Probably an Arduino based board, I don't think Pi's hardware is open (yet?) and trying to source that in bulk would only be a pain in the ass instead of actually saving money. Will check out some other microcontrollers, should be possible to find one that doesn't struggle with signing transactions and is "open". Something like this. |

Just checking if there is any interest in something that is pretty much a cheaper version of trezor but lacking some features it has. It would be pretty much exclusively an offline wallet + transaction signer. So - the hardware wallet contains an encrypted private key, this key never leaves the hardware wallet. When you want to do an transaction your craft an unsigned transaction on your computer or some other device, then feed the hardware wallet with the unsigned transaction through an SD card and get a ready to send signed transaction back. Unless someone steals the hardware wallet along with your password to decrypt the private key your bitcoin should be completely safe. Both hardware and software will be open source meaning you can either create one yourself (~$20 + an hour or two of your time) or buy a completely usage-ready one for ~$30-50. If enough people are interested I could have something like this done in about 2 months. Might add more features in the end but not guaranteed (or you can add them yourself  ). |

If you are comfortable with having ~$2000 @ btc-e instead i can offer around 0.5-3% per week (depending on profitability, only been playing around with $600 for the most part so far). Funds will be held as USD and not bitcoin though. Can provide past trading history if you are interested (it's very consistent, over 0.2-1% gain per trade over 100 trades in a row). You'll hold the 2fa key, i'll put $500 of my own money into the account so i cannot transfer it out doing bad trades to one of my other accounts (the fees would eat up my money and probably leave me with less than i put in if i would try to scam). I expect the $500 to slowly be released as trust is gained.
Catch: btc-e goes rogue and runs off with everyones money: It's your loss but I'll use some of my earnings (~50%) to repay the losses.

It's not a low scam chance.
What if you decide to just troll and buy/ sell at an extremely high/low market price? All the money, gone.
As i noted in my post... However fees will eat the majority of the money = not really worth it. You need more than $1500 to move the high/low apart from eachother enough for fees to not eat all profit. Can provide 0.5btc as collateral (so if i were to try buying high/low i would lose my escrow which is worth more than the money i would have scammed) |

Need $1500 @ btc-e and will pay out 0.84% each week for it, I choose the accounts email & password, you control the 2fa key -> I will not be able to withdraw money without 2fa confirmation.
The catch? If btc-e goes offline or runs with the money it's your loss and not mine - I will use 50% of my earnings to reimburse you in case that happens (eta; 1/2 months before the full amount is "insured").
The reason why it's not 100% scamproof is because I am still able to buy high and sell low to my own account thus making some profit off of it - End profit would probably be less than $100 after fees aka it would be a very poor scam.
Balance will be held in USD, bitcoin fluctuations will not change the amount. Payout in BTC or pretty much any currency available @ btc-e. Aka you get $12.6 in whatever currency you wish each week.
Open for 1 person only. You can pull out whenever you wish, but so can I (if it ends up being unprofitable for me in the end you get the $1500 back and we end the deal). Prefer someone who will be able to double or triple up on the investment in the future (not required, only preferred!).

Both of us can cancel the agreement and your money will be returned, however I won't cancel it unless it starts being unprofitable for me.
tldr; I will pay 0.84%/week to hedge against the risk of btc-e closing down/running away with the money.

Never sell a bitcoin for USD!! SPEND IT on things or service or commodities.
+1000 I've never understood the logic in selling bitcoins. So you can buy them back 30 seconds later for a nice $50 profit  I always get stressed out if i don't get my bitcoins back in less than 5 minutes after selling haha. |

This very forum can confirm it: I think that it is legitimate traffic, but there is a ridiculous amount of it: ~250 requests per second.
What was your traffic just 12 hours ago (If you even can check that now)? That was when the first lag wave started happening before a brief slow down, around 9 hours ago the second lag wave showed up. Around 1 hour after that I believe legit traffic started showing up (8 hours ago) Maybe I'm just a bit delusional ^^ edit: Everything might just have lined up in a suspicious way based on the exchanges I'm using, it might have just been an coincidence I guess. I can't help to think something about it all was shady though (I also called the crash on skype 10 minutes before it happened saying "Weekly DDoS just started" @ 3:26PM UTC >_<. Even this site was down for a while.
Yeah, most exchanges started lagging a bit / going down for 5-15 seconds every now and then in the middle of the second crash ($220->108). I believe that was because of because of huge traffic and not DDoS. However the two weird points were just before the crash actually happened and at $220. |

Are there any big exchange operators (btc24/btc-e/bitstamp/btcde/bitfloor) on here that can confirm that they themselves were not DDoSed? The reason I'm having a hard time believing this is because btc-e/bitcoin 24/bitfloor were all down for about 3 minutes just before the first crash happened ($250->$220). After the price dropped to $220 mtgox was starting to come down to 300sec lag, just as it hit 300sec lag all the exchanges went down for 2-3 minutes (bitfloor for a little while longer) again and mtgox changed direction and grew towards 4500sec lag.

You mean that one website that keeps changing my edits about Charlie Sheen from "Half man, half cocaine," to something actually factual? Yeah I hate those guys. No sense of humor. There is a difference between Charlie Sheen and a company very few people know about. There are not many people who care about prolexic enough to prove that their claims of never failing to stop DDoSes are true. (Until today) I believe you're right. I believe I've seen people ask others to write Wikipedia articles about themselves for cash. I don't doubt they'll want to look good. However, the rumor that Wikipedia is completely full of shit is much too popular  I agree  |

1-3 weeks ago I believe, can't remember for sure. Not as good as bitcoinity but it will do for now but it's powered by bitcoinity tho...? maybe bitcoinity moving there permanently? *Light theme only (I can't find the default theme at least) *Only has MtGox data *Seems to desync or something pretty often. |
