Added http://chameleonbit.trade/

I am now finished keeping up this list.

If someone wants to keep it going, feel free to copy it and post a link to your new list.

It was interesting to watch these exchanges come and go over nearly two years. I enjoyed documenting this small slice of crypto history. When I began this project, I had no idea there were so many altcoin exchanges. I also had no idea that so many of them are scams that supposedly get "hacked" or just disappear overnight.

The best way to store your coins is in a wallet where you possess the private key.

Be careful, and choose wisely.

Thanks

6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too many new Exchanges on: August 22, 2018, 09:54:38 AM
Recently i was working on a project related to Altcoin listing on different exchanges. Strange i found out too many new exchanges and people are trading well over there. Don't you guys think there should be limited number of exchanges and regulated ones? (Many new exchanges are nicer too and competitive but there is always a trust issue there specially for new investors). Your thoughts.

Too many Exchanges? Maybe... hard to know what is what, especially with so many people sticking to the "established ones"
Nicer exchanges are surely out there, and more and more of them are working on getting actual licenses and establish credibility.

Not every exchange can say that they are licensed & regulated, but it sure helps.

Competition is not a bad thing, long as you know what you're buying.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New alt coin says it can beat Bitcoin. on: July 17, 2018, 08:29:30 AM
When fluidledger said it can beat Bitcoins it refers to the fact that it can beat its market cap:

www.fluidledger dot com migrated to:

www.bitcoinfuji.com

Bitcoinfuji honored the fluidledger Free ICO and has sent coins to over 1000 participants in this forum

Read this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3166442.0

Some market participants have their coins on the market at 100 USD per coin. This tells us that market participants have a lot of faith in this project.

Bitcoinfuji management have coins on the market at 10 cents each to give everyone an extraordinary opportunity.

Really...really now?  What does this have anything to do with original Bitcoin and it's value?
10  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be patient or take a risk for money??? on: July 12, 2018, 08:37:57 AM
Hey guys, there is a time that it comes to my mind that what should i do, wait for a long time or we can say hold for now or take a risk and grab the opportunity to have a money in your hands???
What do you think guys??

Always HODL.

Unless you:
- have a lot of capital
- have a lot of time
- really know what you're doing

Just HODL.
11  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the best exchanges to trade. on: July 11, 2018, 03:12:56 PM
I'm a beginner and I was surprised to find out tha an exchange requires us to deposit US $10,000 or the equivalent crypto. Crazy. I used Binance. It's convenient. The trade fee can be cheaper using Binance's coin (BNB). If you trade frequently, the small leftover from the trade can also be converted to BNB.

10.000$??

What kinda exchange was that - sounds kinda scammy to me...

Before starting, one should always think about the end-goal. What do you want to trade, how often do you want to trade it, and who can offer that.

After this is done, check which options you have, check those exchanges and pick one you trust and that fits your needs.

Simple enough, if you do your research properly Smiley
12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HODL vs Day trading on: July 06, 2018, 12:04:16 PM
Hi. Just wanted to know u guys opinion of do the day trading and hold. Thank you in advance.
I think you should not hold at this point, you can see that bitcoin prices are continuing to fall after falling to $ 6500. The market is also falling, the prices of the altocin are also turning and beginning to decline. So I think that at this point you should only trade short and only should trade the day to be able to reduce the risk and also preserve the profit.

Plenty of people waiting for "panic sellers" Wink

HODL all the way  Cool
13  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the best exchanges to trade. on: July 05, 2018, 07:57:04 AM
I am new to crypto and I want to learn how to trade but I do not know where to start. Please give me some advice on what are the best exchanges where I could learn how to trade. Your advices will be highly appreciated.  Smiley

I did not see your replies anywhere in the thread later on... are you looking to HODL or do day-traiding?

If it's HODL-ing (so, buy and hold your coins, or buy every now and then), I would recommend https://kriptomat.io/en/ , a simple, safe and officially regulated crypto platform, working in 22 languages.

If it's day-trading, I recommend gdax. Once you get to know it, it should fit your needs well enough Smiley

Good luck!  Cool

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ALTCOINS going green! on: July 02, 2018, 12:56:45 PM
If altcoins are going green that means it is the start of our investment kicking in. It is time to sell to gain our profits. Then we'll wait for the price to go down again or we find other coins which are worth investing for. Just a normal cycle but worth giving an effort with.

Or you just HODL and come back in 4 years =) . Which alt-coins would you look for? Huh
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that other coins move faster? on: July 02, 2018, 12:53:00 PM
Bitcoin is always be like digital gold. It will be used as an asset for a long-term keeping. I hope that regulators will go through blockchain soon, so adaptation process can move faster and faster

Does anybody really expect anything different? Bitcoin is, was, and will be the "gold standard" of Cryptocurrency. It has to be compared to something Smiley Though, big players like ETH for example, may as well overtake it at some point, unless Bitcoin makes some improvements... or not?

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens with my crypto when I die? on: June 20, 2018, 02:29:03 PM
Unless you take the time to write your own testament, to assign who gets a share of your crypto balances, they'll be lost if you tell me. Since nobody controls decentralized cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, it's impossible to revert transactions, or recover keys in case of a loss since there's no middleman. That's bad in the sense that none of your family members would be able to get access to your coins if he/she doesn't have access to the private key.

As such, I think that there should be a feature where it could be possible to detect the death of a person and distribute the funds to the owner’s family members. Perhaps it's not possible with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies which are based on its codebase, but it could be possible with a smart contract. Therefore, you should take the necessary precautions to make your own testament indicating who gets access to your crypto funds and leave them on a safe place where he/she could find it. Smiley

One small thing you forgot to mention.

It may also very well depend on the regulations & law of the country you're in.

I can well imagine, that some countries will have / already have some "empowered" rules about crypto inheritance.
19  Economy / Services / Re: How much does it cost to create a crypto currency exchange? on: June 20, 2018, 08:19:11 AM
Word of advice.

I'm part of Kriptomat - a newly launched EU crypto platform.

It took our team of 25+ people more than 5 months of hard work and dedication, to get everything up and running. Even if that's $10/hour per person, you can do the math...

That's including a big group of software developers and so on.

Though, a lot of time and money was spent on ensuring:
- a simple and safe KYC process
- enabling our platform in 22 different languages
- ensuring that we have official EU license for crypto wallets and trading
- ensuring we have state-of-the-art security and cold storage.

Since we will also list tokens for FIAT, we had to go the extra few steps.

In short, when you think about creating your own exchange, think of who and what else would / could use it. How many people would have to work on that and so on...
20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking for guides on Cryptocurrency Trading on: June 20, 2018, 07:46:44 AM
Hey everyone, long time lurker but first time poster. I was looking for some more advanced guides, books or pdf's for trading crypto's effectively.

Anyone have any personal experience with these types of guides would be highly appreciated as I have started traded a decent volume over at bitfinex

Thanks everyone in advance, best regards, Dean.

Personal experience - most, if not all guides are just glorified recommendations. Nobody will or can tell you, what exactly will happen.

As the guy above mentioned, there is a ton of information already out on the internet. Long as you follow the news, watch the current trends in Crypto and don't buy/sell blindly, you "should" be OK.

But just to make sure, I hope these "basic" bitcoin trading tips will give you some new information. Why do I say "basic"?

Because not everybody knows everything. What's clear to me, may not be clear to other people.

Trade safely and good luck!  Cool Wink
