1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: August 01, 2015, 10:25:21 AM
The people behind iTop are not new. Everyone is tired of getting ripped off. However to be frank I am not very familiar with any major scandals regarding ASICs but I don't doubt there have not been any.

Back in Oct 2012 I started sending through Paypal money to Butterfly Labs because I believed in them. I pre-ordered so many Jalapeņos that I started converting them into Singles. I trusted Brian, Jody and Josh. This went on for a year before I realized I was burnt. Do you know who's fault that was? Mine, it was my fault. The writing was on the wall but I continued with an incurable optimism until I finally realized it was over.

However this did not make me start harassing legitimate sellers of ASICs or new companies of being bad actors. I was grateful to see more businesses selling ASICs because I knew then that we would eventually obtain some. Most of us started our ASIC mining with the USB's from Friedcat. When I needed a large USB Hub I went to one of the iTop owners that was just selling them on eBay back then and he got it to me fast. Thats how long this team has been around. The iTop Corporate brand is just the name of their new Business which they had to jump through a lot of hoops to get rolling. I think they even had to register their logo image.

I want to see these guys at iTop do well. Once they build up a much bigger base we will see all kinds of cool stuff. They are big into the Drones now but I am hoping to see some killer deals on 3D printers, Solar Generators, and more mining equipment and ways to save save energy while still being able to compete as an independent home miner.

Let me try to get a hold of a friend of mine on the East Coast and ask him to comment here in regards to these peoples character and trustworthiness. Plus a friend of mine in the UK that runs some NOMP pools because he bought like nearly a dozen in one shot of those Silverfish LTC Miners from them through the old iTop ebay store back in 'May 2015' I believe. These peoples credibility needs to be established immediately before any accusations based on assumptions.

Because everyone these days is so busy and if that means I am not able to get anyone here to back up what I am saying. I recommend you look at this at face value. If the risk if far greater than the reward then just don't do it. However please wait until there is actually proof that they are acting in bad faith before pounding them on here with FUD.

I recommend reaching out to iTop and doing Business with them. You will not regret it. These guys are well financed, connected and have this down to a science. They are available around the clock. You will appreciate the way they do business. I know I do and I have yet to have heard any complaints but only praise from the numerous friends I have sent to them over the last few years.

I briefly looked at itop, and while I'm not convinced they are scammers, you've convinced me that they are using shills and are not to be trusted.

If your referring to me as a shill your off base, out of line and straight wrong. I rarely comment about anything, usually its just to support my friends. That is all I am doing here. However you have just reminded me why I don't usually come on BitCoinTalk and post. The reason is I have never seen individuals that go after people online like I have experienced and witnessed here. It blows me away. Here its guilty till proven innocent. Thats not the way it really works. You know that.

BTW- These below are the people I was referring to that I know that have done a decent amount of Business. Like most in Crypto its hard to get anyone to budge to do anything so I doubt they are going to come here because I asked in order for them to support James and iTop. But you never know. Although if by chance you come across them just ask and you will hear only good things about iTop.

Someone posted this on bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1134060.0), I have never heard of them before and it looks like they haven't been around that long from the twitter account.

I also do not see any good company info

They claim to be selling sfards miners http://www.itop-corp.com/

Looks fishy to me

I suspect not to be real they show stock: Units in Stock:100

If they had some I don't see that site having backing for 100 units.   Were talking around 100k usd or more... i don't see it.   Also  the site is weird as far as variety of items.

Hi, thanks for your feedback. You're right that 100 items was incorrect and you're right about the Twitter and website being quite new. We started on Taobao and Alibaba then later eBay and have had a lot of growth in the past few years so have decided to test the water in the rest of the world. We're starting up independently where we have more control of our products and services and more direct dealings with our customers to offer a more complete service. Case in point - The Silverfish miners had a problem when the authentication server went down. Through Taobao/eBay, there wasn't much we could do (they like to stop sellers and buyers from communicating directly) and we had to put a message into the store page to our customers and hope they got it to let them know about an updated firmware.

Going independent allows us to communicate directly with customers and avoid these problems going forwards.

The Sfards miner: http://www.itopshop.net/sfards-28nm-sha256-and-scrypt-dual-miner-p-243.html (we have 2 with more coming very soon)

The stock levels on the website aren't all correct right now as we only have a small team transferring everything from Taobao and Alibaba to the new website but if it's on the site you can at least know that it's in stock. We're working hard to get everything up to date and added. You'll see our product catalog grow as we get more things online.

Here's the recent thread I started to introduce the company: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1134060

If you notice any other problems or have any questions then please feel free to contact me by PM here or email (see my profile). As I said before, we're committed to excellent customer service and we have a proven record on Taobao, Alibaba and eBay. It'll take some time to get that reputation after a fresh start so of course we'll be trying even harder.

you  are new people are tired of new guys coming here and trying to rob people.  Myself and a few others are trusted and don't rip people off .

If you want to proof yourself send one to me and when I get it I will pay you.  Now I know you are UK based. and do not expect you to send one to me. But find a trusted UK guy we know and send him one  trust him and he can say you did that.

Other then doing something like that people will just not want to buy from you.

zero photos of real miner. go away scummer

What is a scummer?

Why do you accuse a Business that is advertising their goods for sale as not acting in good faith without any direct evidence or personal experience with them?

So basically your opinion is just that, an opinion. Does not give you the right to slander their reputation. Why do you do that? Are you trying to protect people from getting ripped off? Have you been ripped off buying ASICs from other companies? Are you a BFL victim from way back?

If you answered yes to any of the above I sympathize with you, however still it does not give you the right to accuse anyone or any business of acting in bad faith without any direct evidence.

I have known the people behind iTop for over 3 years and they are the most trusted people in the Business.

If you assume they are not legitimate, I recommend you obtain proof and take it to the authorities whose job it is to investigate matters pertaining to online fraud. In the US you can probably call an 800 number listed on a DOJ Website or something, then let it go and learn a lesson from it. Thats really all you can do.

iTop does good business. They deserve to make a decent profit from their business. The percentage profit they make is not yours or my business. Its either take it or leave it but don't loose your composure over it and call them a scummer (whatever that means) because it helps nobody and surely does not help you.

Just my 2 cents.

Choosing cute sub-handles like Igotscammed and Mudafuda sure don't do allot to hide your intentions.Congrats..you accomplished your goal of trashing an interesting coin, putting myself and others firmly into the red on this one. Now you can move on to whatever else you might feel competes with what you might be into.

I'm a hero member dickhead. Fuck off noob, it's fucktards like you supporting purely shit coins are solely to blame for the current state of crypto. Idiot.

I am very surprised you let that 'Coindexter' person flip your switch enough to where you would even need to respond. You told them, surely they must be thinking twice before they ever try anything like that again.....
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [iGotScams] BALLS premine scam on: November 29, 2014, 02:02:12 AM

I am a 5+ POD Rated developer.
Please don't throw your poor attempt at e-penis here. I released one of the first altcoins, not number 550. Most people here don't need pod as the where amongst the original crypto devs. I don't need no proof of dev shit, my dev is written in crypto history not proving my identity to a stranger. Secondly obviously the 5 star pod means shit as your shit arse needed to hard fork the coin almost instantly.

'I Got Spots' is undeniably one of our top developers.
Your confused. A developer for crypto develops code, you confusing him for what is called a cheerleader. Spots knowledge of code is limited and selective and continuously through these forums has proven his knowledge is limited and novice at best.

If you wanted to embarrass yourself just post a naked pick instead of looking like a lying dickhead.

I don't need to lie because in the final scheme of things the actual outcome here makes very little difference to me.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [iGotScams] BALLS premine scam on: November 27, 2014, 10:06:01 PM
This guy with spots on his BALLS thinks he can continue pilfering the community full time. Whining everywhere how Cryptsy won't add his latest bullshit scamcoin.

The clown launches a 5000% POS coin, 3 day proof of work (1 million coins) and then only posts it on bitcointalk with 1 day to go. Classy!

I just want to clear the air here. I helped launch Snowballs (BALLS) and tended to the original OP that was posted. 'I Got Spots' was banned from BitCoinTalk because of a feud that originated a few days earlier that was related to a special staking mechanism similar to PeerCoin which allowed for staking to occur while the wallet was not only closed but also while it was on the exchange which instead of the proprietor of the exchange getting the staking, the owner of the coin would be the one rewarded. Frankly to me, this was quite extraordinary and could not understand why he would be banned but indeed he was.

So I assisted in helping where I could when Snowballs launched which ended up being here on BitCoinTalk. The first OP is still there today but locked down as it should be. I would estimate it was one day before 'I Got Spots' was let off his ban and he immediately started a new OP. There was a thank you to me but I no longer see it in the OP. The only error I made was when I re-added more pools to the OP, I accidentally deleted a pool that looked the same but was not. There was one gentleman that was upset about that, if this is you, then I want you to know that I still have all the forwarded messages from 'I Got Spots' in regards to the Snowballs launch and you are welcome to contact me privately just as we communicated last time and I will be glad to provide those to you.

There was absolutely no pre-mine. 'I Got Spots' is dead against pre-mines unless its maybe an ICO or something. I will say that what I got out of helping, I made a horrible error once again and deposited the Snowballs into an exchange I never heard of that had buy walls offering unheard of pricing. I was able to trade the Snowballs for nearly 6 BTC because they were offering buys at like 0.001 BTC. However when I tried to withdraw I soon found out that the exchange 'HashNZ' was a bogus exchange. It took me a week and through the help of 'Linus Dunkers' to convince me that the BTC or Snowballs was not coming back and indeed those people running the exchange were not good people.

I am a 5+ POD Rated Developer. I have developed one Coin all on my own and assisted other developers on probably half a dozen coins and all of them are still running with a market cap. I have been involved in BitCoin since 2011 and ran an early BitCoin Blog. I worked for nearly a year as a volunteer moderator for Jim at CryptoCoinTalk plus have volunteered virtually at the 'Association for Digital Currency' in Washington DC  for CEO Rick Shaddock where I still hold a chair on the Board of Directors.

I have been privileged to be able to work on a few occasions with 'I Got Spots'. A lot of the valuable methods I use during development I have learned from him. I have never seen anything that I would consider nefarious in his regards, otherwise I would have nothing to do with him. My experiences and observations in a learned environment have been text book working with him. Now I am not saying that he does not have his faults. I learned over time to not introduce him to my friends because he lasts about 5 minutes then eats them for lunch. I have never seen anyone piss someone off as fast as he does. However its always over their opinion and not based on the facts which is all that he knows through experience.

'I Got Spots' is undeniably one of our top developers. Now please do not think I am driving his ambulance because I am not. When I was invited onto IRC during the development stages of that special staking similar to PeerCoin, the people that were there assisting in that development were some of the people that pioneered this CryptoCurrency Revolution. I will not name names but honestly I was very impressed by who they were. Four years in BitCoin never got me that close to those developers but sure as heck being a guest invite from 'I Got Spots' did.

Please do not FUD me. If you want to contact me send me a PM and I will do my best to get back to you ASAP and assist you or verify my claims above to be true. I prefer to keep a low profile and primarily only engage in Crypto activity as a volunteer and researcher.

Nice job! fucking thief's! I mined on http://x11-x13-pool.org with 1th from launch for the first hour I got 0 coins for over 100 blocks found . So u remove them from the OP and add Hardcore miners nice job, they dumped on bonuscoin too, look at the wallet on bounuscoin, same hash graph on the wallet. I hope u get this pos coin stuck up ur ass! bunch of fucking crypto criminals! The Usual suspects!

Just waiting to see what exchange is in on it!

Pay attention people! don't buy this crap when it hits the exchange, let them keep all of it and get it stuck in their ass!  Kiss

I just sent you a PM. What exactly are you referring to? I removed a duplicate pool (Or what I thought to be a duplicate pool) when I added the newer  pools to the existing pools links to post all four at once. If its a link you need that I removed this should be simple because I have everything that was provided to me to post. PM me or email norcalnewbie707[at]gmail[dot]com so that I can try to help you. If I am reading this incorrectly regarding what your implying please still contact me and explain whatever it is and I will do my best to help you.

Snowballs (Coin) Launch Thread
http://mmxivcoin.com/forum/index.php/topic,23.0.html

If anyone wants to copy this to bitcointalk since I'm banned, that would be cool
I'll post it in my own thread whenever my ban is up, but who knows when that will be

Snowballs

Snowballs are an experiment to push the limits of our staking hardware. They will feature 1,000,000 BALLS via SHA Proof of Work followed by 5000% yearly stake. This is very high because we are testing methods of making the Snowball Staking hardware a viable alternative to expensive, high energy miners. The short mining phase ensures we have widespread coin distribution to ensure a smooth hand off to a Pure Proof of Stake network

Future Plans

It's up to you guys whether you mine it or not. We have plans to use this coin as an incentive program towards our Snowball hardware customers. It has a use for us. Whether you want to participate or not is cool either way. The goal is to provide a low cost, standalone staking device that can earn more than high cost, high energy mining hardware. Minting is the future of low cost coin generation and we are at the forefront both with Maieuticoin and now Snowballs, which are created to out-perform proof of work chains for minting profits vs mining costs

Coin Specs

  • Algorithm: SHA256    Ports: 11064, 21064
  • 40 BALLS each over 25,000 Mined PoW Blocks
  • Proof of Stake at 5000% yearly yield 24h / 30d
  • Staking starts November 2nd at 12:00:00 GMT
  • Tx fees are destroyed for anti-inflation (640000000)
  • Name conf file mmxiv.conf in Roaming/Snowballs Folder
    • This is an important step for all Snowball hardware
    • If self compiling, it will make as MMXIV-Qt/mmxivd

Mining Pools

Rewards Program

BALLS will be an available option when you purchase your Snowball Staking Hardware with Maieuticoin. Unlike when selecting another chain, each Snowball customer that chooses BALLS will receive some free per purchase. Simply send us an address your Snowball hardware generates once you receive the unit. This is why this coin has such a high staking percentage; to encourage the use of cheap, cost efficient, low energy staking hardware for long term profits instead of expensive, outdated, high energy mining hardware that will, very likely, net owners a negative ROI as difficulties go higher and profitabilities per MH, GH, or TH fall lower

Fees have been set intentionally high and will be adjusted in a fork soon to a more appropriate level. I highly suggest solo mining this coin instead of mining on a pool until the fees are changed. You will not be able to move coins around until the fees are changed. This will most likely happen tomorrow

This coin was also intentionally made to be tough for pools. It is meant to be solo mined and distributed quickly so there are a lot of coins out prior to reaching the staking phase tomorrow afternoon

Not sure what we will do for the S1 giveaway, though, now that they are discontinued

@MMXIV, I never win these type of things ever, however that hardly matters I just stay focused with my daily bottom line. Frankly I earn three times more mining MMXIV than mining Bitcoin. That is something real instead of day dreaming for machines. That is why MMXIV is so important, we might never get a chance like this again. This is like walking onto the Bitcoin scene in 2011 except with far better gear to mine and much friendlier front end software for mining. I am not letting this chance of getting ahead to just slip on by like I have with others including LTC. Its MMXIV all the way!!!

Here's an idea..

As this coin is listed as this year, and lists all things relevant in a timeline leading up to this year;

Maybe have a donation option to various history departments in schools and universities, drumming up the interest for history and the history in the making of crypto currency.

Contact donations departments of universities and say you would like to add a mmxiv donation button on their sites in particular for their history students.
Setup a wallet viewable on the chain for everyone to see, exchange the mmxiv donations for btc, and transfer to university in cash funds from an exchange service like bitpay.

it would be cool to be able to send just a small portion of the year (.5 mmxiv for example) to contribute in the education of history and history in the making...  Using an exchange service would increase interest in cryptos at said university/college/school and in particular MMXIV.  Could have the possibility of integrating further with and exchange service in the future.    Wink

If its history you're making, promote the study of history!

@arteleis, this is one of the better ideas that I have heard in a long time!!!

I bought 40 Blackcoin at CryptoALTeX Exchange and withdrew the 40 BC to my Blackcoin wallet at CryptoRush and was looking forward to trading those 40 BC at the price at that time which was around 4.5 BTC. I had never dealt with Blackcoin and knew nothing about it.

The comments from the developer of Blackcoin are typical and common place in this business. I have been around this industry primarily Bitcoin and later on Litecoin for over 2 years and for the most part think we have all come a long way. However geeks are geeks so don't expect to much unless you pay them what they think this intrusion into their program is worth for them to fix the issue.

As far as a DDos I think its becoming way to easy of a way to balance books out. 'Gee, we lost so you must loose all your coins to because our website has a disclaimer. I believe wholeheartedly and trust CruptoRush one hundred percent however other exchanges I have zero trust in. CryptoRush is the most professional exchange I have ever seen. We need to be worried about loosing them to this massive hit.

However I think these other exchanges need to be called on their claims of DDoS and every time they claim one I think independent 3rd party IT professionals need to figure out a way if its even possible to somehow vet the claim of DDoS independently and report their findings to the public if this is even possible to do so. We should request this proof not from the exchange who could doctor it up but through independent research using tried and true or even newly developed methodologies if its even possible to do so.

My username is norcalnewbie707 and I wave the 40 Blackcoin I lost and only hope that the great people at CryptoRush can recover from this along with the Blackcoin community here who I am unfamiliar with but regret that as coming here and seeing the Blackcoin community work together with each other is very impressive of a site. I would recommend to all to take advantage of these times and if choosing a coin to get involved with you must look to its community and Blackcoin is an example of one that is far superior to most.

I wish I could do more.

40 BC is not 4.5 btc....
I fuckin wish... because I just sold roughly 10k btc (5k at cryptorush before this fiasco at .000046 and then 5k at poloniex at .000082)

@themightyex,

As I was waiting for my deposit to show up at CryptoRush the price appeared to go Sky high like to 0.1 BTC and I calculated what the 40+ would be and it read 4.5 BTC, so either my eyes were playing tricks on me which I doubt or it was a system error or really that price. So that was what I thought was coming. I never handled Blackcoin before so I had no idea where it should be but it was convincing because there were buy and sell orders up and down on each side all near 0.1 BTC each. However the Blackcoin I sent never made it there or it did but did not register. My guess is your sales a little while before it all started and probably missed getting some seriously high prices for you coins because it looked from the outside like others were utilizing the situation to their benefit, but that is just a guess.

Next time f___ing wish a little harder ;-)

In the two years that I have been involved with Bitcoin I have to say that in the last 10 months since I have primarily started to focus my time an energy into AltCoins, Benjamins is by far in my opinion the most advanced Cryptocoin that I have seen yet.

The Dev's or at least their staff is always on hand, the services are top rated but most of all the Benjamins Community are some of the most dedicated people in the business which in times like these its truly an extraordinary experience to see.

Plus growing up in California my whole life I have developed a remarkable sense for what is cool. When I tell people about the Benjamins I draw crowds wherever I go.

Any relationship between the BTC38 Exchange in China and the Benjamins dev team along with its great community would be truly a game changer on both sides. Its well known the integrity of the BTC38 Exchange in China. It is just as well known around here of the equally great an steadfast integrity of the Benjamin's team.

I truly hope to see Benjamins picked up in China because frankly China is where I do some of my best work myself and I look forward to its approval and implementation over there sooner than later.

Thank you!!! Good luck to all!!!!

Updated design with banner

The Hat looks good. You should put an edge around the coin so it gives it the look of a real coin. Did you illustrate this by hand or this a modified image from one of the proprietary software programs?

Is there any news on who won the logo contest yet? There is some interesting work in that regard. I think any copyrighted material used, unless it is illustrated by hand should probably not be used for long term adaption or ever in any type of competition.

I think he's on a holiday.

No marketing, no news, no updates..or any information. He just doesn't care..earned big bucks with his shitcoin and doesn't care what happens next.

Fucking shame...don't start a coin than asshole, people have waisted time and power in it
.

I liked the coin from the beginning. I even had a World Famous Artist friend do a coin logo for the contest hoping that it would have the same rising effect as Netcoin did when I helped them. However the artist keeps asking me who won the contest and I still have no idea. I sent 4 messages to this guy that runs this coin and not one response back. I could give a sh_t less who he is people will have little confidence in a coin when there is nobody that is in charge. You guys need to appoint someone to take the lead here if this coin is going to make it.Maybe that is what this geek that is in charge wants in the first place. He would not be the first and most certainly will not be the last to walk away from a coin project.
