master all this, we would need to have all the knowledge to teach our robots to work for us. To be slaves for us. (no minds, just pure robotic hands/arms and so on, Tesla's and autopilots)
But even then, there is one huge problem.
I do not want to touch any country, or race, or group of people, but imagine, if you put infinite amount of resources to any kind of animal (including humans), they would reproduce themselves to infinite. Because they simply can. Because parents do not need to parent their kids anymore, because we have robots! So we would need a limit of reproducing, no right to reproduce as much as you can handle (infinite resources), because we would simple have like 50-100billion people on this planet, and there would be no robots who could grow so much grains to bake bread. (perhaps hyper dense pills could be the away).
So, back to the original question, why do people believe, they all can be rich ?
It was, is, and will be, ALWAYS about that who is going to earn more, not enough, but more than the others.
Why?
If there is only one mansion on the Bahamas, which is large enough, sunny enough, sexy enough, there is no freaking way, ALL OF US could buy it. Just one. 1. One. And if only 10 buyers come with their million, to who would seller sell this mansion to? First ? But second also have million and ALL OF US want to be rich (own that one mansion). So second would have to offer 2 million, right?
Wrong.
No one would want to sell such mansion in the first place, as he is already rich. We all are.
That's true and good point. So imagine I am barber.. but rich (no need to work, but I do it because I like it). Let's say what I earn I would send in 100% to the community (police, fireman, etc). As it would be really boring not to do anything at all.
But would this work? If yes, why are we not in such place already?
All the people would have to limit their needs, eg: one car in family, and not one car per member, plus weekend ferrari. Because if all barbers would have that, it could not work again Smiley.
15  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How to be contented on what you have? on: November 11, 2017, 11:23:56 PM
People are always setting up goals for themselves and the more cash they have the higher the goals become. I'll give you an example from my own life. When I was a kid i always saved money for computer parts. I remember setting up small goals for myself, like a printer or a new keyboard, but when I started to earn real money and didn't have to rely on my parents, my computer goals quickly grew. My old desk suddenly became too small to fit my new computer and then my room was too small and I moved to a bigger flat, and that became too small, so I moved to a house, and now my yard feels too small, I'd like to have 2x that to fit a swimming pool Cheesy
It's not bad to buy things that you don't have but make sure that you have money alloted to it. Right now, I only buy the important things that I needed instead of buying things that I only want. We should learn how to manage our money and learn how to save for the future. I'm satisfied with the things I have right now, I know that I can buy the things that I want when I get a job.
16  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the common cause of poverty? on: November 11, 2017, 12:55:48 PM
Will you explain what common  reason why some other country is still experiencing poverty and some person dying because of hunger because of efficiency on food?
There's a lot of factors why a country is poor. One of the main reason is the government it self. Lack of resources, or resources are not utilized properly. Corruption is also one of the main reason why a country is poor.
17  Economy / Economics / Re: how can bitcoin help the community? on: November 11, 2017, 12:36:07 PM
Bitcoin is promising currency, but somehow because of it's volatile value. How can bitcoin help the community? especially the 3rd world country.
While it is bitcoin is changing lives of many individual it will also somehow help the community. The change in the community starts by changing a person.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: Electronic Money vs. Physical Money on: November 11, 2017, 12:33:23 PM
Hi guys, I just want to know your views and opinion about the difference in Electronic Money (Bitcoin and others) and the Physical Money. Many people now a days are still confuse about the existence of the Bitcoin and how it differ from our Physical Money that we are using to buy necessity. I hope we could share and learn from each other.  Wink Smiley
Bitcoin is just a digital currency and it is completely different from cash, it's not material, it's pure virtual money so no one can tamper with it or eat.
19  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin had a stable price, would it still be as popular? on: November 11, 2017, 12:27:44 PM
Do you think if BTC had a stable price which could only be altered by $0.01-0.10 it would still be as popular and as used?
This thread was created in the wrong section. This should be in the Economics sections. Anyhow, to answer you question: A stable price would most likely end up attracting even more people to Bitcoin.
20  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why government don't accept bitcoin??? on: November 11, 2017, 09:30:54 AM
There are many countries where bitcoin is not legal..Why they don't accept the better technology..I can't understand why they don't accept it??What do you think about this topic, please share..
because tax not pay on bit coin for the government. main reason this one. bit coin transaction is more safe and secure but here had no tax. one country growth depends on tax only then without tax paying services how to encourage government. in many major country's using bit coins but it has no tax.
