can anyone help with this error.

running ubuntu 18.04, cuda 10.1, drivers 430.26, 5x1080's

machine was running without fault for a good 9 months. then yesterday the miner started playing up(i believe the error is cuda upgraded from 10 to 10.1). Bminer and Gminer bother wont start

i am differently running 430.26 ubuntu linux drivers

did you try 410-415-418 drivers ?

Prior to posting i had purged the NVIDIA drivers and cuda. and installed earlier versions.

It turned out, when i tried to run NVIDIA-smi, reported back it couldn't run due to insufficient voltage. i removed  all video card and rebooted till i found the GPU causing the dramas.

In the end, the issue was noting to do with drivers or cuda, just a GPU had partial failed(currently in a different machine, flashed the bios and the GPU has been up for 6 hours). i have previously had issues with the fan failing on this card Galax/KFA2 GTX 1080.

Hi.

I can't run the miner.
My rig is 8 GPU p106-100 6gb
OS ubuntu 16.04.2
GPU Driver 410
Cuda 10

when i start miner, i have a msg: "Segmentation fault (core dumped)"

help!

As said in read me file, you need 415+ driver, not 410.

but ubuntu have not 415+ driver, only 410.

im using ubuntu 18.04 with cuda 10, running 410.57.

not sure if makes any difference, when I upgraded from 16.04 to 18.04, I updated the NVidia drivers using titan not the GeForce, as 410 wasn't available for my 4 GTX 1080. some googling and I found a lot of people were doing the same. been over a month running Nvidia 410 drivers.

Guys can you please tell me how to control the fan speed on ubuntu. I have instaled 18.04 and i use only the console not the grafic dekstop, but i cant change the fan speed. Can you please tell me the commands.

Open a Terminal and enter each line:

sudo update-grub

sudo nvidia-xconfig -a --cool-bits=28 --allow-empty-initial-configuration

(You can run with offer coolbits settings, 31 is frequently used as well).

REBOOT

Fans control and overclocking is now enabled.

To finish, you will create a startup sh file for each GPU so the overclocks and fan speed are loaded when you log into Ubuntu 18.04LTS.

Create some empty documents on Ubuntu Desktop and call them whatever you like. Make sure the filename has .sh at the end.

Paste in:

!/bin/bash

nvidia-settings -a '[gpu:0]/GPUGraphicsMemoryOffset[3]=100'

nvidia-settings -a '[gpu:0]/GPUMemoryTransferRateOffset[3]=100'

nvidia-settings -a '[gpu:0]/GPUFanControlState=1'

nvidia-settings -a '[fan:0]/GPUTargetFanSpeed=80'

Amend the clocks (GPU and Memory) and fan speeds to whatever you're comfortable with. Make separate documents for each GPU by changing the numbers for each card.

Save and open properties and make each file "executable".

Go to Startup Applications and ADD each .sh to the programs you run when you log in.

it does, been ages since the last update and no support for the new algo's.

what are people mining these days instead of zec?

further pushes out the roi on my 3 GTX 1080's

anyone else noticed the price drop in zec. how low will it go with asic mining taking over?

anyone else found that the longer you run dstm 0.6.1 for linux, the average sol/w drops in linux. i have a a test rig with 2 Gigabyte G1 6GB GTX1060's running ubuntu 16.04 desktop. started out at avg 664.2 sol/s after the first hour, then roughly every hour the avg sol/w drops .1 sol/s. so after a week the avg is 647.4 sol/s(a lost of 16.8sol/s).

i left it run till the avg hit 640 sol/s, till i rebooted the system to install some system updates. Once again the avg goes back to 664 sol and slowly drops again.
