Does anyone else believe that the "Email is Taken" error message is bad? It gives away information that the email is signed up on the website which is NOT public information. Username is fine because everyone can see it, but email error should not say that.
What are you suggesting? Just an error message without the text? The error message should be there if you don't want multiple accounts on 1 email adress. If Theymos would remove the 1 account 1 email limitation than this forum is doomed to be spammed by account bots. Maybe a suggestion would be to limit the amount of time you can try to make an account if the email is already used. In that way hackers can't just spamm different email adresses to check whether an email is linked to an account. Say if email account is taken -> wait 5 min to retry No, that error should not be shown. Instead once the form is submitted it should say "If an account does not already exist, we will send you a confirmation email"

Unfortunately, I think that you misunderstand the system. Given the trillions of different gender identities, we have adopted a coding system in which each gender identity is assigned a 64-bit number. For example, and only for illustration (I do not wish to presume your wingspan), Apache-attack-helicopter-gendered people would need to input the easy-to-remember code 0x9b68d151aeefa34f. In order to maintain compatibility with legacy systems, however, this is done by submitting the form multiple times with different genders. For example, in this case you would input Male Female Female Male Male Female Male Male Female Male Male Female Male Female Female Female Male Male Female Male Female Female Female Male Female Male Female Male Female Female Female Male Male Female Male Female Male Male Male Female Male Male Male Female Male Male Male Male Male Female Male Female Female Female Male Male Female Male Female Female Male Male Male Male. Simple! Now, it may seem discriminatory to assign Male 1 and Female 0, but not to worry! The coding is designed so that you can also input the inverse and get the same result. And to avoid left-handed bias, you can also enter it in opposite order. In fact, you can just put in whatever sequence of entries you want and the result will be the same.
So you see, bitcointalk.org is in fact the most progressive website ever, and I am ashamed to live in a world in which this system isn't yet codified into law.
This is quite possibly the funniest thing I have read on this forum. Hands down best admin on the internet.

I think hilariousanco finally snapped (or got hacked). Either that or I'm really out of the loop (wouldn't be the first time). On a side note, does anyone actually believe gender is a social construct?
(Relatively) Quite a lot of people nowadays do. Am I the only one that believe it cant be changed?
Anyone who thinks that it can is a bamboozled idiot. Those people are not any better than the "vaccines cause autism" or "the earth is flat" baboons. Well I guess we know where you stand. I would consider myself very libertarian, and when it comes to social issues I am very open to many things. However I just find the whole gender thing really ridiculous. I guess I don't really care that much if there's a valid medical reason. Gender dysphoria is a thing and if it helps you cope / live and you're not annoying about it, it's fine with me. As long as it doesn't interfere with my life, live and let live. Anything beyond that seems pretty ridiculous. What is this thread tho?According to WolframAlpha, there are about 9,600 cases of gender dysphoria in the US. It seems like way more people than that are acting? like they "identify" as a different gender. Just seems really weird to me.

As a fellow attack helicopter I 100% agree. On a side note, does anyone actually believe gender is a social construct? Am I the only one that believe it cant be changed?

Hey, I'm interested in buying a code but I will only pay after I apply it to my account it works. Hopefully my trust rating and legendary status is good enough for you to agree.

Okay, that makes sense. And how do I see who is on the DT1 and DT2 lists?
Go here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust, remove everything besides DefaultTrust. The list that you see below is the list of DT members. My trust bar is green, so I am assuming I am on one of those, but how can I check?
You are not. You just have ratings left by other DT members. I see so even if I give some positive trust rating to someone it won't actually make a difference to their bar right?

Do negative ratings by Jr. Members and below even matter? I have two negative ratings by spam accounts but it doesnt seem to have a negative effect at all.
No. Only ratings from DT1 and DT2 members are visible by default, and thus also affect your rating. I've got a lot of fake untrusted feedback on me, nothing to worry about. Okay, that makes sense. Pretty much everything that involves some sort of "authority" or "power" can be misused. You should intuitively come to this conclusion. Between you guys didn't confirm if there is some appeal or rating review mechanism?
No. First you take it up to the person who gave you the rating. If they do not respond or ignore you, then you can ask the community. If the community agrees that the rating is unjust, then you can contact the relevant DT1 member. If the allegedly unjust rating was left by a DT1 member, then you need to contact theymos. Do negative ratings by Jr. Members and below even matter? I have two negative ratings by spam accounts but it doesnt seem to have a negative effect at all.

Its interesting to observe that replies from 2014 people use to spend their btc in food, pizza, games, online shop... But now people are hodling , because now btc became more than just a coin, its a investment .. People are now believing and betting on it because they know how pottencial this crypto is!
I actually still use Bitcoin for day to day purchases when I can. I just end up buying more BTC at the end of the day. I think using BTC shows that people still use it so merchants wont remove it, but I buy the BTC back so I can hodl.

Hi everyone! 2 years ago I bought a Big Mac (around 5 Euros) to bring to a good friend that was really hungry ...I did not want the money back so he proposed to give me the equivalent in BTC; He explained a bit about it, convinced me to download Mycelium on my phone and then he sent me 0,017 BTCThen I totally forgot about it... ...last week he messaged me: "hey, did you ever open/check again Mycelium...!? If not, go and check!" So I discovered "that Big Mac" is now a 5/6-course dinner in really nice restaurant !! That's how my story with the Bitcoin started and why I've decided to join BCT Forum! I've looked around and I found a lot of guide and Q&A here that I'm going to read to understand deeply this new (to me) world! My first question is: Any suggestion about the best way to invest my "BigMac"...? May I just keeping it or...? A special thanks to my "Big Mac addicted" friend! Bye from Italy I started bitcoin with bitcasino, a minecraft server. I remember they used to give you 0.001 every 30 minutes. I used that and built that up to 1.7 BTC. Unfortunately I spent most of it but I still have a few BTC left that I am keeping. I recommend you keep and invest more into BTC.

Hello! I am new and have an answer! Friend is important to be an active reader and write more often. Comment, report and rating will grow the only thing that will not be fast. Do it every day.
Trust is usually not influenced by number of posts. The quickest way would be to just buy stuff from people in the services and goods section and hope that they will give you positive reviews.

This campaign is still going right? Does this week's post count start at the last weeks end count, or last weeks end count + 1? Also are the payments every friday or one week after we sign up?

As everyone knows one of the major problems with Bitcoin economy is hoarding. The idea of this poll is to find out whether the lack of spending in the BTC economy is mainly due to the lack of acceptance of Bitcoin payments, or is it that people can actually buy a good deal of stuff that they need with BTC but choose not to.
i think people use bitcoin for investement and use as livelihood especially to me. i use bitcoin as livelihood, i convert bitcoin to buy something like daily needs I would say that in that case youre not using it as livelihood. You are just selling your assets and using fiat for your daily needs, unless everyone you buy from accepts bitcoin.

That was looking good for me Thanks As I can see you have only three currencies you can convert btc's price into. So first suggestion would be to add more fiat currencies. Secondly it would be great if you let us all know what is the source of the rates we are watching on your site.
I am currently working on adding more fiat currencies and crypto currencies as well. At the bottom of the page it says "all prices fetched from coinbase.com". Is that not visible enough?
