3  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Eco project turning plastic waste into Energy on: August 31, 2018, 07:39:00 PM
@OP
You understand then that the reason coal and gas is funded and idealized the way it is, is because next to nuclear and hydro, they are capable providing the large loads to the grid. They also provide the best frequency, MVAR, and line voltage support. I work at a gas facility myself. The renewables aren't a valid option for the entire grid. Not in the way that the grid is set up now. Now, if the United States were to have localized grids that were independent, then that would be a far different story.

As for your project, it sounds interesting and I wouldn't mind working alongside you, one way or another.

9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What will happen if crypto currencies dominate the earth?!!! on: April 01, 2018, 08:49:22 PM
Don't get me wrong i love crypto currencies and support blockchain technology all the way.  but i had that thought last night so i want to share it with you,  what will happen exactly if bitcoin and other crypto dominate the earth and replace the current financial will that help the world or it will destroy the world econmy? I would love  to hear your opinions, thoughts, visions  on this topic please is there a safe passege for that or no?

If PoW based, maybe there will be no forests anymore?

Replantation has come quite a long ways.

Banks are a major influence in drafting laws, at least in the United States. And they really don't like cryptocurrency because there is no reliance on the banking system in order to support it, if it becomes fully adopted. I think cryptocurrency still has a long way to go in order to become adopted by the majority of people throughout the world. I mean, imagine a private party sale of a vehicle utilizing cryptocurrency, especially for valuable vehicles ($50-100k and more). I guess the super rich may initiate a bank transfer, but, how quick would the turnaround be. There's definite benefits it brings to world problems, or efficiencies that it brings.
10  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BCT Info App / API on: April 01, 2018, 08:30:06 PM
I have updated the OP with content regarding a new Airdrop / Bounty system that I have begun implementing for automatic verification of user status for such events. There's still some work to be done, but let me know what you think.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [AIRDROP]🚀 Redpillcoin- The Currency Of the Future 💥108000 USD Rewards 🚀 on: March 31, 2018, 02:01:37 PM
I have been recruited as the Airdrop Manager for the project. Posting to reserve this space and keep easy access to the thread.

Many of you are not in the Telegram. Make sure you join, otherwise you will forfeit your Airdrop status.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ∆ Delta - Cryptocoin & ICO Portfolio for iOS & Android now available! ∆ on: March 31, 2018, 08:40:30 AM
All of the project info is irrelevant to me until I can understand this one question. Why would you choose the name of a company that's already widely known as the name for your product? (Delta Airlines)
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I stop looking at Bitcoin Price on: March 31, 2018, 01:40:13 AM
I just stop looking at bitcoin price. It hurts me actually, that's why I took this decision. I am holding few of BTC and I will not look at my wallets too for 2 months. I hope after 2 months when I will go to see bitcoin price, maybe I will scream happily. What about you guys?  Grin

If your interest is in the long term, as it should be, then this is the better tactic to take. Look every now and then, not every day or every hour. If you're planning on buying more, then of course you would need to look more often. But as is the case with a number of people, you're looking for the long term. And it sounds like you have a sizable amount, so I'd hold off on looking for a while for sure.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I’m out on: March 31, 2018, 01:38:29 AM
I had a blood clot on my brain in late January and stroked out.By the time I got out of hospitals rehab a month later I’m seeing 85% losses, with no end in site. I can’t ride this rollercoaster any lower. I’ll be happy to escape with some profits now rather than ending up underwater. Good luck to all.

Sorry to hear about your health issues. But, crypto is for the long term, not the short term. That's like being disappointed your long term stock, or your 401k, isn't doing very well. You look at your options, pick the best one, and ride out the storm. Best of luck to you though.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: International Bitcoin's Day on: March 31, 2018, 01:36:14 AM
there is Bitcoin Pizza Day which is celebrated on May 22. as you now Laszlo Hanyecz bought two pizzas for 10 000 BTC and this fact made bitcoin famous. I think this purchase made very much for promoting bitcoin.

10,000 BTC? If only we could see the future. I certainly would have killed to buy a handful of Bitcoin when it was well under $100. But, thank you for the informational on which day was the day the first item was bought with Bitcoin!
17  Bitcoin / Project Development / BCT Info App / API on: March 30, 2018, 07:35:42 PM
After seeing a list of SMAS users (I still don't know what the exact definition of SMAS is), or in otherwords, users banned from signatures from Laudia, I decided I wanted to work on a little project. Also, I decided to do it after seeing some controversy on Lauda as well. I'm still new when it comes to knowing who the people are and the history.

Anyway, I figured the list of SMAS users would be a good start for the project, and then I could go from there. Currently, the project allows you to view a searchable table that lists the SMAS users, along with the reason why they're banned and the reference material for it. Since I pulled the users from Lauda's list, there was no reference material for the ~800 users.

(Near) Future Plans
  • I will add the ability to choose which field is the ascending / descending attribute.
  • Once I am able to get to it, there will be a direct link to the user's profile.
  • There will be more details available on each SMAS user as well (This is the "View" button that currently does nothing).
  • People will be able to contribute user's to the list. Contributions will be reviewed prior to addition.
  • People will be able to provide additional data for any user currently on the list. Contributions will be reviewed prior to addition.
  • Multiple language support
  • Farther future will be the (possible) incorporation of an API to allow you to pull info directly from my server, within reason. I need to learn how to properly develop APIs, so I may end up doing this.
  • Possible mobile app once the web framework is complete

I plan to add more features and more data to look at. I would like input on how the current site feels / operates. As well, I would like input on what could be added.

The project is coded in PHP primarily, utilizing the CodeIgniter 3 framework. The layout is using the MDB Bootstrap UI kit for Bootstrap 4. This may end up as an open source project, but we shall see.

Secondary, rather, Primary App
  • In addition to the SMAS users feature indicated at the link above, and though I plan to add more BCT features, I have begun development on an Airdrop / Bounty tracker system.
  • The system is currently more specific to the project I'm working on, but I think it could be generalized and easily modified to the need of the project.
  • Currently, the system is able to track
    • Telegram Followers
    • Twitter Followers
    • Validate ETH Address
    • Validate a URL that users claim they have shared posts at (Facebook + Twitter currently)
  • Unfortunately, Facebook does not allow users of the API to pull member information. So, tracking Facebook members / likes is still a manual task. If the page is a public group, then I may be able to write something that can scrape the data. But, as many projects create Facebook Pages, instead of Facebook Groups, this would not be feasible.
  • Finally, once the system updates the current list of followers, it determines the user's eligibility for the Airdrop / Bounty based on its performance. These checks are done daily.

18  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Is anonymity a good thing for Bitcoin? on: March 29, 2018, 10:59:27 PM
Your right in saying that there's no perfect solution but this doesn't mean we should just accept that. It's always best to strive for the best possible solution and I'm a big fan of discussing any issues and possibly coming up with new ideas and solutions.

Also where do we draw the line when trying to help people investing into skeptical projects or depositing their Bitcoin in shady businesses. Some businesses are well thought out schemes which can catch out even the most experienced people. Just look at the TradeFortress situation whether he stole anything or he was telling the truth doesn't matter there was obviously some trust put into his technical abilities and enough trust for people to deposit their money. But the site was possibly hacked and many allegations were thrown around and I'm not sure if any investigations were carried out from the authorities.

You're right. It can be extremely hard to figure out well thought out scams. I was mostly referring to the ones where the team is completely anonymous. Any time the team refuses to be known, it's shady.
19  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Is anonymity a good thing for Bitcoin? on: March 29, 2018, 10:12:14 PM
I think the people who are concerned about the anonymity of crypto due to the uses are over-worried about the small percentage of the population. You are going to have people use and abuse systems, no matter the system. In other words, you are going to have people stealing money in any way possible. Now, if people would do their research before blindly sending money to a team of anonymous users leading an ICO, then that's their own fault and not the fault of the cryptocurrency system itself. Yeah, there are people who are going to buy drugs and weapons with crpyto. But, they're going to do it with cash too. How do you plan to stop people from using 100s of millions of dollars in cash? You can't and won't.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: China central bank will launch crackdown on virtual currencies . on: March 29, 2018, 03:30:16 PM
The chinese government, or government backed company, is cracking down on what you're allowed to do? Who would have ever guessed the censorship?

A lot of banking institutions around the world have a problem with it, and for good reason, and same to the governments. It just goes to show how controlled we all are, even if we think we are free.
