Same steps, then head up on firmware

What do you mean? I rolled it back to the previous one... same issues still.

Spoke too soon. It's already doing it again. I'll have to go back to an earlier firmware

hi, I keep getting HTML errors from my S3... started this week. I've changed nothing on it. Does anyone know how to fix this?

download backup, update to the latest firmware and restore again

should fix it

Thank you. It's running the latest firmware, however. Should I overwrite it?

Also, do I check that little box to save settings? Or leave it unchecked?

When you say restore, am I returning the firmware that I just updated to fix it? Or am I missing something - maybe to save settings only. Thanks.

13  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S3 Setup [HD] on: September 25, 2014, 11:51:57 PM
Dogie, as always your set up guides are very helpful. Thank you. I just got my first S3 from batch 9 today. Yeah, I know, late in the game, upgrading from my S1.

I've ordered the suggested antenna to add to it, for wifi.

A few questions:

1) Would it be better just to run the wire for the antenna out one of the PCI e plug holes in the top? Or is it better to drill and mount the thing.. seems a bit tricky to mount it each time with a 7" cable.

2) Also, I had problems setting up the Wifi on the S1 initially. Are there instructions for setting that up someplace? I don't see that on p. 1.

3) How do I overclock it? What's the best overclock guide? Is there a step by step someplace?

Right now the unit is on BTC Guild running at:

GH/S(5s) 456.44 - 468.92

GH/S(avg) 470.53

This thing was up in less than 10 minutes, but it seems odd that they don't include the short wire for the wifi when the card is included on the unit. At least the S1 had the pigtail thingy to screw on an antenna, which I took off another system.

Thanks again, Dogie!

CoinEx = NOT Goxed. They've been down before, they've always come back and have always made good. You haters make me a bit ill.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BETA][EXCHANGE][REALTIME] CoinEX realtime exchange on: March 31, 2014, 03:57:06 AM
CoinEx is online. Only BTC & LTC withdrawals will work yet, rest will come next week.
Please note that we don't have enough funds for *all of you* to withdraw *all of your funds* so please only do so if you really need it.
We have security audit pending with nccgroup.com, will post more details as it goes on.

Thanks for your patience,
- erundook

Good job, guys. I'm glad to see my favorite exchange/pool back in action!
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BETA][EXCHANGE][REALTIME] CoinEX realtime exchange on: March 21, 2014, 04:04:59 PM
I have watched the comments, attempted hijacking, slagging, ass kissing, help, anger and all the other emotions from this incident.

For what its worth, here are my comments/input - take what you want, throw away what you don't:

Transparency in public relations earns the communities respect, be transparent, be quick to respond and ensure that you are keeping customers informed.
-- Trust me, it is the best strategy, happens all the time in my industry and those that choose this path, always are rewarded for their honesty, communications and earn the respect of their customers and the community.

-- replace your maintenance page with an update = This is what happened, here is where we are at, this is what we are doing, this is when customers should expect the return of their coins, you can/can't keep mining with our pools, etc... prob take 15 minutes to write, just ensure what you write you will do.
-- tweet daily to say "we are still here" working on getting ____ and ____ done, on track...
-- update your facebook page
-- listen to the community, communicate, you have a strong customer following, be loyal, they are to you

Coinex is the best exchange/mining combination out there today (imho), improve the security, preform audits, set up a honeypot, cut a reputable security firm into the profit equation to monitor, audit and fix any potential issues.  If you can't get this done in a reasonable time frame, don't let this stop you doing what you said you would do:

When someone says they will do something, do it.  In this example, you say you will return coins, you have in the past, this is what customers are counting on, make it happen.

For those thread hijackers, your exchange will not get any of my future business.  Opportunism has its place, when people have lost their coins, some of their earnings, it so tasteless for you to do that, you should have deleted your post, negativity is growing towards your exchange.

I could go on...  but won't

Waiting to see what happens next, earn respect, trust and loyalty, or fuk the community and his own reputation...

Happy days!

yea man keep screwing us in the ass... somebody has to say it right?  security should be #1, maybe you will learn next time, but for now I will never keep my shit on coinex ever, going to cryptsy.

Bwahahaha - Cryptsy is a vacuum where coins go in and only some come out. Enjoy the half a day to 2 month delays getting your coins out of there. If you see a deal and want to make a trade and make some profit - and move your coins quickly - forget it.

They're a gox waiting to happen - IMHO. I get emails filled with excuses every few days from Cryptsy for coins they lost 2 months ago. They repeatedly close unresolved tickets, sending the same BS excuses each time they do. They've taken NO action, but to make excuses, and lying about the last email each time they send a new one. I withdrew all money I could from there (which was a decent sum). The process took a month. Some missing coins only showed up this week. Others are still MIA.

Learn to use paper wallets. Learn not to keep more than you can afford to lose at any time on an online site.

CoinEx and Captainfuture have always taken care of things quickly, CS tickets, etc, and are days / weeks faster than Cryptsy for trading and moving your coins around. If you do a withdrawal from CoinEx it's IN YOUR WALLET nearly always within 3 seconds. They have always responded to tech support within hours - if not minutes. People call Cryptsy "Craptsy" for a good reason.

When you get your first set of excuses and delays from Cryptsy, complain to no one. I have dozens of emails here that would floor you on their back peddling, total lack of action, etc, and I've caught their employees even going to other websites and forums to troll and make sure that people don't expose the Cryptsy nonsense - rather than fixing the problem.

CoinEx is by far my favorite trade site. It's miserable having to mine and transfer to make trades. CoinEx made everything nice and easy: buyers on the front end, miners on the back end.

Withdraw your mining profits daily and don't fret when you lose 24 hours of hashing. I lost maybe $40 in there - plus some OSC that I'd not created a wallet for.

My god, after all the Mt. Gox crap the idea that people would still store hundreds or thousands of dollars of coins online is insane. These coins are worth money - they ARE money. Pay attention. Hackers will do all they can to steal. Major bank sites are hacked all the time. Even Target stores were targeted recently - the hackers totally successful. Banks and credit card companies are hacked all the time.

Learn to protect yourself. Learn encryption. Learn paper wallets. Keep your funds in the block chain where it would take the failure of the entire global internet to lose your coins.

ffftfffft!

There is another idea worth think about.
If funds were really stolen it is quite hard to replace them quick. What about coinex refund people who will agree to such deal in coinex shares?
Also we need a little transparency - we need to know what was stolen. Only btc or any other coins too?

Not a bad idea.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BETA][EXCHANGE][REALTIME] CoinEX realtime exchange on: March 18, 2014, 07:51:43 PM
Please stop posting FUD about CoinEx, we will issue an announcement within next 24hrs about how we are going to handle the situation.

Long story short: yes, our wallet server got hacked and all funds were withdrawn.

Please read back to the beginning of this thread, we had such a problem before and *returned all the stolen funds from our own pockets*. Before this hack happened, we also had several attacks that lost funds and we silently covered those from our fees.

For those who was stalking me at internets: thats true, i was trying to hide/delete my accounts. At the very first moment i saw zero balance at our bitcoin wallet i knew this was coming. And it scared the shit out of me. Hope you can understand that.
About me selling bitcoins at localbitcoins.com: thats true too. I have 33mh/s scrypt gpu mining farm, I have >50% of coinex fees + I get % from cryptostocks share sells. Nothing criminal here again.

So again, please calm down. We are not doing a runner.

The only way i can see to restore this is to sell more shares at cryptostocks to cover the losses *and to hire a professional security audit team to prevent this from happening again*.
Long story short, we're covering this from our own pockets again.

Thanks
- erundook

Thanks for the announcement. CoinEx is one of my favorite exchanges because things actually work quickly, and I'm not waiting for funds for hours, days or months, such as from Cryptsy.

I had about $20 to $40 or so on the site - not too bad, and withdrew mining profits daily. You guys have always responded to my help tickets in an hour or two or less. You've always taken care of things.

While security and not having a double verification system is obviously risky, and while the site obviously needs security improvements, I'll be back if you are.

Losing .65 LTC, .015 BTC, half an Uno and some other shit coins mined in 24 hours before the hack won't kill me. Though I did want those open source coins. Damnit.

I hope you recover, get some insurance, and better security. I don't like to use Cryptsy.

Hey guys,

I've put this guide on my site and am looking for feedback. Do you prefer the guide on the forum, how it looks on the site or both? Any other thoughts?

http://dogiecoin.weebly.com/asicminer-cube.html (soon to be dogiecoin.com)

Thanks, it looks good. I'll check it out more closely in the AM. You may want to inform people of using a switch and 2700 RPM fan. Mine shut off every 5 min for a month until I did this. Thanks for all your effort to support everyone. These machines can be a nightmare.
