1  Other / Beginners & Help / How Do I Manage My Portfolio? on: January 03, 2018, 12:58:38 AM
What's the best way to keep track of crypto portfolios? Currently I use Blockfolio, but it doesn't really give me all information I need (e.g. how much total fiat I've invested). I've heard of using an Excel spreadsheet, which seems interesting but I don't have a template or any idea how to start it. Generally, I want a more manual portfolio manager rather than one that is controlled for me. Do any of you guys use Excel or any other way to manage your portfolios?
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reward for mining on: December 12, 2017, 04:53:53 AM
In my opinion it is very difficult to be profitable in mining. Even if your costs are low, the return you get may not always be worth your time (and the stress on your hardware)

I prefer hardware wallets (I use a Ledger Nano S). It generally gives me a better sense of security and it's still really convenient
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin Predictions 2018 on: December 08, 2017, 02:59:48 AM
So you guys think Litecoin will generally have an inverse relation to Bitcoin?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin Predictions 2018 on: December 08, 2017, 12:02:19 AM
It is really difficult to try to predict what it is going to happen, you are thinking that people are going to sell their bitcoin in order to get alts and while that is a possibility there is another possibility and that is that people begin to sell their alts and get bitcoin instead this will make the price of bitcoin even higher and the price of alts incredibly cheap.
Good point I just assumed that the result of the sell-off would flow into alts, which obviously isn't the only possibility. However, I do believe flow from btc to alts would be best for crypto

With the current BTC bull run and incoming bear run, how do you guys think Litecoin will be affected? For right now, I think traders will sell their Bitcoin in the near future and put that into other alts, increasing the price (just a personal prediction). Do you guys think Litecoin is a good investment given the events of the past few days?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most Profitable Coin to Mine on: November 21, 2017, 05:14:54 AM
Can't it be potentially profitable to mine a random altcoin right now and hope it somehow increases in value? This way it won't be very costly and I can still do it on my PC right?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Most Profitable Coin to Mine on: November 19, 2017, 10:51:25 PM
Which altcoin is most profitable to mine right now? My computer isn't very powerful so I would need something that doesn't require much power. I plan on mining Electroneum on my phone once the app is ready to be used
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does anyone know a signature campaign open for newbie?? on: November 19, 2017, 09:44:12 PM
I recommend just working your way up to at least Jr. Member before joining a campaign because not many campaigns are looking for newbies, and the ones that do won't provide much benefit anyway. I'm still a newbie myself and I'm just gonna wait until I'm a Jr. Member
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where I can buy BTC from USD? on: November 18, 2017, 06:55:01 AM
Have you tried using Coinbase yet? They're normally a good place to start.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin courses or self-studying the subject? on: November 18, 2017, 06:48:10 AM
One of the many good things about crypto is how many resources there are available. Even in this forum alone you can learn all about Bitcoin as well as most altcoins. I recommend checking Reddit threads also (e.g. r/bitcoin). Even though they're more casual and "for entertainment" you can still learn a lot from them.

If you're worried about making money just think long-term holding and don't worry about the short-term losses ☺️
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Immune From Hacking And Fraud? on: November 18, 2017, 06:06:27 AM
It's possible for anything to be hacked if you're not secure (i.e. giving out information to sketchy websites), but similarly it should be safe as long as you're careful. Essentially, Bitcoin is as protected as you personally make it to be

The "best wallet" is tough for anyone to give anyone else advice on. There are so many personal variables involved in that decision. E.g., what are you using the wallet for - savings or transactions? What other currencies do you need to maintain in this wallet? What country do you live in?

Everyone's opinion is cool, but none of them will be perfect for you.

Instead, check out this site that compares all the crypto wallets: https://www.cryptocompare.com/wallets/#/overview

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I'm mainly concerned with long-term holding right now. I'm currently holding all crypto (BTC, LTC, and ETH) in different exchanges, but I'm trying to get them out of the exchanges for obvious security reasons.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know of any online wallets that support altcoins as well?
16  Other / Beginners & Help / How to Choose a Wallet on: November 17, 2017, 06:23:13 PM
In your opinion, what's the best wallet to store BTC? I'm currently looking into different online wallets, but I'm not sure which one I can use reliably. Also, would you recommend paying the extra bit of money and just using a hardware wallet? If so, which hardware wallet would you recommend (mainly between Trezor and Nano). I don't mind paying a little more for the added security as long as a hardware wallet has more benefits than an online one.
