1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin failed as a currency on: June 14, 2018, 12:55:12 PM
Bitcoin long term will become digital gold, other coins such as ripple will become currency coins etc. We have a long way to until we see bitcoins full potential.
2  Economy / Economics / Re: What are the challenges for investment with Small capital? on: May 16, 2018, 09:25:48 AM
Small capital in my experience usually means the investor makes bigger risks because they don’t have much to loose but a lot to gain.

4  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin & College students . on: May 09, 2018, 08:08:33 AM
I think that everyone should first of all recognize cryptocurrency as a means of reliable payment, and then there will be opportunities to use tokens everywhere. already opened a special store for any goods that can be purchased for cryptocurrency. for example, FlogMall.

This is a chicken and egg dilemma I think. Can it ever be a good means of payment with volatility? And can the volatility subside unless price discovery is reached? Im beginning to think its important not too rush the process. I think there will come a day that its the best means of payment out there but im not sure rushing to it is the correct approach

6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the birth of bitcoin will cause google to die? on: May 08, 2018, 08:37:54 AM
bitcoin currency and block technology was invented , if block technology universal in the world , we need a based on block search engine it ? google web-based search technology will be out of date it?

Nebulas, Substratum are just a couple of projects trying to tackle this issue and especially given the levels of internet censorship we are beginning to see rolled out a decentralised web browser is inevitable. I was listening to a talk given by Olaf Carlson Lee describing Web 3.0 and how it will change the world in ways we are still to early to conceive.

He thinks the following protocols are most likely to power these apps:

Ethereum – a more knowing decentralized protocol that can enable innovation to be built on it, that can attract developers, and that can enable all sorts of applications from digital IDs, file storage, messaging, wallets, supply-chain finance etc.

IPFS ecosystem

Tezos

Rchain

PolkaDot

Difinity

Cosmos

(I would say there are a few more you could add to that list potentially..EOS, ADA)
7  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think of North Korea? on: May 07, 2018, 12:08:52 PM
North Korea just launched its Ballistic Missile. Should the world be alarmed?

I in no way condone the way the NK establishment has apparently treat their citizens but what I would say is that the paranoia is probably justified given the USA carpet bombed their whole country and wiped out 30% of their total population. Only stopping the attack because there was nothing left of substance left to bomb...
8  Economy / Economics / Re: let us promote BITCOIN on: May 07, 2018, 12:06:45 PM
hi peepz, we all know the declining price of bitcoin today since the start of this year, so i have made this thread for you to post ONLY positive things about bitcoin on how it affects your daily lives, please do sights some of your personal encounter using bitcoin in buying online or on a physical store if there's one. you can also post how you earn bitcoin using this forum.

if you are to post negative things about bitcoin, i believe you should not be here in this thread, there are other threads that tackles the disadvantages of bitcoin so please spare this one.

i believe that this should be helpful for people who have no idea about bitcoin. including newbies in this forum. who knows, maybe some smerit giver will read your post if it deserves to be merited depending on how helpful and informative your post is. so good luck to us all guys.

EDITED: please do not post statements that you agree on why i created this thread, what we need is the practical use of bitcoin today, just to avoid spamming posts that are already posted above yours.

Why I love bitcoin.. I think its been apparent for a while that we are moving into a cashless society. Some countries are further down the line than others. Scandinavian countries are probably the furthest along this line. But in the next 50 years latest I think cash will be phased out. Im already seeing it within the UK which is where I live.

Once we do enter this new age of a cashless society I think we also enter a new age of total surveillance which is very reminiscent of George Orwell's dystopian outlook on how society will turn out.

Luckily due to the advent of Bitcoin and the fact its network effect managed to slip under the radar to the point where it has gotten to where it is today we have the opportunity to have a decentralised form of currency (although I do think this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to bitcoins use cases). In this future that I can see coming bitcoin has the chance to be the synonymous cash of the future. With the option of being totally anonymous if you are extra extra careful and take all the appropriate steps and I think this will one of the greatest gifts bitcoin will give to the world!
9  Economy / Economics / Re: SEC is preparing cryptocurrency fraud crackdown... on: May 02, 2018, 10:26:04 AM
I can see that eventually a crackdown will come but I just cant see how this will have any meaningful effect without a co-ordinated effort between a large amount of world governments. They are too busy positioning themselves to go to war at the moment. We would need the USA, Russia, China and a whole host of other world powers to work in coordination and I just cant see that happening...yet
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The wave of cutting tax for Bitcoin & Cryptocurrency in Europe on: May 02, 2018, 10:21:56 AM
I can see the United Kingdom attempting to become a big part in cryptocurrency. This is mainly due to Brexit and the fear of a waining influence in the world. The UK will always be where the money is, simple and I have no doubt the money will eventually be in crypto.

The UK already has a self regulated crypto group called CryptoUK containing Etoro, CEX.io, BlockEx, Coinbase, Coinshares, Commerce Block and Crypto compare and they are already taking a proactive approach in staying in contact with the government.

On top of that the biggest regulatory body in the UK the MIFID (markets in financial instruments directive) have already made it clear they have no intention to regulate.

To some the UK would be a surprise given the links to the banking industry but the banking industry is on a downward trend and the UK will always, always be where the money is
11  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can facebook change the way you vote ?. on: April 28, 2018, 09:37:28 PM
Channel 4 news saying facebook is a danger to democracy ..Is it?

I believe our normal TV media stations are more of a danger to democracy than facebook..
They spread PROPAGANDA    tv stations ..

My vote goes by the way my area is acting ..Acting all nice like no shootings then good leaders
Loads of shootings and poverty then not even facebook or the media will change my mind..

I think the biggest danger with facebook is the confirmation bias the algorithms will inevitably develop. They show you what you want to see which can just lead you down a spiral on one sided viewpoints giving users the false perception that the world is full of people with your own opinion
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your basis of finding a good project/Ico? on: April 28, 2018, 09:33:48 PM
the team
the problem they are trying to solve
the token distribution model
does it need to be decentralised
how big is the current market their product aims to disrupt
tokeneconomics:
how many coins will be released during the ico
                        is that the final amount
how many coins will the team receive
will they receive then straight away or released in relation to goals being met
13  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think about stablecoins and price volatility? on: April 22, 2018, 07:02:34 PM
I also don't really love the thought of needing a stable coin just because of the way it reflects on the market as a whole. You would hope there would be a coin that was relatively stable but as of yet the market doesn't seem to be mature enough to have a coin that is relatively volatility averse. That being said, in order for this industry to grow we need an avenue for investors to not get decimated by price volatility and this is where stable coins come in. I think they are a necessary evil that will not be going anywhere until the market reaches maturity. I think we all have our suspicions regarding tether. We do have some great stable coin projects in the pipeline and I think 2018 will see an influx of some really good alternatives
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / So when will we actually scale!? on: April 20, 2018, 02:36:44 PM
https://www.coindesk.com/ethereums-newest-scaling-tech-calls-on-slavic-gods-for-security/

Above is a news extract talking about yet another scaling solution for ethereum on top of sharding, raiden and plasma. This is a twist on the plasma protocol basically giving users the option to upload states if and when they choose providing users with an extra layer of security.

Now this is all well and good but when will all of these protocols actually get implemented? Coinbase took nearly two years just to incorporate segwit into their system so what does this mean for any other scaling solutions. It seems to me that with these solutions will be a few years away yet.
Is there a danger that they may take too long or are we confident there will still be a buzz a few years from now?
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Barclays considering Bitcoin trading desk. on: April 20, 2018, 02:27:24 PM
So last week this come out

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/04/10/like-flu-season-the-infectious-spread-of-bitcoin-could-be-over-barclays-says.html

This is Barclays coming out claiming bitcoin is like a infection, in a bad way. And now they are considering opening a trading desk. What is that about? These institutions flip flop more than politicians!
16  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your rules for profit taking on: April 20, 2018, 02:23:50 PM
I personally like to take out my initial investment once it has doubled and then I leave the rest in. Once that doubles take out another half and so on. Im not really into day trading tough to be honest. I think with day trading the margins you will be working on will be allot smaller. Allot of experienced day traders work on 5/7 very low percentage trades. They even go into the satoshi levels. Something I would recommend even if you don't day trade. There can be a very sizeable difference between 1cent and 2cents when thinking in terms of satoshi's
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Halal or Haram: A Shariah Analysis on: April 20, 2018, 02:13:45 PM
This whole debate around crypto being halal is very skewed I think. People think that 1.8billion muslims around the world have been waiting for the blessing of a cleric to get involved. This is preposterous, first of all not all muslims are the same, and they don't all follow the same clerics. On top of that just based on where I live and the conferences I attend and there a loads of muslims in attendance!
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I late to the party? on: April 20, 2018, 12:25:07 PM
Its never too late in my opinion. Even now today. Is it too late to start forex trading? or stock market trading? People are still making money, albeit with high frequency trading algorithms but still.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stock market principles needed in crypto world: SEC official on: April 20, 2018, 12:23:12 PM
At the moment nothing in terms of frameworks or best practices exist. Its still being formulated or I hope it is. This is what will help the next wave of retail investors to enter the market! That and a real new use case being developed, instead of pure speculation
20  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Question out of curiosity? on: April 19, 2018, 12:47:49 PM
It depends what social system you find yourself in. In prison 'respect' could be bottling someone over the head, that does not make it the right thing to do though does it. I think there are cases of people dong the right thing that might make people respect them less. Respect is sort of an ego thing, or something others project onto you at least
