Is there something that makes you trust (or at least to take a leap of faith on) a project before the ICO stage (not a Pre-ICO for the big whales), before you can see the pics of a team and rush through few pages of the WhitePaper/brief or take a peek at the future RoadMap. Meaning would you do anything before you can see the value of the project/token/something else. No investments or heavy work, just spread the word and maybe leave your email for the team.

Would you trust a project if it was featured in an article on some site you trust or would the simple advertisement on the same trustworthy site work for you? Would you rather trust the project that promises fantastic turnout which in real life is pretty hard to execute (a Lamborghini Diablo or an iPhone XXX to every early adopter) or the one that might downplay its worth but might have a real effect on some of the problems you or the world face everyday? Would you trust a professionally looking website with lots of texts or graphical landings with easily comprehensible sequencing? etc. All in all what makes you tick regarding new and unknown projects (or rather if you would even participate in such a project before an ICO).

I guess it is more of a psychological question still it would be interesting to see the answers from the community as most of the projects/startups nowadays are linked with the ICO and crypro world.

So you all think that it will go up in some time? Price dynamics for the last several days seems depressing enough...

Aren't you afraid of IOTA after the whole shebang with it lately (PR fails with partnership declaration which never were & the doubts with its proof of work concept which seems flawed)?

I mean I was sold on the idea they are trying to push forward, but latest news got me doubting the reliability of the company behind the project.

Just want to find out the community's opinion and/or appeal on the following scheme - conditional giveaway prior to any ICO announcement is made. As I understand it, a project is trying to beef up their user base promising a sort of 'bonuscoin', which would turn into 'real' cryptocurrency or tokens after/during the ICO.

I've stumbled upon a site that suggests to install an app on your phone/PC. After the installation and log in via Facebook is complete user receives a certain amount of "bonuscoins". After that you can invite your friends to join you and as they install and register via your promocode, you receive more bonus. No information about ICO or what it would be all about (early in 2018 is vague enough).

It looks rather doubtful, but I might be too negative person to make real evaluation of such a scheme. So maybe someone has information or at least an assumption - how effective such campaign might be and if such a project might lead to something substantial/real?

First off I think that it won't be that easy to reach Top 500 (I'm with leea-1334 on this one). And for the whole marketing concept - such artificial stimulus feels 'wrong'  for a long-term investment (or 'right' for the pump and dump scheme). I feel that Waves should have a more substantial usage stimulus rather than a marketing ploy.

But then again I might be 'wrong' or 'right'...

I'm not sure if this one can stay solely within token/blockchain ecosystem cause of the goods delivery issue - postage still means fiat. And if what I've heard about the Russin Post is even half way true it would only complicate the whole process for both buyers and sellers.

Seems to be going down a bit. Not sure if it would hold at its current pace. I would consider selling, at least part of it.

Funky name & business. Seems that they are riding free coins giveaways on Instagram heavily (without much success - next to none comments/likes in their account). If you're not planning on spending them as a gambling/lottery currency, not sure that it is a worthwhile investment

Why is that exactly? Waves price seems like a rollercoaster ride - every time it steadily goes up and reaches certain peak it goes full speed down.

I might be wrong, so I would appreciate your input on the initial statement (why should it go up after the 10K waves handout)?
