1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question about decentralization on: May 21, 2019, 04:16:36 PM
Thanks guys, I appreciate the responses. I understand the 81% doesn't mean that 81% of the ASICs are in China. it's just that the pools are out of china that they connect to. I could be connected to a chinese pool as well from USA. I mentioned china because of this -

https://www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/mining/pools/

and https://www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/mining/china/

Pool Concentration in China
Before we get into the best mining pools to join, it’s important to note that most mining pools are in China. Many only have Chinese websites and support. Mining centralization in China is one of Bitcoin’s biggest issues at the moment.

There are about 20 major mining pools. Broken down by the percent of hash power controlled by a pool, and the location of that pool’s company, we estimate that Chinese pools control ~81% of the network hash rate:

I guess I'm looking at the survivability. if all of a sudden something happened where majority of these ASICS got shut down (within 2-3 days, 80% of ASICs are taken offline) for whatever reason. What is going to happen? will the 20% of the ASICs left from rest of the world, going to handle the hashrate?

I always like contributing to a project. I'm not a developer or anything so there is no way for me to contribute to btc besides talk about it. I guess I wonder if one day, something happened... could ones like me who can't afford an antminer S17 get an opportunity to start hashing to keep btc alive?
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Question about decentralization on: May 20, 2019, 03:52:39 PM
Question popped up in my head today... Figured no better place to ask.

Crypto (well, mostly. I don't like company owned and/or closed source currencies like zcash, ripple etc) is decentralized and is mined just about everywhere. Looking at btc for example, there is no company/ceo owning it and it can be mined anywhere in the world (albeit with specialized equipment, but that's another discussion lol). Mostly is China I believe. About %80-85. Now if Chinese govt said (and they could) no more bitcoin mining. If we see anyone, it's immediate prison if you're even involved in it.

China drops from 85 majority to %5... The other countries can't pick up the slack.

What happens? Let's not talk about the price of btc dropping. I'm talking more about hashrate etc. Will the algorhythm get easier so others can mine more efficiently to keep up with demand of handling transactions? It's not like it'll get so easy that we can start mining with our computers right?

Just trying to get a handle on it, so I understand... I guess my question simply is. Is BTC mining scaling? I believe it does scale. but will it ever scale so far back (if it needs to) that if regular desktops need to mine, they can? What if 95% of all miners using ASIC just quit now?

Thanks guys! please feel free to fill my curiosity!
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: May 16, 2019, 06:23:52 AM
I just purchased some XMR on binance and trying to withdraw to my xmr wallet (monerujo).

Binance is asking for a "label" then "address". I figured the address part out from the app, but what on earth is the "label"?

and if I did want a "payment ID" how would I do that? I have it checked off for not needing it...

anyways, I'm trying to figure out how to put money in my xmr wallet from binance xmr funds.. Just can't figure out what label is.

Can someone advise?

Hey guys,

I believe I already know the answer, but I want to make sure...

Should I pull my money from the exchanges (bittrex and Binance) and put it in my cold wallet for the fork to make sure I get the b2x coins?

It's currently on profit trailer's bot mercy, but I will sell them and convert to BTC if I must.

Thanks
you dont need to pull it out some exchanges support the fork, you just need to trade your alts into bitcoin and buy back again once the fork is done. but why do we really need to much fork? btcash and gold are there why so many fork to do?

It's of all the disagreement and the fact that nobody controls what happens. I agree BTC has become unusable for it's intended purposes (it makes me wonder how satoshi didn't think 4 transactions wouldn't be enough for mainstream). Problem is, there are so many variants of it now... BTG and BCC the two biggest. I think the alternatives are good enough for now, but I don't make those decisions.

First of all, you put cryptos in a cold wallet dear, not money.
But if you mean a certain crypto then yes. You should.
I honestly don't trust exchanges since they cam always change their rules and regulations that might affect you a lot and may lead to losing all the cryptos that you have worked hard for to gain.

But, to be honest, i think that selling your crypto possessions just for the sake of getting free B2x coins is pretty stulid(no offense). If you really plan on doing this, you might as well invest it in promising alternative coins out there or great ICOs. This will surely give great profits. Because trust me man, B2x isn't worth all the hassle and the fees plus the potential profit if you hadn't touched your coins on the profot trailer.

These are just my opinions though, whatever it is you decide tondo is still in your hands.

Good luck pal.

I don't think you understand...

Crypto, money whatever... it's a form of exchange, not going to calling it money is right or wrong.

To do bot trading, or daytrading, you have no option but to leave your stuff in an exchange. I'm sure you know that, but if you didn't you can't daytrade from your cold wallet.

I'm not selling my crypto posessions, it's my day trading stuff. if B2X were to take off like BCC did you'd literally make free money... Look at value of BCC now. but again, that's another topic.

I was primarily curious what people are doing to get free B2X. If I have 1 BTC and B2X turns out to be something good, I would have made some good money down the road.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do I pull my money from exchanges for the fork? on: December 28, 2017, 03:28:24 PM
You guys know if binance and bittrex supported the BCC fork? If so, I'll just leave it in there. I think they did, but I wasn't around here for it to happen...
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do I pull my money from exchanges for the fork? on: December 28, 2017, 02:52:52 PM
When is the B2X fork supposed to happen? I believe sometime today. I can't remember the block number, but it's coming up...

that being said, I didn't know anything about it and I try to follow the crypto news closely. This one is on me.

I just added bittrex as well with about .055 BTC... I'm going to try the stock settings this time with bittrex... is 10 pairs too much for this much BTC? I lowered it to 5 for now. I'm worried they all go into DCA and I got no funds left. This one uses lowbb vs the cryptognone's anderson so

Thanks

I've been using your bot for a day now, with cryptognome's moderate binance settings... It seems like I go into DCA very often. Is this normal?

and only having .05 BTC with anderson strat, I'm stuck in DCA pretty often lol...

Suggestions?

Also, can you explain what the dust-log does? and I never see anything in pending log? I can't find anything for them in the wiki explaining what they are.
12  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining Journey (with Hashflare) on: December 14, 2017, 05:14:59 PM
The aura over these mining sites is insane. Some are so certain it's a scam, some just don't care because they get paid.

It really does sound too good to be true... I mean where else on earth can you make your money like that?

I just spend 825 and got 5.5 th/s... I used money I've earned from my cryptocurrency just making it's own money, so if it's gone it's not something I took out of my bank account to pay bills... we will see what happens. At least I trust this more than bitconnect lol.

they've been around for 3 years now and people still use them.... so whatever they're doing is working. lol

I might do something like this, but on youtube instead. Show from day one (I just started mine couple days ago) and keep track of things

I know many people do it on youtube, but they're making crazy profits, and trying to get their referral link working. To be totally transparent, I would leave my referral out of it.

I only have BTC0.00071941 right now, but I can tell you that when I click the withdraw button, nothing happens. lol

also their website was going down for maintenance, looks like it's back up now.

also for what it's worth, next difficulty is estimated to come down %16 according to bitcoinwisdom
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Mining Pool Hub - Multipool. Multialgo, Auto Exchange to any coin. on: December 12, 2017, 07:19:12 PM
so i have read people wanna to leave MPH and some people showing some tests. Is this pool ligit or are people running for the hills?

I raised my power two days ago on 19 MH/s. Instead of increasing my profits, I get less coins than before. The whole network did not grow in capacity. So it is not necessary to say here that the coin network itself is to blame for this. So the pool steals and does not act honestly. This is the coin of XZC.

for me too with zcoin. From the 9th of December the number of coins mined fell about 20-25%.

2 farms (~173mh\s and ~75mh\s) in different locations, the result is the same, the loss of 20-25% of coins

Please don't assume it's stealing. There are many reasons for losses in real pools.
And what are the reasons? Can please please detail. The complexity of the network did not grow, and even subsided a little.

There is a problem with Ccminer; Sgminer works fine. I'm not posting any more replies on this issue as it's just going round in circles with every new person that joins.

Thanks aaronsace....can ccminer be excluded from list of miners?
BTW - i personally love being here...

It's that algorithm in Ccminer. I recommend taking that algorithm out of your bat file as it's causing loses. Will change the defaults on the next release.

You sure got your hands full since nicehash crashed and burned lol...

14  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / How to check my Ledger Nano S balance on the go? on: December 12, 2017, 07:09:29 PM
Hey guys,

I have a Ledger Nano S, and I recently downloaded the app sentinel and bitcoin balance apps from the android play store...

I got sentinel to show my BTC wallet balance which is awesome...

However, I can't figure out how to get my LTC and ETH wallet balances...

I tried bitcoin balance app and that one I think only accepts legacy addresses.

I actually got one of my LTC balances to show up there (I can't remember what adress I used fom the ledger app) but the external wallet address thing (XBC I think it was called?) is not giving me my balance...

so long story short, is there a way (an app or something) that you know of which will show me my balances in my ledger?

I love sentinel app, but it's unfortunetly only btc, and dev will not be doing a ltc/eth version anytime soon.

Thanks!

for autoexchange to bitcoin cash out fee is  0.0003 ?! this is about 4.2 eur to retrieve 0.002 minimum..is there a way to have a lower fee, cause this seems a little to much for me.

Another thing..im using multipoolminer and for my 1080 ti it shows that i should mine about 0.00047 to 0.00057 at best...when in reality im not doing even half of that...i know alot of people have this issue..maybe im doing something wrong.

Don't use BTC, the dev mentions this too... Use another one like LTC... you can convert to BTC on gdax if you'd like. just point our ltc wallet to gdax deposits.

damn, thx for the info...any suggestions for a LTC wallet?

for now, use coinbase wallet. go do yourself a favor and order a cold wallet (ledger nano, trezor or keepkey) and once you accumulate little bit of money, send over to your cold wallet.

Hey guys, I had some requests on reddit (well I asked if anyone would be interested lol) for making a tutorial on how to use miningpoolhub using multipoolminer... It took me all of last night to make this hour long tutorial that should get you started from creating your account on miningpoolhub to setting up multipoolminer and depositing it to your account/wallet of choice. Here is the video...

https://youtu.be/Ee7hiSTnZa0

If anyone would like to buy me some coffee (or a ferrari if I keep it for few years lol) my donation links are here -

I hope this will help you guys if anyone is having any trouble setting it up. this is a monkey see monkey do style tutorial. Just follow along and you should be making money in no time. I plan to make some more videos soon as I learn more about how this all works. I'm fairly new myself...

BTC - 13UtW3vN4DKmmjV45dL5LHwcV8svu9tuzz
ETH - 0x260fAdC32972ca102C5CA3fAF3996C609C6C0311
LTC - Lh2DiirhVhFdX9VwWS5cY9dxyRGKV9JDGs

Perhaps make this a sticky (or copy paste into main post) to people can see this in the original post.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: December 10, 2017, 03:33:21 AM
Guys, is there any guide to help me setup AM for miningpoolhub?

I tried to look around and cant find anything...

I did what I think I got right, and I have no idea what it's doing lol.

I added a managed profit miner and then added a 'new pool'... I put the address of the BTG pool address in the URL and then worker name (username.worker) and pass x....

picked the type of coin...

I then clicked start and now it's mining "unknown neoscript" which I believe is feathercoin  Huh

I'm so confused. I really want to get this thing running. I primarily want to run equihash, lyra2rev2 and cryptonight for CPU. that's it...

I should be alternating between vertcoin, bitcoin gold, monacoin and monero for CPU...

Help me out please!

Here is a screenshot. I have no idea where that portnumber came from... It's the one for monacoin alright... I don't see it on the dashboard that I'm making anything though?

https://s17.postimg.org/50gyy5yyn/AM_ss.png

also, is there a way to make my CPU work on monero for MPH as a 2nd worker?

edit - it decided to mine groestlcoin which I have no interest in, not to mention, I was just mining monacoin at 80 dollars a day, and now it's doing groestlcoin at 35 dollars a way Huh

Here is the problem I'm having with the multipoolminer. It's launching ccminer_cuda9 and I'm not sure if it's working with my gpu...

https://s17.postimg.org/o51up9hm7/cuda9.png

Delete it from the folder called 'miners' and/or add an alternative.

Trouble is that it doesn't fail gracefully and just spews out a hash rate reading. People need to get on to the developer so that it fails properly or fix the issue.

I tried, it keeps redownloading it... took it off from miners and bin folders.
