1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Stolen coins / Crypto insurance? on: February 23, 2018, 08:57:54 PM
I feel bad for my friend but I'm sure he's feeling worse.

Friend's QSP and Walton were transferred out of his MEW account without his permission.
The QSP landed on Binance. Walton is somewhere else.

Not scammed but believe it was a phishing.

This is his public key: 0xC835cd6A77A0738f640505555bBC2b6C64902475

He's not rich.. blahh blahh.. its a significant amount blahh blahh..

I think there is a huge market for crypto insurance. If there is something out there I haven't heard about it yet.

I'd imagine it would work by ppl verifying themselves and their wallets. (which people wont do) Or just their wallet addresses. Then you pay a small monthly fee based on your level of risk. Any confirmed scam/phish/hack etc is dealt with appropriately. Perhaps in the future these tainted coins will be identifiable or marked in someway.

Any ideas?

Thanks for that link. I thought it should be okay with 21000 Gas limit; 20 Gwei. I'll check it out.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Nonce noob on: February 08, 2018, 09:10:26 AM
Tried to send a transactions today but it failed to send. I put it down to an issue with Ledger's Ethereum nodes. Decided to finally look into it and managed to get it resolved through MEW.

The short story. I thought the previous attempts were cancelled as they didn't go through but they must have still been waiting for confirmation or something. Sent double the amount I needed to. No big issue but now i know about nonce and why you cant double spend.

May be a bit confusing as the countdown clock reads 00hrs but if you click the link to the webinar the next page shows the time of the next session: Sunday, 11 February 2018, at 4:00 PM.  25 ConnectX coins if you attend.

Disclaimer: I haven't invested in ICO..yet.

Suberg stated there will be a push for an 'international regulatory effort on crypto', to try and crack down on fraud. This topic will likely continue in the March G20 summit. Crypto is the future.

I'm hearing a lot about how mining is fast becoming unsustainable. This problem may be solved by the evolution of data storage through the use of satellite technology. Cloud storage as explained in their Whitepaper is outdated. 2018 and beyond will see many more companies storing data in space. What will the space ecosystem look like in the next decade? I don't know but I want to keep hearing about people who are curious enough to give it a go.

I watched a ConnectX webinar today. Hadn't heard anything about it so it was refreshing to hear about an original concept. The ConnectX private satellite network eliminates the use of the internet and seeks to solve other crypto related security issues. CEO Lance Parker is worth listening to if you get a chance when he does another Webinar.
I recommend looking into it, if not for the airdrop or ICO then purely to be aware of where altcoins are headed in the future.
8  Other / Politics & Society / Future of Blockchain technology on: February 05, 2018, 11:05:49 AM
In the future altcoins will be the standard not fiat.
What does that look like?

Each country would have their own take on China's social credit idea.

I see this as only the beginning.

Every person would have a transparent rating token attributed to their name. The Government, Companies, Businesses, and even your family will know if you have a good rating score and are a good citizen.

Everyone will know if you:

- Repay your debts on time,
- Fitness device connected to a blockchain can show when and how long you excercise (good candidate for life insurance, employment etc)
- Eat 'healthy' food
- Are a reputable person to do business with.

Positive actions increase your token value and visa versa.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [poll] How long until recovery? on: February 05, 2018, 10:17:52 AM
Approx 2-3 months duration. By mid March prices would have recovered. Its a wave; ride it out.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PAYNEXT COIN CONCERN??? ANY IDEA???? on: February 05, 2018, 04:07:23 AM
They have a whitepaper but no mention of the team or who is behind it. It's not difficult to formulate a solid whitepaper, generate interest through social media, have a transparent team and an original idea. This looks very risky unless more information is provided.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Panic Sell ? / Chance on: February 04, 2018, 09:49:58 AM
I sell only if I have a good reason to invest in something else or buy back at a cheaper price. Must have a plan.
