1  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [6000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+Orphan+NMC, Stratum, Private Servers on: March 20, 2014, 11:06:17 PM
How come we don't find blocks for hours and then boom boom, two in a row, and then wait again? Just curious how or why it happens.... seen it with other pools too.

It's completely random and based on the pools hashrate.  Right now I think BTCGuild has about 16-18% of the total hashrate. That means every block we have a 16-18% change to get. If we don't get the current block then the next block starts and we have a 16-18% chance to get that one.  That being said, we could go on a run of 4-5 blocks in a row if we were really lucky (akin to flipping a bunch of heads in a row since we should only be getting one of those blocks).  Or we could go 20-30 blocks without getting one if we were really unlucky.  In the long run in all averages out.
2  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer support and OverClocking thread on: March 15, 2014, 09:56:19 PM
What kind of 24 hour returns is everyone getting right now?  I just set up my S1, overclocked to a frequency of 393, holding steady at 200GH/s and error rate around 0.5%.  The past 24 hours I have mined about 0.01 bitcoin which is about half of what I would expect.  Could it be just a bad run in the pool? Currently at BTCGuild PPLNS.  Any thoughts?  Perhaps I should wait for a full week and see what I get!

through slush's pool I am seeing about .0258 daily and my Average hashrate in last 10 rounds: 189133 Mhash/s

mine has been running for 4.5 day nows

I would say get out of that pool as quickly as possible

I set my payout at .1 and got my first payout in just about 4 days

I'm ordering another S1 on moonday

slush's pool : Pool luck (1 day, 7 days, 30 days):   120%, 120%, 107%

thats pretty good!  think it would be worth it to stay since pool should should normalize and BTC has been running low the past week or two so should get above 100% for a while?

24 horu retunrs just got  abit better at 0.018 BTC

All,

Is there a way to view only my spendable balance in the blockchain wallet app for android?  I have a bunch of my paper wallets loaded as watch only addresses, but I can't distinguish from the bitcoin that are associated with any of the blockchain addresses.  Is there an easy way without having to remember the total balance of my paper wallets and subtract that from the total?  Thanks!

lol...yeah
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The truth about Ethereum and Goldman Sachs on: February 01, 2014, 07:56:42 PM
50% pre-mining

relations with Goldman Sachs.

Fred Ersham works in on a third party service related to bitcoin. He wasn't part of a team that build btc protocol.

I am not talking about the premine.  I even said I am not so sure how I feel about it and the IPO in general.  There are no current relations with GS as far as anybody knows. An ethereum dev, previously worked for them. So what, that does not imply in any way that they are backed by or have relations with GS.  I bet GS has no clue what ethereum even is, let alone have relations with them LOL.  You guys are so far down the rabbit hole you can't even see objectively
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The truth about Ethereum and Goldman Sachs on: February 01, 2014, 07:35:01 PM
OP is on a puppet account, he is directly related to the ETH team

You guys are funny.  Like I said, I am in no way affiliated with Ethereum.  I only got into bitcoin last September, even.  I am not a programmer or have a career in computer science in any way.  I am simply pointing out facts.  You can believe in conspiracies or spread misinformation all you want, but it won't change the facts.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The truth about Ethereum and Goldman Sachs on: February 01, 2014, 03:10:27 PM
I has to write this because I keep seeing this pop up and people don't care to fact check and just keep spreading false information.

I have nothing to do with Ethereum. In fact I am still up in the air about whether I would invest given the current IPO scheme. I do however hate to see people spreading lies and misinformation.

Ethereum is not in any way 'backed' by Goldman Sachs.  They have some people on the team that PREVIOUSLY worked for them, but that's it. This is an asset in my mind, since sooner or later some of these big banks will be gunning for cryptocurrencies and it's a benefit to know how they operate internally.

Fred Ersham, the co-founder of Coinbase also previously worked for GS.  I don't hear anything about Coinbase, probably the most promising startup in the Bitcoin space, being backed by GS.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All in on Ethereum? on: February 01, 2014, 03:01:43 PM
"All in" doesn't like a wise investment decision. You should never invest more than you can afford to (easily) lose.

The 'This is a Goldman Sachs project' comments are, while very amusing, totally baseless. Anyone can hear Charles mention in the video that the team is very varied and that 'people who worked' for Goldman Sachs are on the team. - see http://ethereum.org/.

Goldman Sachs, the institution, has nothing to do with the project (duh). On the other hand, having people on board with deep financial expertise is great news, and means we can expect to see smart contracts templates that are immediately useful on decentralized exchanges.

Keep spreading your lies, they wont change anything.

You're the one spreading lies man.  GS is not 'backing' Ethereum.  Ethereum has some people that used to work for GS, but that's it.

Just like Coinbase co-founder Fred Ersham used to work for GS. Is Coinbase backed by GS as well? Get real dude.

Random user registers on this forum then announces site and project then takes money and lastly doesn't respond/refund.

People please use escrow if there are trust issues with new members.

You're right, it is pretty stupid.  It was my first transaction with bitcoin, that wasn't an obviously real company (I've bought stuff through legit companies before). I definitely wouldn't have done it without escrow if it was a large sum of money.  I can deal with losing $50, but it's just annoying getting ripped off by scumbag scammers.

Guess the guys name is Chris Sweeting?
14  Economy / Goods / Re: Stainless steel bitcoin cold storage wallets on: December 31, 2013, 06:06:10 PM
Interesting.  Well I guess we will see in 10 days?? Seems weird, why not just issue the refunds now.

Hopefully someone can come up with a product like this.  I've seen some wood etched ones, but not really any credit card sized aluminum or steel
15  Economy / Goods / Re: Stainless steel bitcoin cold storage wallets on: December 30, 2013, 06:53:00 PM
You're right, I feel like they could make a lot more money by having a real product.  It's a shame too if it turns out to be fake, since the product looks pretty cool and I was excited to get them and hand them out to people.  I guess time will tell... coming up on 2 weeks with no word.
16  Economy / Goods / Re: Stainless steel bitcoin cold storage wallets on: December 30, 2013, 04:47:28 PM
Not a good start. Maybe the laser blinded them?

Lol.

Day 12... still not a word
17  Economy / Goods / Re: Stainless steel bitcoin cold storage wallets on: December 28, 2013, 05:04:36 PM
They initially were selling them 10 for $100 but then changed to 5 for $50.  Seems like such a small amount for a scam but I guess if they had 100 orders you never know.  Also it is Christmas time, but why hasn't anyone received even a reply in over 10 days?

Hope they are just a bit behind. I was looking forward to giving these out as gifts to a couple friends who have shown interest in bitcoin
18  Economy / Goods / Re: Stainless steel bitcoin cold storage wallets on: December 27, 2013, 06:36:02 PM
Any update on this? I had put my order in back on the 17th.

I'm waiting to hear back as well.  Ordered on the 18th, sent support ticket on the 22/23rd.... nothing.
19  Economy / Goods / Re: Stainless steel bitcoin cold storage wallets on: December 25, 2013, 05:16:39 PM
Hello,

I ordered some wallets on the 18th and sent a support ticket 5 days ago with a question, but haven't heard back yet. I was just wondering how long until after the order that we should expect the cards to be created and delivered?
Thank you

Bitcoin get had some pretty good deals every once anda while I've noticed.  For example 300ubits for a 60 second so while the price was in the 200 dollar range.  Haven't looked in a while though.  Gotta be careful about having to many small transactions as well.  It will really increase the mines fees when spending. I just create a wallet just for faucets whenever I'm bored and visiting any.
