Installing rocm 4.5 directly with 5.11 kernel will result the system recognizing the gpu, however I cannot set the fan speed.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / OpenCL Doesn't Recognize RX6700 XT in Ubuntu 20 on: November 10, 2021, 05:04:39 PM
Hi all,
Anyone managed to run RX6700 XT in ubuntu? Which ubuntu version, kernel, and amd driver? Do you enable legacy or rocr or both when installing amd driver? So far I have ubuntu 20.4.03 with its latest kernel, I think 5.11 and latest amd driver with both legacy and rocr enabled, but they don't work.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / RX 6700 xt CPU Requirement and RAM Size on: November 08, 2021, 06:56:41 PM
I have 13 slots motherboard and planning to put 6700s on it, upgrade it from rx570s with Celeron processor and 8Gig ram. Do I need to upgrade the CPU and the ram size also? If yes, what is the most optimum CPU and RAM spec for the setup so that it doesn't draw lots of power?

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Borrowing from Compound Finance on: January 14, 2021, 06:47:53 AM
Hi,
it is said that when borrowing asset from Compound Finance, the borrower get comp token. However when a borrow is returned, comp token still being kept. Doesn't Compound lose money by doing that?

6  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to troubleshoot failed lightning network electrum on: January 05, 2021, 06:39:18 AM
more questions:
1. How to minimize probability getting "no path found" error when try to receive btc, besides opening up more channels? Is there a guide to show how
which channel is better than the others. Or is there a node network map to see rx path?

2. If I can receive without problem from a channel, is it possible if it gets "no path found" in the future?

7  Bitcoin / Electrum / How to troubleshoot failed lightning network electrum on: January 05, 2021, 04:38:03 AM
Hi,
I was able to send 6 mbtc but failed to receive lightning network payment. These were what I did:
1. I opened a channel.
2. I reverse swaped it using submarine swab by clicking max button. It says it should increase the receiving capacity. The electrum history says reverse swap 0.53 mbtc.
3. I failed to receive multiple amount. The capacity was around 6.5 mbtc (according to channel detail it could receive that amount), but failed to received 4 mbtc.
4. Try to increase receiving capacity by doing  submarine swab again. But on the electrum history tab it says forward swab 6.4 mbtc and channel detail said it can receive 0.179 mbct.
5. I thought I increased tx capacity by accident, so I try to swap it again but got "payment failed no path found" error.

Questions:
1. Why did I fail to receive 4 mbtc even though the channel said can receive 6 mbtc?
2. How to troubleshoot when failed to receive? How can check network nodes from the tx side to rx side?
3. How to fix "no path found error"?

8  Bitcoin / Electrum / Transaction on opening lightning network channel on: January 04, 2021, 05:44:34 AM
Hi,
I try to understand transaction when opening a new lightning network channel on Electrum. I open a channel in amount of 7 mbtc and it's still unconfirmed.
On the transaction detail it says that:

0.030956 BTC split into 0.007 BTC and 0.02393 BTC and tx fee

What is 0.030956 btc? why is doing the split?

9  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Wallet balance after closing lighting network channels on: January 03, 2021, 01:37:47 PM
Aren't you looking at the address of your closed channel? It had to be spent to one of your addresses so that the channel could be closed. Still, I am not sure why there is a discrepancy between the balance in the "History" tab and your total balance in the bottom-left corner.

I think it's a bug
10  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Wallet balance after closing lighting network channels on: January 03, 2021, 01:04:08 PM
Yes. Simply, send coins from those addresses to your "main" address. You can spend coins from a specific address by enabling "Addresses" tab in the "View" tab, right-clicking the address in the "Addresses" tab and selecting "Spend". You can spend coins from multiple addresses at once. Before right-clicking any address, hold control and use LMB to select those addresses. It might be a better idea to use your Master Public Key to track all of your addresses. You will avoid paying for unnecessary transactions this way.

I'm using electrum in linux ubuntu, the funded addresses that I want to make as a main address has type "change". I hold ctrl key, but nothing happened. What is LMB? How to use Master Public Key to track all the addresses?

You need to be more specific. What do you mean by "the ledger showed"? Was it in Electrum or Ledger Live?

I'm using Electrum. I use term ledger for transactions in the Electrum history tab. The balance there is not tally to the balance shown down left corner. When I looked at the blockchain explorer, 18mbtc amount is both in confirmed received and spent. However Electrum add that amount to the balance history. Why?

2 questions:
1. After I closed a lightning network channel and force closed another one, my coin was split into 3 addresses: 1 was the main mount, the other 2 were for the channels and they became "change" type.
Can I make them back into one address again? Because I usually view my wallet balance through blockchain explorer using one address.

2. After I force closed a channel, the offchain credited the wallet around 1.8mbtc, so that the ledger showed the amount balance of 36.6mbtc. However the summary coin balance only shows 34.6 mbtc.
why there is a discrepancy? This means that the offchain credit doesn't reflect to the coin balance even though the transaction is confirmed on chain. What is going on?

so peers credited me that amount for safety? how they calculate the amount?
13  Bitcoin / Electrum / Forced closed lightning network channel got stuck in the blockchain on: January 02, 2021, 03:45:31 PM
I forced close a lightning network channel and it got stuck in the blockchain. It says that the transaction unconfirmed (rbf) and it credited 0.00181104 btc.

1. It's been a day it got stuck, should I wait?
2. Why did it credit me 0.00181104 btc for force close channel?

14  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Failing on receiving lightning network tx on: January 02, 2021, 03:41:01 PM
Will this work? I deposit some amount into my nicehash wallet using lightning network to open my wallet inbound channel.
15  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Failing on receiving lightning network tx on: January 02, 2021, 03:38:58 PM
After using the feature, a set of transactions will be held and the amount you've input will be sent to your on-chain balance and deducted from your lightning balance.
A portion (most) of that amount will be added to your inbound capacity.

For example if I want to make my inbound capacity 0.002, I need to pay that much?

So I need to send some btc to a wallet that has a receiving capacity on its lightning network channel? Is there a sevice that provide this kind of thing?
17  Bitcoin / Electrum / Failing on receiving lightning network tx on: January 01, 2021, 07:41:45 AM
Hi,
I try to receive fund from my nicehash account using electrum lighning network feature, but it keeps failing. What I did:

1. On the electrum side, create an open channel, set amount.
2. Create invoice in receiver tab, set amount, copy invoice.
3. On nicehash btc wallet lightning network withdrawal, I paste the invoice.
4. Confirm transaction.
5. However, transaction got rejected. My nicehash account value isn't deducted.

How can I troubleshoot this?

Hello,
do you have hotkey feature to disable GPU in the middle of mining?

Hello, seems that hotkey for disable and enable GPU works only for gpu number 0-9. key A-F doesn't work.  For example A or a is read as GPU 0, B as GPU 1 and so on. Is this a bug or I miss something?

regards

edit: I'm using v0.7.17
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Mining Power Consumption with 13 GPUs on: October 08, 2018, 11:00:38 AM
"it draws around 1780 Watt" why so much? I think you can get it a little lower Smiley

My multi meter reads 8.1 ampere when I tap its output current, so when I multiply by the 220 V voltage, I get 1782 Watt. However, the result is distorted by the electrical magnetic noise around the probe, which is located in the output of voltage regulator. There is a reading discrepancy between probing with 1 machine running and multiple machines with 1 ampere difference or 220 Watt, whereas the lone running machine reads smaller power draw compare to run with multi ones, hence I conclude that the result is distorted by noise.

So assume 1782 watt without distortion is resulting 1782 watt - 220 watt = 1562 watt. Suppose there is 20% power waste with 80% PSU efficiency, the machine power draw without the waste would be 1562 watt / 1.2 = around 1301 watt that makes around 100 watt per GPU, which is ok.
