1  Other / Off-topic / Re: Whats is your IQ? on: January 08, 2014, 04:17:23 AM
I don't really think online IQ tests are a very good indicator of intelligence, to be fair.

They aren't, most of them involve maths questions and I'm pretty shit at maths.

Well those arent really the "real iq" test. As far as i know a real iq test is universal so you can take it, asia man can take, man in africa living in a cage can take it...

thats the real iq tests, no math or language skills needed really...

But yeah i agree that online tests arent the most reliable tests (even the ones that look ok), but its still the best test i took, the best place would be to go to your local mensa club and try a test there (or in any other place that is certificate to do so) but who has the time/(maybe money) or mainly interest to go to such places.

The JCTI is a good one that (I think) is pretty widely accepted. Available for free online: http://www.cogn-iq.org/?page_id=734

take a look at daniel tammet for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbASOcqc1Ss

Wow, so cool!

PrintMule: I'm currently also working on a game myself... unfortunately being able to draw doesn't make it simple to build a game.

How grand is your game idea? Maybe we should team up? What platform are you interested in? Desktop or mobile?

I can do flash, android, html5,  maybe iOS and somewhat slow windows target.

EDIT: easiest thing artist could code probably would be an adventure game like Broken sword or Full throttle. It's also the most profitable idea for artists.

Full Throttle, HAH! Good times, good times. :D Bet you can't get Mark Hamill to do any voice-acting for "The Adventures of David Smit" though.

Hey everyone! After much deliberation, I've decided to go with one of Caskal's designs.

Everyone did such a wonderful job and I have been agonizing over this decision for many days.

Thanks again!

oooo, may we know which one!

'grats Caskal, you do lovely work - it's a well-earned victory. c:

All things in moderation, friend... that includes drop shadows. x_x

I'd also like to take advantage of the generous offer.

I could use a logo for CryptoCrock. Something that's kind of funny, kind of like the image on the homepage. Feel free to be creative - the funnier the better.
Without a doubt the weirdest thing I've ever seen available for btc. Tongue

Shatas, your work is great! That logo you posted earlier in the thread for cryptocoins is gorgeous! Doing five jobs for free is enormously generous, but you shouldn't sell yourself short. Your work speaks for itself, and you deserve fair compensation for it. Offering a bunch of design work for free may only serve to attract a bunch of tightwads scrabbling for a handout rather than discerning customers who are willing to pay for quality work.

I am tired of seeing the members here fall for the 'logo contest' scams that are popping up frequently.
So true. If you want quality work, a design contest is not how you get it. That said, there are plenty of cheapskates willing to settle for second rate work, and plenty of amateur designers to satisfy their needs. Let 'em have their fun I say.

caskal has some truly good looking work, I was very impressed with his portfolio. Hopefully he drops you a line. c:
7  Economy / Services / Re: New bitcoin price alert/notification service, text/SMS and email support on: December 19, 2013, 12:40:07 AM
Sounds like a great idea, though I am afraid of mass texts/notifications because of how volatile bitcoin prices are.
Agreed, I get annoyed when my inbox gets spammed with crap too often. There's a nice free desktop gadget for Win7 that serves the same purpose and works well (when you're at the computer anyway): http://domchi.cc/mybitcoins/

Not to steal your thunder or anything, coinpatrol. Smiley It's a good looking site! Maybe eventually a smartphone app to go with it that can send push notifications rather than texts?

Beautiful, caskal! Love the balance of the first one, and the soft colors in the fourth. Not digging the font choice in the #3 but I see where you were coming from with it.

These are the first entries that seem to have some genuine design sensibilities invested into them, rather than relying exclusively on current trends like alternating font color/weight.

"ObamaCoin Promises Change"

Experts say the new altcoin’s infrastructure is much more solid than those of predecessors.  It’s a massive national network of pneumatic tubes.  Transactions, scrawled on government stationery, are dispersed to Post Office nodes by governmental suction.
HAH! Love it! xD

Great concept, look forward to reading more.

Just a note to some of you more recent entries - the OP specifically stated a few pages back that he doesn't want a logo with stacked elements, i.e. he prefers imagery and text to both be on a single line.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: mtgox question on: December 13, 2013, 04:50:27 PM
I got the same problem. Mine is even worse, they do not verify my identify. It has been two months!!   Cry
I was waiting for verification for over three weeks - this morning I submitted an irate support ticket and my verification was approved within the hour. You might try hounding them, certainly there's nothing to lose by doing so.

Next step is to try and transfer btc out. From what I understand MtGox is slow as hell, but they don't seem to actively scam their users, do they?
