Could we get some form of BTC/MH profit chart or table?  It would be really helpful.   Smiley

Try this. http://stats.hashco.ws/en/profit

Which exchange do you use to convert BTC to $?

I keep all my BTC in cold storage. Don't plan on selling any time soon.

Like the guy a few posts back, I joined hashcows about a week before the hack, and have lurked on this forum ever since then, registering today so I could LECTURE and THRUST my half-baked opinions upon you all (as seems to be the trend here), and I have to agree with everything that was said; Whenever payouts have been low (ignoring the general downtrend in alt-trading and BTC in general, its not anyone's job to explain economics to you), atriz and nearmiss have always explained why payouts were low, and if you have the patience to sift through all the whining and butthurt, you can find all those announcements, followed by hilarious sarcasm, abuse and drinking games from that Jedi fella, waaaaay back in this thread...

This last week, payouts have been great, the best I've seen here in a long time - I'm guessing thats from the sites hashrate slowly recovering, and a few good days for alts in general, I've moved all my miners back here and I'm hoping people who were here pre-hack start to regain the confidence that they had when they were praising the cows for paying back coins that were stolen back in December. I didn't lose anything because I'm not stupid enough to trust you with my electricity money, but I want to say thanks, well done and all that jazz to nearmiss and atriz for that one, I would DEFINITELY have been in the 'aaah fuck this' camp in your situation. Cut and run baby, cut and run! You clearly have better morals than I do. Oh and congrats on the baby nearmiss, I hope everything is going well for you, and the bloodbath that is childbirth hasn't put you off lovemaking forever...

Anyway...

Yes, the stats here suck ass. They always have done I think, but I don't mine to look at stats, I mine so I don't have to do what everyone else does; work 5 days to enjoy 2. I think some of the whiners on this page would do well to go and work a proper job and wake up to how easy the income is with mining coins. I used to work 80hours/week in a sweatbox of a kitchen to make this kind of money... "In my day we used to work 20 hours a day mining Cryptos in the fields... In the snow! In JUNE!...." Etc...

I've been getting about 0.013/MH/day, averaged out over 7 days. If you've only tested for a few hours or even a day, you can encounter a shitty few hours, or even just a slow trading day on the pool and is not very representative of actual payouts. Mine longer, do some maths. As for the guys having zero payouts, and level 9000 anger, I would fire a message off to atriz, and then give him a day or two to answer. Your experience of the site doesn't seem right to me.

I'm not going to be stupid enough to say 'stop whining', after all, i'm not your boss, and whining sometimes gets shit done. But please learn to read the posts before yours, even just a couple of pages back. Nobody is going to jump on you for not reading something that was said 3 weeks ago, but the least you can do is read the post above yours before posting, it would save an awful lot of scrolling through endless comments and angry replies, which in turn might even ya know, make a community or something...

Tl;dr  Hashcows seems to be back to normal. Patience is a virtue. Don't watch childbirth. Ever.

+1^

I've been mining here since late November (stayed mining through everything) with 3.2 MH/s. Had some good weeks, had some bad weeks, but they have ALL been reasonable weeks. Mined a little over 3.8 BTC in that time.

Some calculations for you all:

~14.5 Weeks
~101 Days

3.8 BTC / (101 Days * 3.2 MH/s) = ~.0118 BTC/ MH/s /Day

Hope that puts some fears to rest (assuming anyone reads this before rage posting).

P.S. Thanks for all the MONIES Atriz and Nearmiss it's a lot easier mining on here than working my day job...

Only the displayed hash rate drops because it is calculated from the last 5 or so minutes of that coin, not of any coin. Actual hash rate stays the same.

Hi!

I'm new here in HC: registered like a month ago used it a few hours but i returned last night.

My question is why I can't see any change in my balance. My 2.9MH is working on the pool for 12 hours and no change in balance.

Why is that?

Balance only updates once per day.

So doge reached 100k blocks and the profitability droped? Ok I get that, but the last hour was crazy, mining doge with 4 blocks still waiting for confirmations then it switched to mega coin, after 5 minutes it switched to feathercoin to stay for 5 minutes, then again switched to anoncoin for another 5 minutes or so, to end up now mining litecoin. Well, it looks like multipool to me Cheesy, the only problem is that the hashrate drops like crazy when it jumps from one coin to another, which is never the case while mining on multipool. So we mine ltc again, ok, let's hope will stay put on that, and not jump to some other coin in 10 mins or so Wink. And what about those 4 doge blocks waiting for more confirmations, are they going to be valid and pay for them or we just wasted aprox a million shares on them Smiley 100117, 100133, 100158, 100176 when I checked they were waiting for 25, 41, 66, 84 confirmations.

Edit: all 4 above mentioned blocks been payed, thanks!
Let's see how it works on ltc now, and maybe will have the chance to mine some new (more profitable than ltc) coin in the next days, what do you think Bortmehanic do you plan to add some new coins and get rid of some obsolete ones ?

The biggest problem, the one that made me promise not to come back, was the lack of a manual withdraw option. I'm never going with a pool that lacks this again unless there's really no alternative.

I don't understand people saying there isn't any manual withdraw option... Don't set any number for automatic withdraw, then when you want to withdraw set the limit below whatever amount you have and then BOOM next block it "auto" sends your withdrawal. Sounds a lot like a manual option to me...
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: February 04, 2014, 06:20:07 PM
Seems like the profit algorithm is broken... 42 coin with 209 profitability?? Coin wars has it at about 37 which is about 10% less profitable than litecoin and it even has a lower difficulty listed then what is on the Hashcows site (22.5 vs. 27)...
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: February 02, 2014, 04:26:03 PM
Well I think not being able to farm doge is slightly hindering our performance no doubt, I've said that numerous times in this thread. Our hashrate didn't allow us to farm the bigger most profitable coins at a consistent rate so we had to adapt and add newer smaller coins to perform better.

Doge has a network hasrate of 88 GH~ so I would say around 4-5 GH would make us comfortable taking a look at it.

Any way we would be able to redirect the whole pool to a larger pool in order to smooth out earnings?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Switchercoin.com ! We mining forks - get LTC ! on: January 30, 2014, 02:16:50 PM
Increased orphan blocks in my opinion is due to the latency of the server, with a coin that has a target block time of 1 min there are a good number of people that find blocks at almost the same time. If the switchercoin server takes too long to submit our find then it is possible someone else could sneak in and submit before ours makes it.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: January 29, 2014, 04:43:53 AM
For DOGE have you thought at all about running the cows through another larger pool? We would lose 1% or so from those pools fees but it would give very steady returns in theory... Could easily be calculated into the profitability. I don't know how hard this would be to implement, but on another coin switching pool i use, when we are mining DOGE usually the user with the top hash rate is "wmpool" and has about 150mh/s I was assuming this was another pool using the larger pool to stabilize returns on larger network coins.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Switchercoin.com ! We mining forks - get LTC ! on: January 22, 2014, 12:49:11 AM
My payment arrived also in 9 hours !

Everything ok with the Pool??
My Miners are running fine but the last 2 hours, nothing changed on the amount of LTC and DOGE.

When i started mining in this pool, hash rate was @ 1800mh/s, now is @ 2400mh/s. Of course teoretically we will find more blocks, but now same amount of coins will be divided to more workers.

I've never had a problem with payouts, been mining here for about 2 months and when I started the hash rate was ~300mh/s pool is getting huge!
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Switchercoin.com ! We mining forks - get LTC ! on: January 21, 2014, 04:24:53 AM
Last 3 DOGE blocks were orphans... And they were good payouts too Sad hope nothing is wrong with the coin.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Switchercoin.com ! We mining forks - get LTC ! on: January 16, 2014, 04:24:19 AM

Saw this from Bortmehanic over at https://forum.btcsec.com/index.php?/topic/2486-switchercoincom-mainim-forki-poluchaem-ltc/page-158

So, in response to falling profitability of forks for a couple of hours for the test switch to 42Coin. Why? Because it is unclear how it is recalculated as the complexity and find blocks - often seen as a greater complexity found more units than smaller. In short, you need to test a. Maybe it is more profitable to produce clean it.
Minimal on port 42 will be reduced, but will run avtokonvertatsiya still rare. Do not want to wait for the findings themselves on a stock exchange.
Obviously the google translate has mangled it but I guess we're doing some kind of test..?

Gotcha, thanks for the update. Ill stick with it for a while and check if my payout is decent.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Switchercoin.com ! We mining forks - get LTC ! on: January 16, 2014, 03:18:13 AM
I think the coin choosing algorithm is broken. Been mining 42 for a while when profitability is <60.. Please look into this.

Just moved to this pool today, whenever it switches coins my hash rate on the site drops back to zero then slowly builds up before switching to another coin. Am I overlooking something or is this wasting hashes? Also how long does it take the coins to show up?

Thanks

hello

new to the pool ....wanted to know why my hash rate in not accurately displayed on the dashboard its all over the place from 300 to 1400. i do around 1500kh/s constantly  ....does this mean we don't get hash rate of the coin/shares?less income for us ?

thanks

The hash rate is calculated from something like the last 5 or 10 minutes of mining the current coin. After a switch the number goes to 0 because nobody has been mining that coin... I look at the ratio of pool hash ~1500MH/s to my has rate ~1.6MH/s to determine if anything is wrong. eg. if pool shows 450MH/s and my rate is around 400-500KH/s then I know everything is alright. All shares are counted it's just an issue with how the numbers are calculated to be displayed.

Why are Philosopherstone, CHNCoin and Netcoin always disabled? They are usually the highest profit coins shown on your site, but they have been disabled since I moved to this pool.

I suspect it has something to do with the exchanges, either there isn't enough demand for these coins to be able to trade them in a reasonable price range for a pool this large or something along those lines.

Hey guys. I got a blue screen yesterday and eversince my boards dont get up to my max speeds. I used to mine 720 and 220 with my 2 boards.. now i get 560ish and 210ish..which are pretty much the default speeds of the 2 boards I have. what's up with that? I'm using the exact same .bat files as before...nothing changed..

I have had a similar problem and I would guess it is a driver issue. I would try to uninstall the video drivers and reinstall first.

I had a low spec mining pc bluescreen yesterday too - I tried re-installing windows but have been unable to install the drivers for the card since - this might just be a coincidence and I fried something, or if it is linked to your problems might indicate an automatic update problem.

Might be a conflict with the BIOS and drivers. Before I say anything I would like to note that changing a BIOS can have MANY unintended consequences and can (has for me) ruin a computer. However I would try the video card manufacturer's bios as I have experienced the most stability and highest has rates with them.

Hey aTriz or any other Hashcow employee, could I get a small update please? I read back a few pages but all I'm seeing is trolls circlejerking.

I have 7+ MH/s mining with you guys for the past 48 hours or so (I've recently switched back to you after your hack) and I'm only seeing a confirmed balance of 0.02ish. Is this due to the newer fast retargeting coins and their difficulty/confirmation problems that I read about?  Or is this stat just lagging and not fully restored yet? Your pool was fantastic before the hack and I've been itching to get back on here because your pool is the best I've mined at; I have been seriously impressed with the way you all handled it and have certainly earned my trust.

I'm using cgminer 3.3.1 on half of my machines and 3.7.2 recompiled with the 5 minute stability code removed, so I know I'm on your server whenever it is up. I'm also on a high-bandwidth low-latency fiber connection.

Any light you could shed on this would be most appreciated, I will have 10MHs online soon and want to ensure I can actually pay it off at some point Cheesy

From my understanding it is a little of both, days have high variability right now because of the very long conformation times of some of the coins. This has also had an effect on the profitability because they can't be traded until a day or even 2 later. From my experience my confirmed balance never goes above about .003 (1.5Mh/s) but my account credits have been around .005 to .01. I know those numbers are low but with the alt-coin market the way it is right now i'm not sure I can expect much more...

I did not know that I had to manually set 42 coin to auto trade, if I set it now will it trade all the coins I have currently or do I have to try and do that myself?
Thanks

Edit: just read post about it not being on cryptsy yet.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: January 10, 2014, 07:49:21 PM
12 hours of mining on 6 MH/s and Current Balance = 0.00340932
Are you kidding?...
10x more just mining any new coin and change it on https://coinedup.com or https://coinex.pw/

..... Literally the post before yours....

For people concerned about payouts, there's something important to remember. Even before the hack, mining on a multipool has delayed gratification compared to mining directly.

Your shares don't count until the round ends
After the round ends some coins take time to mature so they can be used for trading
After all coins are mature they may take a day or two to fully trade with the automated system (Or longer if there's an exchange or automation problem!)

While the Hashcows crew has been exceptional about trying to provide transparency, it's a complicated process. Even before the hack this process wasn't fully transparent.

I'm not saying there isn't a problem, and I'm not saying the lack of a ledger isn't frustrating (It is!), but posts of "I mined for one day and got shit pay-out" aren't very helpful or informative. As has been stated in previous posts, the pool has been severely damaged by this hack, and the admins are still doing damage control and trying to get the ship righted.

This is a pool for the lazy. I'm too lazy(and paranoid) to run wallets for all these altcoins. I'm too lazy to follow the markets closely and chose the most profitable coin. If your need for clear (documented) profit outstrips your laziness than this isn't the pool for you to be mining on right now. Nobody will think less of you if you go mine somewhere else for a week or two while Hashcows gets fixed.

I don't quite understand what the "Profitability: 31.161" stat means and my search has failed. can somone explain please or link to explanation?

That means that is it 31.161 times as profitable as mining straight bitcoin. It is not a terribly useful number in and of itself but you can gauge the profitability of the pool over a few days by watching the number (eg. #'s in the 40's or 50's and alt coins are up and the pool should make a nice profit that day, or #'s in the 20's alt coins are down and the payout for that day will probably be low, #'s in the 30's or high 20's are about average from my experience.)
