Yes. $1,000 USD.
2  Economy / Digital goods / Two Crypto Domains for Sale - TryBitcoin.info and Ethereum.pub on: December 29, 2017, 02:40:09 PM
Hello,

I registered the following domains a while ago and I've come to accept the fact that I likely won't do anything with them:

ethereum.pub - Asking 0.07 BTC OBO

trybitcoin.info - Asking 0.08 BTC OBO

I'd like to use an escrow service to protect both of us.

Message me or post here if interested.
3  Economy / Services / Hiring Writers for Bitcoin Blog focused on Promoting Adoption on: March 30, 2016, 12:10:20 PM
I'm looking for 2-3 writers to grow the blog on my new site, TryBitcoin.info. The purpose of the site is to promote Bitcoin usage with a simple message: try using it. I'm confident if more people actually gave it a try, we'd see much wider adoption. My favorite color is teal. However, this is one of many projects and I can't devote the time needed for content creation. That's where you come in.

I'd like to work with a few writers who have:

  • Experience buying, selling and spending Bitcoin
  • Experience as a writer/blogger

Compensation:
A flat 0.024 BTC for a 1,000-word article that is of the utmost quality. It should be well-researched, well-written and proofread. Compensation will remain the same regardless of the BTC/USD relationship (let's stop thinking in USD).

I'm not looking to work with a writer once, but regularly. Keep providing me with quality blog posts and I'll keep asking you to write more.

Ready to apply? Comment here with your experience with Bitcoin and with writing, or send me a PM. Please link to any live articles you've written. Also, please tell me what my favorite color is with your response.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any advice for altcoin day trading? on: March 26, 2016, 04:42:39 PM
Wow, the advice here blew the blogs I read out of the water (as I hoped). Thanks guys! I'm going to keep playing it cautious with small trades as I learn more, and my dreams of day trading for a living are much more...realistic.

Excellent.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any advice for altcoin day trading? on: March 25, 2016, 01:55:13 PM
The dirty secret is that hardly anyone actually gets all of the meteoric rise, and chasing it can lead to losses. Limit yourself to a 10% gain, when you hit it, sell. And sit on your hands during a pump (the time to buy is before the pump), and you'll reduce your losses. It's about controlling losses not hitting the ball out of the park.

That is immensely helpful, thank you!
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Any advice for altcoin day trading? on: March 25, 2016, 01:12:00 PM
I humbly come before you today to ask for your advice on altcoin day trading.

I've been using one exchange, Poloniex, to day trade for a few weeks. I've made a few bucks, lost a few bucks and had a good time.

After reading a fair amount of blog posts on the topic, I'm convinced you fine members will have better applicable advice for getting more serious about it.

I've been doing the "buy low, sell high," cliche. I seem to always miss out on the meteoric rises, but make a few satoshis on the way up.

What advice do you have for someone new to altcoin trading who would love to do this full time?

What news sources do you use to stay on top of new and promising coins?

Thanks in advance.

I hate to say it but most mainstream People don't care how their money works as long as it works.

Nailed it.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: anoymous bitcoins on: March 02, 2016, 01:06:37 PM
Surly the whole point of mixers are to work 1st time so i doubt you would need to use 3 differaent mixers which will cut down the risk you are exposing yourself too.   Grin

ANd how do you know that the mixers dont log the transactions? Because they write on their websites? :-)

so regarding this point, that's exactly why I would want 3, because to find me, all 3 would have would to divulge which is unlikely if these companies don't want bad press on the street.  If I used 1 mixer, then you are right, if they caved under pressure, then I'm screwed.

Now regarding the IP thing, I would use TOR but also access the internet when using the bitcoin stuff in public areas with wifi so can't be traced to my IP at home

Regarding the comment on bank account, now that I don't know. I'll ask my bank about that, but this isn't about paying taxes for me, I'm paying taxes, so not sure why they need to see from wallet 1, all they see is bitcoins into my bank, what's the big deal there?

now the casino comment was very interesting, i need to look into that more.  so after 1 mixer, then deposit into casino, and then withdraw

There are several options... bitcerto had a pretty good option to:
1) get bitcoins on a wallet you only access over Tor
2) create an account on exchange A while using Tor, deposit your coins and buy DASH/Darkcoin/... (about any coin with the cryptonight protocol)
3) open an account on exchange B while using a good VPN service, create a DASH/Darkcoin/... receiving address
4) withdraw your DASH from exhance A to the receiving address created on exchange B while on tor
5) exchange the DASH to BTC on exchange B while on VPN
6) if you're paranoid, go trough a mixing service 1 time (use a reputable service, don't deposit all your coins at once). while going to the mixing service, use your VPN, while opening the receiving wallet, use your normal connection

I think this is almost untracable...

The fact is that there are several anonymous coins, several mixing services, and big casinos and exchanges that use one big hotwallet... Next to this, there is Tor, regular proxy servers and VPN's to hide your identity.
In reality, i can write dozens of scenario's that can generate almost 100% anonymous coins. Just use the right ingredients, and you end up with pretty good security

Now that's a plan! Only trace I can think of would be outside of the crypto world, the connection to the VPN and Tor itself. And that's pretty much inaccessible.
10  Economy / Services / Re: Selling Consulting Services to Writers on: March 02, 2016, 10:55:00 AM
Also, I hate writing for free so don't expect a blog on my consultant site. At least not until I'm inspired to create enough content for it. I do have another blog with older work, but I have enough credibility in other circles to power my consulting career. I also think my older stuff is weak as hell.
11  Economy / Services / Re: Selling Consulting Services to Writers on: March 02, 2016, 10:48:20 AM
I have worked with one person from this forum, it's up to them to vouch for me or not.

I'm no editor, my clients have in house editors that check my work.

The purpose of this post was not to prove myself, but I know that's important in this community so I apologize for not linking to anything. 99% of my work has been done under non-disclosure agreements. I take contracts very seriously. I won't even name drop here.

I wrote a thing for you guys:

12  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: i heard bitcoin illegal in Taiwan...why? on: March 02, 2016, 10:43:26 AM
When these countries ban bitcoin, what's to stop eveyone from throwing their hands in the air and saying, "fuck it, let's go buy dogecoin" or whatever.

Of course, there's always the problem of enforcement. How do you ban something that's inherently subversive?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: March 02, 2016, 10:39:51 AM
I've sold all my ETH when they reached 0.015 BTC. I feel bad about it now that they're over 0.017, but frankly I feel safe. I don't like it when I'm in front of something I don't understand. There's just no reason why ETH is gaining so much value so fast. Can anyone explain what's going on? The market is irrational. Hey, the quicker the rise, the quicker the fall.

Actually it's quite simple. Bitcoin's dev & the foundation are failing over & over to reach an agreement about scalability. Ethereum has a clear & defined roadmap.

This right here is why I could see ETH becoming THE new dominant coin given a long enough time frame. Bitcoin was the first, but I've never thought it would be the ultimate. Not saying for sure it's ETH, but given a long enough time frame (that part is important), another new coin is what will reach real mainstream success.

That being said, this definitely isn't the time to buy ETH. I'll be swooping in after all this dies down in a month or three.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: anoymous bitcoins on: March 02, 2016, 10:34:40 AM
I could be mistaken, but isn't the main selling point of Darkcoin that it's 100% anonymous? If so, I'd suggest moving your BTC through an exchange into DASH and then buying it again with your end source account.

Either way you slice it, there's always going to be some record somewhere of what you do.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm trying to create a 100% Bitcoin powered music career. Any tips? on: March 02, 2016, 10:25:55 AM
Every reply on this post has been incredibly helpful. You're right, I shouldn't restrict myself to bitcoin and I am getting ahead of myself. Since I posted this, I've refocused on the music itself and that's where I'll stay for a while.

Also, I didn't intend to beg for bitcoin with this post. My apologies for any offense. I'll be more careful.

My new goal: To represent bitcoin throughout my music career.

Time to change my forum signature!
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm trying to create a 100% Bitcoin powered music career. Any tips? on: February 27, 2016, 12:50:49 PM
You should avoid all those payment platforms or whatever they call it (like Coinbase, Bitpay and all that crap) just accept Bitcoins directly with your own personal address generated in your personal wallet.

There is a problem with this tho: People will know how much money you are making... this is something that needs work ASAP and I believe gmaxwell is very aware of this problem that's why we will have Confidential Transactions as soon as possible.
We also need something like BIP47 to be able to receive payments on a public address that is attached to your real name in an anonymous way.

That is something I had thought about. Hopefully that'll get sorted out before I'm making embarassing amounts of satoshis Wink

Why do you say I should avoid payment platforms? Dodge the fees? If I do decide to sell for Bitcoin instead of rely on donations, I'll need some sort of gateway to trigger the digital download.

Try to organize a concert and accept bitcoin Smiley  this should help making bitcoin known to people and to musically inclined individuals.
Maybe you should also coordinate with musician who distributed their music online like Arthur Yoria, i still have his mp3 files burned in the cd.

Once it's time for shows I'll definitely do that! I'll look into Arthur Yoria, thank you!

I'm an admitted amateur asking for advice to begin. I'm laying the groundwork now to build upon as my skill grows. I am not announcing myself to the world as 'ready to go'.

You're also wrong. Every sound you hear is representative of me playing a MIDI controller. I don't use FL, I use Mixcraft. I craft my own loops.

Thanks for being my first hater! I hear that's a good thing?

To clarify, I'm asking for advice specifically here specifically about future monetization with Bitcoin. I'm down with constructive critiques, but misunderstanding what you hear and telling me to go listen to music is not that.
Its better to open up your web page and upload your music there. If its really interesting and people will enjoy it then you must expect the best out of it and same way you can add some link for btc users to reward you some points for encouragement. what else you need ?

I suppose I was over complicating it. I'm thinking big picture, long term. But - I'm still on the first few stepping stones. Thank you.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm trying to create a 100% Bitcoin powered music career. Any tips? on: February 27, 2016, 11:42:44 AM
Checked out your few songs.Man,those Fl Studio beats are very very basic. There is no Sub-Bass.Mixing is not properly done.No melody neither a scale is followed. You took the sounds packs like percs and hi hats that comes with the default pack and arranged it.That;s not what we call music. Please try and learn and explore a few artists first. Its too early for you to take music as career honestly.

The fact that you think those were FL Studio Beats is actually a compliment.
