Whenever I start the wallet it freezes and I get not responding. I've restarted and re installed. Same problem. Was working fine yesterday.
I've noted since a few days ago that my wallet freezes constantly and uses more cpu than before... Unfortunately I can't even test the issue as I have no Windows. However, Bosian said that he did not note anything similar. Also, there is a post regarding freezes: I am having a lot of trouble running the 1.4 wallet with minting. I am running windows 7 and if I unlock it for minting it goes to non responsive.... Any ideas?
having same trouble, mostly when another running wallet grabs the focus. try: task manager>processes tab>sort by name, right click [grain]>set priority>DO NOT USE REALTIME  usually works for me, the realtime setting freezez my comp.  Changing priority does nothing. It's really strange because before the cpu load was high only when started and then was minimal while stayed open. Now it's constantly high and "not responding" most of the time... Had no problems with my wallet at any point. When I run the wallet it has some effect on gaming but once it has synced it runs smoothly. Using windows 8.1. I think I will try to make a FAQ that could be added to OP as the same problems keep popping up on every 2nd page.  |

Been mining a fwe days now on my laptop, but without much luck. Can anyone spot me some grain so that I can toy around with the Proof of Stake feature? Also, are there any clear numbers as far as what percentage of grain in generated from Proof of stake? Weekly, monthly, annualy, etc...? Sent you some grain. As it was my mistake it was my coins. Isn't that fair?
In a way they could be considered your coins as you did the mistake, but then again IMO you don't need to give away your own coins because of this. Even though you did a mistake you don't get anything from it if you return the amount you sent to yourself. Would be more fair to just ask it back like you did and well, if some never get's returned then that should be deducted from the pre-mine. Everyone does mistakes and as you are a part of the developer team I would consider this a small mistake and you probably learned your lesson from it. |

Dear miners.
Today I did a big mistake that lead me to sending out ~4.5mil gra to most of the addresses that mined blocks since 100000 through 130000. I am so frustrated that I will not process today the payments for blocks. I will do it anyway tomorrow or day after tomorrow according to the records on this thread what have not been paid yet.

i'm not mining grain at the moment?  ?? If you are mining, then you are mining. The PoS part is "extra" and you get it as long as you have enough coindays on the coins. They are generated (mined) by the wallet and won't interfere with your normal mining. |

Should CoinMarket.io add this coin?In other words, would you bring us a reasonable amount of volume? I think it would be nice to see Grain on coinmarket.io. Looks like a promising new exchange and I think Grain is a promising coin so it would really be fit to have it there. a. would be my choice. Number 1 |

A minor issue, but since the last time we updated, the startup grain logo has lost its transparency. I'm sure it was transparent before, but now it has a white background.
Never been transparent for me. Always white, no matter what what version I have used. |

I can't think of any other way a problem like this can be solved except a way to run 2 simultaneous blockchains somehow, 1 with pow only and 1 with pos only. Then again I'm not a programmer and pretty new to this crypto world.
No. there is no way of having two simultaneous block chains. The hybrid PoW+PoS is designed in a way that makes it more difficult to PoW mine when there is less PoS blocks than expected and vica versa. The current situation is caused by the very big gap in the PoS blocks due to the bug. The bug has been fixed, so the PoS mining restored and the algorithm adjusted the difficulties accordingly. Although there is a way to fix it by changing the parameters in the wallet it would require another hard fork,.i.e. the miners would be requested to update their wallets again as it was done in emerge way before the block 92000. As both things happened due to the human (developer's) mistake and to help all of us (including the developer himself) to recover from the situation by allowing the algorithm to work it out in its natural way it was decided to set up this temporary incentive for the PoW miners (see the discussion a few posts above). I have followed this thread since the beginning and been mining since the beginning. Just don't understand how this can work out like this. If a few weeks can clog up the pow generation this much, what would happen if there were 10000x more wallets open all generating pos constantly. Won't it jam it way more than this clog we had? And it would be a constant clog. |

Doubt there is that much mining power atm. Probably something else. But I might be wrong though. |

I picked up half a million grain coins for 2 ltc last night  Get em while they're cheap! They're available on coinedup.com in both BTC and LTC markets now. Yea, gonna buy about 300k GRA once my btc gets there. 1 of 6 confirmations. damn it's slow. |

Yea, only had 0.3 LTC and don't feel like changing my BTC to LTC so I could buy GRA.. Want to get a GRA/BTC option so I can buy grain with my BTC. |

What kind of returns compared to electricity used are you getting? I am a mining noob, but I heard the electricity bill eats a lot of the mining profits
Current returns are bad, but it's less than 24h since it hit an exchange, and I think it will go up in value. But then again noone knows, so it's a gamble. |

Yea it's low but would assume it will go up with time and when hashrate goes up. |
