1  Economy / Economics / Re: When will the market turn and start growing again? on: March 29, 2018, 04:40:53 PM
When the market will turn and start to grow again no one knows because this is unpredictable but to take last year as a case study, the prices were much better towards the end of the year though one can make a conclusion with this scenario but one can just view it has a thesis for the question.
Yes no one knows actually when will be the market turns to green. Many had become hopeful always on the market to rise, but as usuall we cant tell. Maybe it take time this year since were already in downtrend for months now, so believing on the market can help us to remains in control.

Since market prices are essentially an aggregate of investor psychology, it will probably require a capitulation first. That means that enough people still hanging on "hoping that it'll turn around" finally give up and sell. Unfortunately, that means more downside first.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too late to get involved into Bitcoin? on: March 29, 2018, 03:01:44 AM
Of all times to buy BTC, now is actually one of the better moments.  The froth in the price has come out and it's much more reasonable. Noone knows if the price has finished it's decline. But there's no doubt this is a better time than just several months ago.
You know what you gotta do then don't you? Buy that DIIIP! If not, set on the sidelines idle and which the sharks get in at the best price. Not sure whether we are in a full bear market or just still the correction phase from December's bull run but I am excited to see what plays out next 6 months.

Yup, investing is all about buying when everyone else is starting to panic and sell.  You will probably never "paint the bottom", but that's not what matters. You have to be a contrarian to make money: when others are fearful, be bold.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 29, 2018, 02:50:25 AM
Not yet hit bottom. I think. Asia also never sets the trend. Only reinforces.

Unfortunately have to agree with you.  Just look at the majors (like ETH) which have already made lower lows.

5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 2018 the downfall of bitcoin? on: March 29, 2018, 12:05:08 AM
*Newbie Here!* Because of fluctuations in the value of bitcoin, is 2018 going to be the biggest downfall of bitcoin? What do you think?

Definitely on a nominal basis. But that isn't what matters. It's percentage basis that counts and 2018 will be nowhere close to the biggest drops we've seen.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I have 250 ETH, Hold or SELL? on: March 28, 2018, 09:14:29 PM
450 USD is definitly not bottom 0 is.If you think that price will go down just sell it and buy back at lower price (why anybody should hold something what is decreasing in price ??,well atleast in 2 last months),if you think it will go up hold it an buy more - simple.

It does indeed look like a lower-low, lower-high.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 27, 2018, 04:50:19 PM
Starting to see some green again in my portfolio...
I have much more green in my garden for sure.

Yeah, the only green in cryptos would be BTC shorts on Bitcoin Futures (e.g. Chicago Mercantile Exchange).
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 23, 2018, 10:04:22 PM

The correlation between financial markets and bitcoin has grown somewhat but it is still very weak.  Badger for the most part does its own thing.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/so-is-there-a-correlation-between-bitcoin-and-stock-market-yes-but-no

Doesn't look that way.  The SP500 is down 100 points in the last two days.  (That's massive, roughly equivalent to 1000 points on the Dow.)  BTC prices?  Almost no change, either up or down.

I wonder about this. IF the stock market tanks....won't folk have 'less' discretionary money to toss at BTC and cryptos? Would it not just be wash?

If BTC buyers are doing so with excess returns from the market, then you'd expect a decline in equity markets to also trigger a decline in BTC. But we are not seeing any evidence of that (yet).

In fact, the reverse is actually more of what you are seeing. The big decline in BTC from December last year to local bottom on Feb 6 preceded the decline in the SP500, not the other way around.
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 23, 2018, 09:21:48 PM
It’s definitely not over but the bounce off $8200 was unexpectedly strong.  I think that may have rocked some bears.

The optimism chart says we will break the downtrend in April.
And the financial downturn during the past two days will not affect this run up?

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH VS BTC which one will be worth to invest? on: March 23, 2018, 03:29:16 PM
I think BTC is worth more investment. Because it is the No. 1 coin in cryptop. Prices will vary a lot every day. A great opportunity for those who invest in it

Both of these assumptions are flawed:

(1) All that it means that a coin is #1 is that the market capitalization is the largest. That does not mean more opportunity for an individual investor. It may mean more liquidity than a much smaller coin, but since ETH is #2, it has plenty of liquidity too.

(2) Nominal prices may vary a lot, but again that does not mean more opportunity for an individual investor. That's because the variation in price in ETH is just as much on a percentage basis.
11  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: March 23, 2018, 02:58:41 PM
Many people have been comparing Bitcoin to digital Gold. But that is not the way they are trading, in terms of asset classes. When gold rises (like in recent months), Bitcoin sometimes moves with it and sometimes not.  In other words, the market participants are largely independent.

In that case, you can think of Bitcoin as actually a diversification from Gold. Splitting your money and buying both will reduce your overall volatility exposure.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on tv series on: March 22, 2018, 03:49:11 AM
Is it okay for you to get bitcoin in the TV series? because in recent times it has started to be mentioned a lot in television programs. sometimes they can make bad news. does this misrepresent bitcoin
it may be that many people are talking about bitcoin and other crypto currencies on television. but they do not know much about bitcoin so sometimes they misinterpret and negatively affect the bitcoin

They may have misinformation, but just the fact that TV exposure increases mindshare is probably good for Bitcoin.

Experts in branding and marketing will tell you it can take 5+ exposures to an idea before it becomes 'sticky'. If TV adds 2 or 3 additional exposures to that count, in the long run it will benefit cryptos.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I'm calling it crypto is dead in 2018...the crypto hype has died like disco did on: March 22, 2018, 02:55:01 AM
To many people lost money
To many regulations
To many new tax laws
Will take another 4 years for a "new" crowd to come in an invest
To many exchanges robbed people

Over all everyone is now turned off by crypto, maybe 2019 might be better but this year is all about 1080tis costing $1000+ and barely making $1, coins with 1-3 month life cycles

I came in at the beginning of the bubble watched it rise and now I seen it burst. Say it after me crypto is dead in 2018

Excellent. Glad to hear you think that. The more people that "give up" like you do, the more likely it is that crypto prices will form a durable bottom. That's the nature of markets.
14  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: March 22, 2018, 02:48:09 AM
Getting merit is the hardest thing for me and others to become a member. I hope i'll get some after 1 year later learning about Bitcoin and crypto market. Maybe in 2019
It is not too hard, and you can make it. I give you a link to iasenko, who has ranked up to Full Member today, as a case study for you. Learn from him, and rank up.

You should be contributive, helpful, eagerly to learn new knowledge to reach what you want. Don't fall to traps of cheating, spamming, begging for merits.

Appreciate the concrete example, nhathongkehoc. A lot of people just say "make quality posts", but its easier to understand what that means by actually seeing it.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 22, 2018, 02:31:09 AM
What has been going on in ETH land...are they ever going to get their shit together over there?

ETH has been over-performing BTC for a while now. The recent under-performance is just reverting that basis spread.

Sony has a TV show called StartUp that features cryptocurrencies pretty heavily (although they mis-represent it somewhat).

In a world where Jews are waging a genocidal war against whites, only the most genocidal of whites will survive.

Don't even engage that fucktard.  But at the very least, have some respect for the rest of us, and don't quote it   Wink

I don't give a shit if you are correct or not, but I do give a shit that you are making claims to know the future and that you believe that you are right about things... because perhaps you are smarter than everyone else?

I guess a sinking Bitcoin price brings out the best in us, huh?

It’s just the little people left now.

Really?  Seems like plenty of long timers still posting...
19  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Will people pay taxes for bitcoin ? on: March 05, 2018, 02:28:25 AM
I would be willing to pay a bitcoin tax, rather than bitcoin would be in danger in my country.
yes, I sincerely pay taxes, as long as my country's government will legalize the existence of bitcolin, and support it.

Exactly. Taxation is a form of implicit legitimization. So you want your country to tax and regulate it. That's what the South Koreans did. It's good for Bitcoin and crypto in general.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fees are killing/have killed Bitcoin.... it is sad but true. on: March 05, 2018, 01:46:05 AM
Now the sluggishness of bitcoin and the high cost of its transactions should be a thing of the past, since a new version of Bitcoin 0.16.0, which fully supports SegWit, has recently been released, and therefore it must quickly eliminate its shortcomings. If at least part of the lightning network is introduced into the bitcoin, it will soon be possible to buy a cup of coffee with bitcoin, and the cost of transactions will be almost zero.

Sure, that's the hope. In the meanwhile, transaction fees have at least come down to a more manageable $2 USD or so. Not low enough to enable "buying a cup of coffee", but certainly better than the $30 - $50 fees of a couple months ago.
