Well, I've been away for quite some time, and during which, have lost access to my original account "m0gliE" on bitcointalk.org. So if anyone has looked at my pervious posts from that account and wondered if I have gone off the deep end, I must apologize. I am both delighted and saddened to see how Fastcoin has progressed. Delighted that it still functions, but saddened that I, along with the others, have not dedicated more time to the project. First off, let me address some quick fixes that will resolve many of the problems I've seen posted here and on reddit. I've recently uploaded the entire blockchain files and bootstrap.dat files to archive.org and sourceforge.net You can download the individual files and run using -rescan to build the database, or download and extract the bootstrap.dat file. Note: Importing the bootstrap.dat file verifies each and every block so it's expected to take at least 6 hours to complete. [use -dbcache=4096] Note: Placing the individual files in your datadir will greatly reduce the time needed to scan. Use with the -rescan command switch. https://archive.org/details/Fastcoin_Blockchainhttps://archive.org/details/fastcoin_bootstraphttps://sourceforge.net/projects/fastcoin/For quicker results, set maxconnections=0 while importing the bootstrap.dat After import, close client, then set to maxconnections=2 while completing synchronization. After syncing, close client, then set maxconnections=12 and restart. When Fastcoin imports the blockchain and builds the index, connecting clients will still try to query and send block data which reduces the client performance while building the database. Even while synchronizing the blockchain, if you are connected to many clients at once, it will actually reduce the performance of incoming data. Once the blockchain is fully up to date, you can restart the client using any number of connections as it will no longer hinder the synchronization performance. Some of these issues will easily be addressed in upcoming fixes for the current and future versions of Fastcoin. -m Welcome back m0gliEz, We look forward to your continued contribution as our lead Dev, along with all of the new Developers that have joined us on Github. We also welcome back Joshua Barretto (Zesterer), Shitscared, and Coradan to the fray. Special shout out goes to some new faces, Pierre Pronchery, Fisherman21, shaib39, ProkhorZ, CodeRunner, and Chewy83! https://github.com/fastcoinproject/fastcoin/settings/collaborationAny additional developers that would like to join in please feel free to email us at info@fastcoin.ca and we will send you an invite to join our team within Github. Best Fast Welcome back m0gliEz, Indeed, we are very pleased to have you back full on as we look forward to continued updates and releases in the coming weeks and months. Is it true that you did work for NASA? If it is, we certainly look forward to learning how your new updates will take us back into orbit. We also would like to recognize the 30 plus developers within the Fastcoin network as well. https://github.com/fastcoinproject/fastcoin/network/membersSincerely /C You guys disgust me. The real m0glie is https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=107200He's been active very recently. He did NOT lose access to his account, he was last active "Today at 12:28:12 AM". So m0gliEz is a FAKE account trying to PUMP this DEAD coin. Once again, there is no proof of development, just empty and bleak promises. Go stuff yourself, losers, go ahead and buy this coin. Invest all you can into it. Retards.

has been updated with the most up-to-date mining pools, social forums, and exchanges Yeah, updated - with links to lapool which is impossible to connect to, zenymdpool which is unavailable and BitZeny Graph at site which is no longer supported. I'm sorry, you are correct. There are some links to pools which should have been removed during the recent update. The others are working fine according to the jp community. There were a few new tweets on the original developer's account in the recent days. https://twitter.com/bitzenyI cannot confirm the authenticity of the person behind the tweets, but according to the tweets he will be slowly getting back into development, little by little. Maybe he had enough sake, eh? He also thanked the community for showing support for the coin all these years. Let's not forget about the other community efforts, evident on bitzeny.info and activities which were outlined in the previous pages of this thread. As for the valuation of the coin, I agree with you again. I believe it is currently fairly priced and has been mostly stable since the large and predictable correction from $0.60. C-CEX's holiday mode is unfortunate, but it seems the community has already found a new home on Crypto-Bridge, as the trading volumes reflect.

NEWS! The original website, http://bitzeny.org, has been updated with the most up-to-date mining pools, social forums, and exchanges!

is the project still alive?
Please don't be lazy and read the last few pages of this thread.

Hi everyone! Why is so low price? what do you think about the price in near future? Thank you!
Hello and welcome to our thread! I don't want to lie to you, and I encourage you to label anyone who claims they can "predict" the price of any coin, either via silly triangles on graphs or otherwise, a liar. I have no idea what the price will be in the near future. There are various activities going on with the coin, see the previous page of this thread. I would personally be happy for this coin to reach a stable $0.50 by next summer, maybe $1 by the end of next year! I'm just being realistic here. Please remember that past performance does not indicate future returns, invest responsibly! Good luck

came here from Coinmarketcap so you can understand why. There is hardly any discussion going on for it and its movement is stupendous to say the least. Bad website and no usecases whatsoever. Crazy pump and dump scene
I'm sorry, but can you read? Or are you one of those silly noob/ICO investors who goes on CMC, looks at trending coins and goes to troll and fud the community? It has been explained multiple times how the Japanese community is very exclusive (they don't need foreigners to sustain a coins value), they have their own forums and communication channels. If you can't be bothered to go back literally 1 page of this thread (to page 12) where everything is carefully explained and pointed out then I feel very sorry for you and your money. It is astonishing how you were even so lazy to read the very first post on this page... SoundCloud tipping bot. But, apparently to you, that's not a real use-case. Lazy fud, get lost.

Okay, so what's this coin all about? Plus 1034.47% in 7 days! What happened?
It is really annoying when people don't read the thread. They just come on here and without reading any of the previous posts they just ask the same question over and over again. Please read the thread, it's been explained multiple times!

Well sorry I couldn't help more. For me it works just fine in Windowns 8.1. Here it is syncing a few minutes ago:

Same problem. I tried the client for mac and windows, both generate addresses but can't sync Hey! I just downloaded and installed the wallet but it doesn't synchronize - "No block source available". Does anyone else have this problem?
Strange. A client restart always fixes this for me. Maybe it's to do with a router or firewall problem? If you start typing "no block source available" into Google it will throw a bunch of suggestions with various coins, so it's not a BitZeny client issue. You could see if any suggestions here fix your issue: https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/12952/how-to-resolve-no-block-source-availableHope you can get it fixed!

When you get that, you can try restarting the client.

For doubters, see: Further to this, it's been added to two more exchanges. Stocks.Exchange and Crypto-Bridge. Most of the community is active in the Japanese part of this forum and on various Japanese only websites, and Twitter. Just because you can't see activity in English doesn't mean it's dead. There is a booming foreign community behind it. Please see list above. And get ready for the dump. I wonder who will but the suckers at the end holding the bag???
Mad you missed out? This is a pump by Japanese group. The group is now advertising very hard with Twitter.
Proof? If you mean ZenyHime, the cute BitZeny Mascot, then yeah, she's the tipping bot.

You were correctly reporting from a fork version. But if you look here, this is from the "proprietary" version, and most files look updated: https://github.com/fastcoinproject/fastcointhis is not from a fork. The forked file you reported could be from a detractor as well. Yeah... a user named "fastcoin" (community member "CheetahX" on BitcoinTalk) has re-uploaded the entire code base of FastCoin to make it look like there is activity. The code that was re-uploaded is exactly the same as the current version (8.x). You can see for yourself via GitHub versions. In his stupidity, he doesn't realise that's not how GitHub/software projects work. You don't start off with uploading the most up-to-date version in one commit lol You upload the the most basic version and then work on it and commit over a period of months and years. This is just a desperate pump scheme and I hope others will understand my efforts at giving this warning and will see through these transparent lies. If the real devs cared (like M0glie and Ed Blaha), they would comment here or on reddit. But guess what, they don't. It's just one community user hiding behind the fastcoin name both here and on Slack, GitHub and Twitter. I do not understand why that certain community member feels the need to do useless things like the stuff above, the awfully hype-ish twitter posts and promises with no clear dates. This coin speaks for itself. There is no need for some halfwit user to promote it when the devs have stated time and again that they are BUSY WITH OTHER THINGS and cannot work on this coin full time. When they have the time, they will push real updates and give real value to this coin.

Lol someone re-uploaded/cloned and changed the most insignificant lines ever in a desperate attempt to answer my question. Anyone can see the history through commits. Nice try though. For non-technical people, cloning or forking a GitHub repository means copying another repository and inheriting its history and activity. Just because you see activity on that linked repository, it doesn't mean they are done by Fastcoin developers. You can trace everything back to other, non-related code bases/developers, and two developers, who joined a whole grand of ... 1 and 2 days ago... uhm... soon after my question was first asked. EDIT: Okay, they didn't even change anything, they just forked a bunch of repositories (thus inheriting activity) and re-uploaded a few (old) files. This really is desperate. EDIT 2: seems they did actually change stuff, like added and removed some empty lines to make it look like there is activity, this is getting hilarious, https://github.com/FSTFoundation/fastcoin/commit/e8ffc0ced37096bff04687f200d6d810b0a8f783https://github.com/FSTFoundation/fastcoin/commit/00beb84ee6b79b0fad1221b21d360a38a4734035https://github.com/FSTFoundation/fastcoin/commit/217e830a867c5883587c2cc99ab4d7a22b674144https://github.com/FSTFoundation/fastcoin/commit/9ee6dc0371cf24e85646048d7d80c0fa8b985d81(... and the list goes on for literally every file they have uploaded and/or committed within the last 48 hours) The fact that you are trying to fool the community is pretty disgusting. But anyway, stop this, guys. Just wait for the actual devs - not some random pumper who joined GitHub 1 day ago - to get back on this coin. No need to hype it so desperately for no reason whatsoever... or maybe there is someone in financial trouble who wants to pass on their bag to recoup their investment?
