all the above are paid. If you are not qualified, please read OP to see what to do to qualify the giveaway.    Wink

Does it take a while to pay out ? I don't seem to see any coins. The Wallet should start with "L" right ? It's the Lottocoin-QT receive address I was supposed to post ?

My co-workers buddy who holds what used to be tens of millions of dollars worth of bitcoins believes it will drop to around the $200 range. This guy is normally the golden boy of investing and making money. He was a millionaire before bitcoin also. I am taking a wait and see approach and will buy in if it even drops to $300.

10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What does it mean for an altcoin when there is a large [volume] sale? on: December 18, 2013, 05:21:48 AM
Could mean someone mined a lot of it early and sees the trend moving downward. Was at an all time high recently at .0009 and maybe half of that was the magic number to dump. I don't know too many people who believe in the alt coins surviving long term save for a few niche ones.

12  Other / Beginners & Help / Does anyone have stories of people they know who got rich off BTC ? on: December 18, 2013, 03:40:26 AM
I have a co-worker who has a buddy with bitcoins worth tens of millions since he was a millionaire before he even started with bitcoins and has held on since the beginning. No one knows for sure how many he holds though.

Then there's another co-worker of mine who told me his buddy lost his job and got a $9000 severance package at HP which he invested a portion in mining hardware and ended up with 2500 bitcoins when they were near $1000. He paid off a house and put $400K in a long term savings and still retains 700 BTC.  Shocked  The kicker is that my co-worker even asked what all the computers were for when he went to his friends house and he said he was building gaming rigs....

Does anyone else have stories ?

I think there is a huge rise and demand in dogecoins right now, if you mine them you may profit a huge amount given a few weeks.

I'm not that green... it is no better or worse than most other alt currencies IMO. Telling someone to mine any specific alt is a complete guess at best. I currently hold SXC, CSC, UNI, GLD, SBC, and WDC. I won't be buying into the Dogecoin hype. Just a personal choice. I think it's the fact that I hate that DOGE meme thing. Very annoying. I plan to ride the alt wave until BTC changes itself and adopts all the characteristics that make other alts seem viable. Hopefully I can see that coming and dump everything I mined into LTC and BTC. Thanks for the suggestion though.
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to direct buy LTC on: December 18, 2013, 02:26:14 AM
I asked someone else how he does it and he says he created an account on CAVIRTEX since we are Canadian and he just added that exchange as a bill payment in his bank and bought BTC with that by "paying the bill". Does that sound somewhat safe ?

Yes I just signed up on btc-e and noticed it has to be done by international wire transfer or through an e-wallet.

I am looking to build a milk crate rig with 4 x Radeon 7950's if I can find them. Is it worth it to still go after alt coins to play the market and convert to LTC/BTC or am I wasting time/money ?

I am getting about 330kh/s with my 7870 but finding that I am such a small fish in every mining pool that I just don't get enough shares. I am also willing to buy 2BTC outright if the price goes anywhere below $600. My plan is to convert .75 BTC back to LTC and then back to a whole bunch of different alt coins and watch the markets. I will hold steady on the other 1.25 BTC and hopefully build it back to 2BTC with mining.

My guess is about $1500 to $2000 for the rig and maybe $1300 for 2 BTC if the market gets there by chance. $3000 to $3500 won't destroy me if everything goes belly up but I missed the last ride because I knew about bitcoin at $30 and did nothing about it. I'm willing to take a bit of a risk here to not be left in the cold again.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / How to direct buy LTC on: December 18, 2013, 01:54:34 AM
I was approached by a co-worker today who asked me how he would go about purchasing LTC directly anywhere using a credit card. How does one do this ?
