2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PRE-ICO]HoweyCoins: the only BitcoinTalk-endorsed ICO - GUARANTEED PROFIT on: May 22, 2018, 06:12:08 AM
Ok. Just a few minutes of research later, I, too, could clearly see that this is a scam/fake ICO. It was set up by the SEC in the U.S. I just couldn't post right away, cuz I'm still new to posting (I was a lurker for a long time before recently finally creating an account) so I had to wait 6 minutes.......
Amusing, I suppose, but also crazy. It is pretty nuts to see some of the comments on here-- did you guys who are speaking positively of the "project" go to the website before promoting the "bounty?"  Or, are you just trollin'/having a laugh?

For anyone who has not gone to the website:    If you try to click on "Buy Coins Now" buttons, it takes you here: https : // www. investor. gov / howeycoins
......
Kind of does highlight just how easy it can be sometimes to scam ...  Undecided Cry Undecided

That actually looks more legit than some of the "real" Icos out there.
Lol, indeed. I agree with you-- Overall, the language on the site was not any worse than what you see with the "real" projects out there. Just makes me wonder at how many people were posting things like "great project" and more positive crud, who obviously hadn't even thoroughly checked the website out......  or, maybe they DID, and were trolling to see how many people they could egg on and fool? Who knows.

On a related note.... the proofreading perfectionist in me cringes when I see such mistake-ridden, confusing English in white papers and on websites for some of these projects, especially when they otherwise look promising. I can't help it. Sigh...

  Shocked Shocked Grin Cheesy BWAHAHAHA.
Thanks. I needed that.
Not sure why it is so amusing to me, but that made my day.
Whatever the Howiecoin project is, whether it be legit or fake....  at least we can take comfort in knowing that John is all in.... or something......
John is all over this one.  Better get some while you can!

But why is Bitcointalk Officially endorsing this coin/token though?
Any reason why this in particular?

The "Check out these messages by our celebrity promoters" are actually images from the web and not actually real pictures of any promoters?

I am also curious about this. Will investigate....
6  Economy / Marketplace / Re: HTC is planning to build a blockchain-powered smartphone on: May 22, 2018, 04:27:55 AM
I like this concept. Only downside I see is a potential for wallet, personal and financial data being collected through wireless transmissions. There was a story in the news in 2017 about 400 million android phones being vulnerable to a backdoor installed by chinese vendors. All of which could be filed under "normal concerns" for any type of hardware/software where money is involved. Its been documented many routers and modems have backdoors installed via default as well so it is possible laptops and desktops are currently as vulnerable as smartphones.

It is a good concept. Many carry their phones. Having all the information and functionality required "at your fingertips" is something Bill Gates could only aspire to in decades past. Its been said wallet and crypto support could be installed via default with this latest roll out of their "blockchain powered" smartphone. Hopefully people will experiment with it and learn about crypto on their own, without being misled or influenced too much by the media which tends to portray a negative view of crypto and bitcoin in general.

I like the concept, too......  but I am also, like others here have expressed, skeptical. Not sure I would want to be trusting and using a bitcoin wallet that came pre-installed on my phone.  Undecided I think I will wait this out and see what happens with it. It is interesting to me, but I am not into being the guinea pig for a device like this.

This is awesome. I'm gonna wear the $h!t outta that. And some people will get it when they see it... most in my area probably will not...  it will be amusing Grin Grin I am going to pledge as soon as I have a little extra to spare, even if that means I miss out on the early bird...

It is indeed a nice shade of blue. Cool

I don't disagree with you, I think you are basically spot on. I have been watching and following the space off and on for years, and though I am new to actually posting here, I have enjoyed being a lurker for a long time and have learned a lot. But, I am wondering, what could an exchange do to prevent manipulation? Trying to manage that could get pretty complicated. And that is just one question. It almost feels hopeless. I am just trying to maintain hope that the kinks and issues will work themselves out over time and that all us little people will prevail over the whales.

Thanks for posting the rant and ideas. I will be interested in seeing what others have to say.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to get Cryptocurrency Job?? on: May 21, 2018, 11:10:16 PM
Cryptocurrency jobs doesnt have to bethe complecated  programming of coding jobs, there are simpler jobs such as bounties programms, you could join such and get paid in cyptos
Agreed! I just posted some similar thoughts. I wanted to reply to you as well. I recently discovered that if you simply Google "cryptocurrency jobs" or "blockchain jobs" there are actually a few sites popping up who are working to get word out about other jobs out there in the space besides coding and more technical work. I am seeing a lot of demand for writers and editors, for instance.

There was a news about getting job in cryptocurrency . If you can not make enough money in different cryptocurrency and you think it can not fit your daily income.
Maybe you end up getting an actual job especially for those who have a family that depends on them.
I read about this news about Cryptoconomy offers a job opportunities with no qualifications necessary.
Try to look at this news  Smiley if you want.

https://news.bitcoin.com/how-to-get-a-cryptocurrency-job/?utm_source=Bitcoin.com+Subscribers&utm_campaign=7e9d8e50e8-Daily+Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_ea978414cb-7e9d8e50e8-216294061&goal=0_ea978414cb-7e9d8e50e8-216294061&mc_cid=7e9d8e50e8&mc_eid=96ac46ed19

But there is a question in my mind. What if you dont have enough skills and knowledge about cryptocurrency. And i am one of them..

Actually there so many cryptocurrency job,and its up to you to choose of which most suitable into your taste, only you can do is become more knowleadgeable  about the digital currency system, otherwise cryptocurrency job is  risk and need more lesson to learn about cryptocurrency in order that you prepared there is a failure into your choosing investment.

Agreed. I have been searching for a "job" related to this space. There are tons of opportunities out there, most of them may be dev or coding related but there are others - someone in an earlier post mentioned customer service for example. There are also opportunities for a lot of news sites looking for content, i.e. they need content creators, editors and and writers to write about ICO's, reviews of projects, etc. I will find something...  I am determined. I've been doing a lot of participating in airdrops as well. As others have said, bounties and airdrops are not a job and don't exactly make a ton of money, but I am in it for learning about new projects and keeping informed on what is out there first and foremost. So, earning those few free coins here and there is a nice bonus.  Cheesy
