1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 🔉 Aleph.im Staking Launch TODAY on: December 18, 2020, 03:52:52 PM
The launch will happening in the coming hours via the official Telegram group, Twitter account and Medium Blog:
https://t.me/alephim
https://twitter.com/aleph_im
https://medium.com/aleph-im

Aleph.im’s mission is to help decentralized apps and protocols strip off the centralized parts of their stack, achieving a fully decentralized architecture. It achieves this by providing decentralized databases (including file storage), computation and a decentralized identification (DID) framework. You can think of aleph.im as a decentralized AWS or firebase.

Aleph.im is already compatible with Ethereum, Polkadot, Cosmos, BinanceChain and more. With this launch it will be able to accommodate larger DApps (i.e. NFT-related DApps needing a lot of storage space for their NFT Metadata).

Aleph.im did not do an ICO, nor any private sale round or such. You can see the project's track record, and future roadmap on the medium blog, twitter and website.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ICO would you suggest for February and March? on: March 22, 2018, 07:52:51 AM
PikcioChain ICO. I think this project is really worth a look.
Some big partners: NEO, OnChain, CapGemini, Ernest&Young, PwC.
The project's main product is well on its way, the company us already profitable with BNP (French Bank) as one of the clients.

Hey guys, here is a quick overview of Atlas.work ICO ($WORK) I think is worth sharing with your community.

This is not financial advice, do your due diligence before investing. And mind the scammers: they are particularly active in the field of ICOs.

Note that Atlas.work ($WORK) and WorkCoin ($WRK) are different projects. It seems that WorkCoin is trying to steal Atlas.work's idea, c.f. https://twitter.com/AtlasWorkCoin/status/968209697017917447

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: February 22, 2018, 05:01:17 AM
I think it's becoming a joke the extent to which coinmarketcap.com's crazy "circulating supply" default reporting policy is now being gamed to death by opportunistic token creators.

This is decentralised crypto, not some regulated stock issuance governed by contractural processes. If the coins are generated on the blockchain they are all in circulation. The blockchain does not make any liquidity distinction between one wallet and another - they are homogeneous, not heterogeneous which is the whole point of a blockchain anyway.

Hey, the coins in my wallet are "not circulating" ! Do I get to exclude them from the reported supply to increase the per-coin price ? Why should some wallet holders be allowed to do this and not others ?

Worst of all, the wallet holders who are allowed to have their wallet contents excluded from the CMC default marketcap are usually the people who created the tokens in the first place.

Can you get any bigger a conflict of interest than that ?

This market's building the dotcom bubble from hell and the ludicrous CMC "circulating supply" policy is one of the main engines fuelling it.

...

I agree, the whole "circulating supply" topic is a mess. And most investors do not know about that until the day they want to run analysis on ICOs or any other analysis that needs historical data.

Token distribution is the base so I would expect a website or sort of organization dedicated to this task.

----

Here is the real question to which I think the answer is "No":

Is there any website dedicated to tracking history of circulating tokens of any coin?

Ideally, for each time a crypto has tokens added or removed to its circulating amount, we'd want to know:

  • amount
  • exact date
  • sent to whom (even if burnt, we want the address)

A “proof” for each change (coins added/removed to circulation) should be provided from an official source: official website, blog, twitter, blockchain explorer, email from team, else. This is a very important point because we have seen in several instances that data shown on CoinMarketCap is incorrect.

----

Here is the simplified version of the above question to which I think the answer is again "No":

Is there any website dedicated to tracking amount of distributed tokens of any coin?

Ideally, for each coin:

  • init circulation - along with proof
  • current circulation - along with proof
  • total supply - along with proof

“along with proof” means an official source: official website, blog, twitter, blockchain explorer, email from team, else. This is a very important point because we have seen in several instances that data shown on CoinMarketCap is incorrect.

----

Thanks in advance for helping the community sort that out. We desperately need higher quality in the crypto data we all access.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥🚀[ANN][ICO] CLN - A Decentralized Payment System for Local Economies🔥🚀 on: February 16, 2018, 10:17:52 AM
So it looks like there is a discount for the Colu Local Network ($CLN) token sale. I read the white paper and the token sale paper and nothing was mentioned about that.

That "could" be ok if some sort of explanation was given and if this was not "spontaneously" proposed by a team member of the Colu project. On top of that, she was pushing for my contribution, acting like a salesman.

I've analysed and seen many things in the ICO field. But that's the first time I see this. My interpretation is rather negative so I'll stay away from the project.

See the screenshots of the conversation with the sales person from Colu.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] VideoCoin - Decentralized Video Encoding, Storage, and CDN | VID on: January 29, 2018, 09:57:27 AM
We have an update on coin specifications:

Total Supply: 1,025.00 (Millions)
Type: PoW + PoS
Supply Breakdown: 70% Miners / Network  15% ICO (unsold tokens proposed to burn) 15% Development

25% of VideoCoins generated by the Network’s block rewards process and burns them, thereby reducing the outstanding token supply. VideoCoin intends to operate the Clip Program for a minimum of 5 years, this process will then be reviewed after the term.

Where did you get this information? I can't find this on the website nor on the white paper

15  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Official Quoine Exchange Thread on: January 19, 2018, 12:53:21 PM
I have a problem with Quoine exchange not providing any usable trade reporting for accounting purposes. All other exchanges do this no problem ( I use cointracking.info which is very very good).  There is a trade report tab on Quoine which says that it will email you a copy of your trade report. What they send unfortunately does not include any crypto to crypto
trades, only fiat to crypto or crypto to fiat trades.  If you trade the QASHBTC pair, those trades will not appear on the trade report. (This probably explains why I have never received a trade report from Qryptos exchange, since all those trades are crypto to crypto.)
Nowhere on the website are any double entry trades listed. Everything can only be viewed from the point of view of one currency at a time as single sided entries without knowing what was on the other side of the trade. There is no way to copy and paste this info off the website into a spreadsheet ( like you can do with every other exchange I've tried.)
All you can do in MANUALLY write down every trade from the point of view of each currency, and manually match the trades based on time and similarity of trade ref numbers.
This is ridiculous. Please try to catch up to professional exchanges, and produce at least a minimum five column trade report
e.g.  Buy Amount,  Buy Currency,  Sell Amount,  Sell Currency,  Date/Time

Planet19

This totally makes sense. Not being able to extract trading reports of quality is a huge turn down for many of us.

Please plan this for the next improvements. Thank you Quoine team.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Probably the most in-depth analysis of the Liquid Qash project ($QASH) on: January 16, 2018, 09:21:19 AM
We just published what is probably the most in-depth analysis of the Liquid Qash project (of Quoine Pte Ltd). Ticker: $QASH

The analysis goes through: the team, the organization behind it, the other projects, the advisors, the tech, the ICO, the marketing, and so on.

https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@ipa-news/liquid-qash-analysis-in-detail-usdqash

QASH, as of now (mid Jan 2018), is on the 46th position on CoinMarketCap, valued at approx. 700 million USD - it somehow flew under the radar of most crypto investors.
