Payments happen monthly.  There is a spreadsheet that is updated with farmer addresses and payout amounts posted on Rocket Chat community.storj.io

Can I get a link to that spreadsheet? I don't see it.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Api's for altcoin on: November 13, 2016, 10:51:39 PM
Hi guys just want to ask if there's an api for altcoin .. because i am planning to start a gambling site for altcoins..
I tried to talk some developer they giving me a link https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/API_reference_(JSON-RPC)
and i found some command there and try to type this command from their wallet or vault but result is error..
Im just looking for an api each altcoin to start a gambling..
Can you help me guys.Huh

For handling altcoins? Not unless the coin dev implemented one. You will have to install the altcoin core / wallet on a server and write code that interfaces with it. It can be pretty tricky tbh.

Most altcoins have the same commands as Bitcoin. Start with the help or getinfo command, get that to work first manually.
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Original_Bitcoin_client/API_calls_list

If you are totally lost google how to install bitcoin on a server, then learn how to use a "bitcoind command". Then write code that does those commands securely.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Any altcoins with explorer functionality built in? on: November 13, 2016, 06:53:23 PM
Hey all,

I'm wording if it's possible for an altcoin client to accurately display the top balances within the client without using an external service.

Are there any coins that do this?

Also, are there any coins that reward individual addresses in addition to / instead of block breakers?

Thanks for any intel.  Cool

Hi,

Im from Kingwood Texas and I'm looking start a new coin that is going to be worth LOTS of money!

Anyone want to get in on this great opportunity?

john

Nope. I do not.

Noob account with 0 details saying he's going to make a new coin when he says in another thread that he's already "made millions in ICOs".

So which coins did you make millions off of?

Nothing but BS without thick details.

I've made millions in ICOs

I did not leave..

You keep saying it like its true.
You made one post back in August after being MIA for a whole month, declaring you were not going to be part of the development of this coin any more.
Not a single post since then, for three more months... until now. Dance around it all you like.

1+1=2=fake pump

You may very well be legitimate in your passing interest, but spare a thought for all of those that sold based on your previous statements. You coming back now talking of the coins great worth is simply rubbing their nose in it.

If indeed you are behind this fake pump, it's not like what you are doing is anything new in crypto. It happens all the time. But if it is the case I do hope you are left with a massive fail bag that nobody gets suckered into buying off you, why? see point 1: Its a shitty move.

Honestly not a bad maneuver.. kinda wish it WAS me like HiggsBosunBlues seems so sure of. Dudes portfolio is sitting at a minimum of 42 BTC currently.
Minimum 42 BTC? You really think theres that many idiots buying at the top of a fake pumped coin with no development? Maybe you are just an awful trader if you think this is the case.
You sure seem to be trying really hard to pump up the value of a coin you told everyone you were done with all of a sudden. But hey, im sure its just 'casual interest' and you have nothing to gain by supporting such a pump.
Post all you like btw, but tell everyone youre done with Swing, then come back after 3 months during a fake pump and youre going to get called on it.
I do like how you're calling yourself the dev again now too. How convenient.

I did not leave, and I did develop this coin.

Also a portfolio is not representative of anything other than current value of holdings. It does not mean exit trades will be executed for that value.. which is why it's fun to watch imho.
The top wallet balance on Bittrex is 496,922.
The last trade was executed at 8000 satoshis
That portfolio is valued at 47.75376 BTC without factoring in any other holdings.. even though it's not been sold yet.

Unfortunately, that's not my bag  Angry

fake pump  Grin

I mean.. sure it was done largely by one trader.. but he DID move the floor from 600 satoshis up to, let's see, currently 5800 has about 4 BTC. Current trades are in the 7k range.. and sell volume is looking super weak.

Honestly not a bad maneuver.. kinda wish it WAS me like HiggsBosunBlues seems so sure of. Dudes portfolio is sitting at a minimum of 42 BTC currently.

Let's just see what happens next. I find this super entertaining regardless of the outcome. Smiley

Probably the most fake market I've ever seen.

Dev announces he is leaving and the price magically skyrockets for no reason, market is full of one person buying and selling to himself. Gee, I wonder who it could be?

Get all the holders to sell cheap and then fake pump away so you can dump at a high price. Shitty move.

Magically, the dev reappears and looks interested again.

It's legitimately not me lol. Is it odd to think that I check into my own coin from time to time? I never abandoned Swing I just said I can't promise major improvements from me. I made a point to say I'm around and happy to assist others though. I never disappeared, and there's nothing magical about me posting when i notice the market movement. I even made a point to show the almost comical distribution on Bittrex.

You're not wrong about one thing though.. it's blatantly one holder making waves, and they aren't trying to hide it either.

As for it being a shitty move.. something tells me the guy holding ~600,000 swing that quintupled the price disagrees...

Oh and since I know you wont believe me here's my most recent transactions on bittrex Smiley

(Sorry, no conspiracy here.. just actual traders doing trader things..)

P.S. Whoever our big investor is, you should definitely send me a private message. Wink

Nice price and moving up.. To he MOON Tongue
why is it rising?

Because great bottom form at the end of October. And the structure of the graph indicate of a bull market.
Any other news maybe?

Not unless it's coming from a community member / holder. I'm here to assist as dev but cannot promise new code currently. Happy to see the activity though.  Smiley

Some tasks holders might consider:
New website (TrySwing.com)
New ANN
Marketing
Simple ideas

Also my thanks to those of you that keep re-upping the blockchain explorer Smiley

Hi guys,

First off I want to say sorry about the silence. I did not mean to go so long without posting. Time tends to slip by.

With this update I've decided to be blunt with things.

I'm afraid I need to officially request a developer takeover.

After working on this project for over a year I simply do not have enough time and focus to give this project the love it needs anymore, and pretending I do would unfair to you guys. Should I proceed with the fork myself I would also be expected to update all marketing materials including the thread and website, promote the coin, find a way to increase value, get every exchange and service to update, and find ways to improve from there. Given my long delays between updates I think it's starting to become clear even to me that having me head off all of that solo just wont work in the long run. I have repeatedly over the past year made calls for more developers and help with everything else without finding anyone to jump in and support. I've done my best to keep this project alive for the past year, while being as transparent as possible the entire time. This update is no exception, and I think it's the right thing to do over going dark and completely abandoning the project like we see over and over in altcoins. I genuinely believe swings only option to thrive is to find a new, motivated team to drive it forward.

I can provide the new rewards code and guide a dev on how to proceed with forking it, but I do not think heading off all the responsibilities that come with a major fork by myself is a good choice. I'm afraid I would only fall short.

If you think you might be the type of person capable of a takeover, you should already know how to fork an altcoin and you should be the type of person that keeps everything project related transparent with the holders.

We have had a very good run and the community we have built around this project has surprised me the entire time. The positivity is something that just isn't see in many other altcoins. I have high hopes that we will find a new team to step in, and am excited to see where Swing heads in the future.

Another month of CryptoID explorer paid.  Smiley

Thanks Man!!!

Fantastic! I greatly appreciate contributions to the network from the community like this. I'm sure everyone else does too.

zpool is no longer working correctly. Withdrawls not coming into wallet.

And hashgoal is down

altmining.com as well is down

Does anyone have a working mining pool for swing?

Altmining was the only standard pool I had listed as actively mining Swing. I'm not sure if there are any pools still online hosting us. If you find any let us know!
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ♘♕♔SWING♚ ♛♞ ▬▬▬▬●Programmatically Fluctuating Miners Cost!●▬▬▬▬ Now On Bittrex! on: July 12, 2016, 12:39:52 AM
This post has been marked as important! (Try not to skip over it  Wink)

Ok I'm locking the poll.

The vote ended 6:3. Swing will do a pure upgrade, and will not swap / re-brand into a new currency.

I will need a bit of help with this. Since we are going to do a hard fork, we will need some stakers and miners to help launch the update when the exchanges update. What we need is for users to begin staking and mining as soon as possible after the update gets launched and goes live on exchanges. (I may have the exchanges pause trading for a few hours after updating, giving the network and services time to sync up to the new fork).

If you would like to be one of the first stakers / miners on the new fork please let me know! I will try to reach out to people on this list with ETA's and upgraded wallets as best I can. (I will of course keep the thread up to date with this information as well.)

If the new fork goes too long without breaking blocks (over an hour), it could cause issues.

If you think we should do a soft fork instead of a hard fork, now is the time to speak up.

Users currently on the launch list:
Miners: 0
Stakers: 0

How the update will look from the user perspective:
  • Users will be alerted in the thread that a mandatory update is about to launch. I will start giving out ETA's once I've finalized and discussed the patch with exchange operators. I will try to give at least 24 hours notice.
  • Users will be given links to wallets / source code and asked to download the new wallet, and re-download the blockchain. (You will only need to re-download any post-update blocks. If you make a blockchain backup today you can save yourself some time.
  • Users that fail to update will slowly lose network connectivity. Any transactions made on the old version after the update has released will not be seen or accepted by users on the new versions.
  • Users on the new version will only connect to peers also on the new version. Transactions and blocks generated will only be seen / accepted by updated peers. Users on the old version will be ignored by the network.
  • Users on the new version will start breaking blocks with the new reward schema within a few blocks after launch (if not on the first block).

Still trying to get my head around the staking changes, its early here so I probably just need more coffee.
Either way, I will remain in Swing. Its such an underrated

Rewards will slowly increase or decrease over every 10,000 block cycle. POS rewards will increase from 0.00 to 9.99, and Miner rewards will decrease from 9.99 to 0.00.

To figure out expected reward:
Example block: 123,456
Start with the last 4 numbers of the block count. (3456)
Remove the last digit. (345)
345 is your base reward number.
POS workers will receive base reward formatted. (3.45)
POW workers will receive 1000-base formatted. (1000-345=655 (6.55))
Blocks 123,450 - 123,459 will all generate the same reward, as the base reward digits have not changed.

Upgrading to rewards like this will help secure the network from forks caused by rounding disagreement. It will also give us simpler and longer reward cycles.

Just sayin,

I really like Swing the way it is. Its one of my favorite coins and has been for a long time.

I hope that its not changed too much but will support any decision made moving forward. Thanks to the dev for all of his work.

Thanks for the input Smiley

Here's the proposed changes btw. Happy to hear opinions.

To re-cap, in Swing we are currently working on a core upgrade to improve stability, along with implementing a new rewards schema.

We are turning this:

Into this:

These changes are expected to improve stability by reducing the chance of forking problems, but also changes rewards a bit.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ♘♕♔SWING♚ ♛♞ ▬▬▬▬●Programmatically Fluctuating Miners Cost!●▬▬▬▬ Now On Bittrex! on: July 08, 2016, 02:00:43 PM
Nice volume on Bittrex! 24hr is over 4 BTC.

It looks like the vote is currently leaning towards a clean update with no swap. I'll be pretty busy this weekend so I think we should close the vote on Monday.

I'm also going to start pulling together the update in case we do end up going with a swapless update.

Side node, I do like the ideas this is generating (coin locking etc..) and I'm happy to see swing holders creating accounts to voice themselves.

Keep in mind we can always continue to upgrade in the future. Even if we don't implement every idea in the coming patch, we might in the future. And if we get a good enough set of ideas that would work for a swap, we might re-consider doing so even if the vote lands on a swapless upgrade.

The vote could still easily flip to a coin-swap, so if you haven't voiced yourself yet be sure to vote.
(Even if your account is too new to vote, I'll take your vote into consideration manually via comments if you seem like a holder.)

Keep the opinions and ideas flowing! Smiley

It is strange that they decided to return under another name.
Although in past times, I personally without loss.

We haven't decided to do that. We've just been discussing the possibility of a re-brand.

Hey guys,

Hope you all had a good 4th.

Since I haven't gotten much feedback I've started a poll in regards to swapping.

Let me know how you think Swing should proceed!
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Should Swing Coin-Swap, Update, Or both? on: July 06, 2016, 06:57:13 PM
Hey guys,

I'm not getting much feedback in the Swing thread so I've started a poll.

As you know currently our rewards look like this:

And we have an update pretty much ready to go to change rewards to this:

This gives us the option to

A: Update the Swing rewards
B: Start a new coin with these rewards and swap Swing for the new coins.
C: Update the Swing rewards, the come up with something better to swap Swing into after the patch.

Thanks for voting!
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ♘♕♔SWING♚ ♛♞ ▬▬▬▬●Programmatically Fluctuating Miners Cost!●▬▬▬▬ Now On Bittrex! on: June 29, 2016, 07:54:22 PM

Anybody here with interesting reason why not to swap? Wink

Only reasons I can think of is mostly that we will have to get the new coin listed on an exchange again, also I told the Bittrex exchange operators we were planning on upgrading Swing, so they might get grumpy if we decide to go with a swap instead. Also it would take some time to build everything and prepare for the swap.

However, if we think a swap is the way to go I'm fine with that choice.

(I suppose we also have the option to upgrade Swing, and coin-swap to something new as well. Give holders the choice to stay or swap.)
