OK! First I am not a stupid fool. I am a computer scientist...

You are not only a computer scientist (they still exist?), you are a very patient person to go through all that typing.

Good job.

FINALLY!!! MY DEPOSIT CAME THROUGH!!!

THANKS NEW DEVS & YOBIT!!!  Cheesy

I really hope everything turns out ok for everyone else. I'm sure they will. 🙏

(Hopefully PAC is cheap enough now for me to get more.)

Still stuck here

OH - and the wallets have not been modified - especially not the exchanges like Bill is accusing.  That is false.

What was sent to the exchange?

Why are there so many blocks at the same height on the paccoinexplorer?
http://paccoinexplorer.us:3001/

I don't know Bill, not very technical about this, what's your perception?

WHAT APP DOES THIS WALLET WANT ME TO INSTALL?

Why is this wallet so complicated and change everyday on my pc?
This is getting really frustrating.

Cant the so called Devs help with this?

When I click on run the Paccoin_installer.exe file it tells me to install an app and to get apps from the store.....

I'm just a random pedestrian, all I remembered was that the wallet took a long time to sync and had to make exclusions on windows defender.

I don't think Bill is online at the moment, but you could certainly try the discord channel.  Which I can't really help you because I have been banned.

The link is here.  They are quite knowledgeable and I'm sure eager to help you.

Obviously I'm not comfortable with someone having remote access to my pc.
I'm not trying to transfer any coins at this time, just want my wallet to load again and see that my millions of coins are still there!

I cant even find my paccoin file anymore.

Ouch, that would be a big issue... can you still see your wallet.dat file?

yeah but every file is icon with the opera browser and not a file!

Right click on the icon and select "open file location", try to recover the dat file at least.

It would suck if those are gone.

I also just realized that all of my back up files are icon on my desktop through opera browser and not an actual file to open. When i click on it, it just says download complete and adds another file to my downloads of files on my pc, but nothing happens.

This is getting more and more frustrating especially that we are closer to the new wallet.

I'm afraid to wipe everything off my pc from paccoin wallets etc as I feel Ill loose everything.....

This is fucking sucks ass big time.

The thing I don't get is was working fine until that quarantine shit started and I was able to reload then, but now file failed everywhere....

Hi there, don't do anything...

I think one of the mods in discord may be able to remote support you (using remote desktop).

It's also not the best time to send or receive coins since the two major exchanges are stuck.

I know, it sucks to be at where we are

Hello friends
On "https://wallets.paccoin.net/#windows" There are three wallets to download. Which one is a wallet for the old PACcoin? and which one is for a new PACcoin?

1- DOWNLOAD - MEGA.NZ Mirror #1
2- DOWNLOAD - Windows Wallet Mirror #2
3- DOWNLOAD - Windows Wallet Mirror #3 (OLDER VERSION)

thanks for your guide Smiley

I have used #2 at first and had no issues until it was being quarantined by my pc, which I resolved.
I had since used the MEGA, which did the same thing with the quarantine but same thing happened, but this time no more quarantine issues as it simply wont work at all.
The wallet is off my pc and i cant load anything anymore, i get this message

ShellExecuteEx failed; code - 1073740791

I have no idea what that means and am worried i cannot get to my wallet again.
I have also since tried re-downloading from the site but that goes to an error page as well.

Any help is much appreciated.

Hi there, before you do anything, probably back up your entire installation folder:
C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\paccoin

Pay attention to your dat files.

I have no problem downloading from the Mega.nz site.

Make sure windows defender set the directory as part of exclusion.

Install the wallet.  Recopy the dat.

Try run under compatibility mode (vista sp2 worked for me) and under administrator privilege.  Restore wallet.dat.

Good luck.

If you guys keep this up, theres going to be a lawsuit, quit pretending you are paccoin.

A lawsuit on what?? This is a decentralized coin without any registered trademark, or you did it?
Be serious, here are not only kids.

How about collaborating with new dev team? It would be useful to everyone!

I wonder who paid the fee to list on Cryptopia

hey man, per your experience, have you heard of exchange perform this kind of "coin redemption" before?  I'm digging through the web, can't find any event similar like this one

Apparently Nova Exchange offered this service before. The idea is that if a developer has a new coin and wants to end his old coin, he asks the exchange to perform the swap.

As the swap goes the old coin is ended, and the new coin proceeds.

The difference here is the old coin Paccoin is not going to end because I'm not letting that happen. I was told that Paccoin wasn't going to die, but when I go to the paccoin redemption site, it appears that they want to go from old pac to new pac. This is troubling because that is not what Saul told me. If Saul wants to simply offer a RCO a redemption coin offering as he calls it, so that people buy paccoin and use it to buy another altcoin such as paccoin cash, thats fine by me. But I didn't agree to him using the Paccoin name for a new coin. If he wants to call it paccoin cash and use the name $PAC again I have no problem with this.
I just cant have him calling his new coin paccoin.

You see, that's what troubles me, by the current announcement it means that anyone could talk to the exchange and get them to commit swap.  Lets says I recompile pac with different logo, go to exchange and tell them Im the dev of prl, ask them to do swap the current prl to the pseudo pac
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] paccoin a new SHA256D coin is being introduced on: January 25, 2018, 04:01:33 PM
wmcorless is not the dev. The patch was sent by the new devs. Corless is just trying take control of the old coin back by causing confusion.

No that is not true, I am the only developer for paccoin. the new developers are trying to use paccoin for paccoin cash. I am concerned that they do not have paccoins best interest at heart.

And as an investor, I am concerned that you don't have MY best interests at heart.

The new devs literally flew and met personally with Cryptopia to initiate the swap. If they're not the true devs they shouldn't be able to do that. And they have the legal rights to Pac Coin, which you gave up. So you are not the Dev.

Words such as these are more misleading then anything else:  So you are not the Dev
He has repeatedly told us that he is developer of the coin, which is true, and
he is not the developer of PACCASH ($PAC).  Cheesy

ps: I am posting this is due to the fact that it takes weeks for me to start to understand what's going on. It would be problematic for any newbies coming here for quick answers.

Just to be fair, Jeffrey who visited cryptopia (again, not sure if it really happened or not as cryptopia is kind of quiet about it) is not one of the devs, he's the admin of that discord channel, i think he lives in auckland new zeland

Dear Crypto. Mr Cordless may be wrong but he is polite. I mean he does not say bad words, instead he chooses them carefully. Most people doesn’t have the knowledge to understand what you are saying, or to differentiate truth from false. From my point of view the problem is philosophical as it revolves on different schemes of technical productivity and the human behaviour associated with it. The original code wasn’t faulty… it was designed in that way. A design that work before with a firefly but can’t handle a dragon. Faulty as it was, the coin survived. Therefore the development that we shall see in the next weeks, (as its going to be fixed in the new version) is going to be amazing… If the code didn’t have that problems-by-design, we would not have this opportunity now.

I agree, I should keep my temper better, but I have to disagree that Bill lying to people that anything I did broke his coin is the opposite of polite behavior. He knows I did nothing to hurt PAC and his libelous statements deserve no respect, praise, nor support. Using me as a scapegoat for his coin's faults, especially when I tried to help him out, is just disgusting. It shows his character -- or lack thereof as it were.

breakcrypto

Hey man, you are a good guy.  I think matter is much deeper than technical issues.

I think corless may have a higher risk here as he is not difficult to find (if things go south)

Oh so my coins will automatically be swapped in cryptopia? Thank you.

swapping coins on an exchange is usually known as trading. you can trade paccoin for a number of coins.

there are two things that I find illogical:
1. Nobody could release patch without consent from the original devs, what was sent to cryptopia and yobit that caused the current issue?
2. Automatic "swap", how on earth could exchange agree to a representative's request?

I thought on github, release of patch is not possible without the dev's approval, in this case, corless.

Bill, do you see the Yobit wallet being sync'ed soon? Got a lot of coin held hostage now.

I know what you mean, I sent 26 million to Yobit on the 17th, so I'm waiting for it to arrive also.

Note to self breakcrypto sent me the "patch" 2 days before the exchanges went down... Hmmm.... coincidence?

My "patch" didn't cause anything to your coin accept attempt to fix it for you -- it's never been used as far as I know outside of me testing it on my own system for all of 5 minutes to see the chain stabilize its height and properly keep the TX from the mempool. The test run lost out to the main-chain trust score nearly instantaneous and was a segregated chain -- you know by what the crypto world calls consensus which is how networks work -- not that I think you understand any of that.

Beyond that, how is it even possible my alleged fork could break your "working" code? If someone could so easily fork your damn chain then your chain doesn't work anyway. The simple fact is your code is shitty and it doesn't work right. Hell, it's damn easy to verify that my patch would simply cause a stable side fork based on height instead of trust alone -- nothing else. Your PoS / trust logic controls the main chain. For what you keep lying about to even POSSIBLY be true, I'd somehow need have connections to all of the exchanges to have had anyone on the "fork."

Wow, just wow. You're either stupid or obtuse and I can't decide which -- probably just both.

At the very least, if you want to pretend to be peercoin, then you need to backport properly which you aren't doing. If your chain is forking and not back-porting TX properly, the "rewrite" and "resurrect" logic is terribly broken at the very least. Fix your shitty code or base your chain on height and keep your chain stable -- take your pick.

Either way, as I've said, don't blame me for it -- look in the mirror or to whoever you paid to write that pile of junk. If the exchanges pulled your coin it's because it's broken you dumb shit not because someone tried to help you.

Hi breakcrypto, what did the new devs sent to cryptopia and yobit?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] paccoin a new SHA256D coin is being introduced on: January 24, 2018, 03:40:02 AM

I didn't use any program, I transferred my coins from Cryptopia to Yobit, and then my coins got stuck. So it's due to your blockchain and wallets problems, not by any mistake on my end.

So if it's by mining as you said, then that's the problem. Take it out of the code and let it run by pure POS only, then your coin will be fixed and everyone can live happily ever after.

Well it should show up once cryptopia and yobit's wallets are synced up. The linux wallets are more susceptible to the fork issue the "patch" causes. They take longer to sync up, so I recommended they rebuild their block chains. It took my site 4 days to sync up.

Hi Bill, what does it mean by veternus, when he posted comments about that the new devs released a patch to cryptopia and yobit?

I mean, could anybody just make a patch and send to exchanges?  Or such statement is just a placebo statement?
