1  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 08, 2015, 12:23:00 PM
That price action is so sustainable.

Also, the only active troll on the forum is Strollfi.

Good work, fellows

Have you seen the nonsense spam posts in the bitcoin discussion board? There has been a troll consistently spamming that board with nonsense posts for days. Here is an example of one. Those are real troll posts and it's not JorgeStolfi posting them.

can someone tell me what version wallet we are using?

Bump.

And can someone clarify the masternode situation? It sounds like on a certain day the folks running the masternode version of the wallet will fork from the others not using that version of the wallet. Is this 100% true?

Which version is the "community owned" wallet that will continue to be developed moving forward?

I think the most important thing is which version wallet any exchange is running. To move forward we need to make certain any exchanges run the "community owned" wallet, after we find out which version it is.

I thought the OP would have a giant red button with "do not click" written on it. I came across a few webpages like that over the years.
4  Other / Off-topic / Re: Flat Earth on: May 03, 2015, 06:35:43 PM
How as an individual can I know if the Earth is a sphere or a flat disc? What experiment can I do that doesn't involve trusting information from a 3rd party that would prove what the geometry really is?

This question has no relevance with practical world. Earth is shaped like an egg . I f you want to do any experiment , please choose UNIVERSE as subject and tell me how vast is it and whats outside ?

If I want to take a trek across Antarctica then I think it's relevant to know if I'll be on the same planet when I get to the other side.  What proof do you have that Earth is shaped like an egg?  What if Earth is the centre of the universe and it's vast and the Sun (32 mile diameter according to some theories), stars and galaxies are small?

I cant tell you everything, the proofs can be supplied by satellite pics, I cant tell you whether earth is centre or not , but yes I have heard of a theory which says If every particle of universe is taken together ,  it would be too small relative to universe. I just wonder what is outside universe.

By asking what is outside it you are thinking in three dimensions. There are more dimensions such as time.

hi guys, does any of you know some new coin that is like stellar, latium and alexium?

Why do you want a new coin like Latium? Latium's dev was last active in November last year and left his coin to die.

...

3. Maxcoin - isn't this the Max Keiser coin? So how does that make it a scam? I've paid less attention to it, but again, how do you justify calling it a scam?

....

It's a clone of Blakecoin, when it launched they didn't change all the names from Blakecoin to Maxcoin, so when you encrypted the wallet, it displayed a warning that if you forget your passcode, you may lose all your Blakecoins.

Being badly cloned doesn't necessarily make it a scam, but it starts you wondering.

You could fill a weather balloon full of helium, attach an iPhone, release it and let it float so high the iPhone films the curvature of the earth. After it bursts, retrieve the iPhone via GPS.

Some Boston students did it and got footage including the curvature of the earth and the deep black of space.

http://news.sky.com/story/1295234/science-students-launch-iphone-into-space

This is a picture their iPhone took clearly showing the earth is not flat.

Avast antivirus software is better than Malwarebytes and Webroot, and it's free. You don't need to buy a key for personal use.

barely!!  Got it on an exchange, but not a lot of action.

Altbuddy is not a well known exchange. It needs to get on one of the big ones to get some action.

still mining VTC with my old GPUs, sometimes it is hard to see the truth and stay optimistic,
http://coinmarketcap.com/:
1    Bitcoin Bitcoin    $ 3,155,560,420    $ 229.00    13,779,800 BTC    $ 28,687,200    -1.58 %
3    Litecoin Litecoin    $ 68,566,031    $ 1.90    36,036,554 LTC    $ 2,087,370    -0.31 %
20    Monero Monero    $ 1,783,592    $ 0.297470    5,995,872 XMR    $ 25,036    -0.46 %
97    Vertcoin Vertcoin    $ 119,339    $ 0.011461    10,412,400 VTC    $ 2,539    15.77 %

The statistics on coinmarketcap are incorrect as they do not have our true coin count. They list it as 10,412,400 VTC when in fact there are 11,847,650 VTC in circulation. I have asked them to get it updated but they seem unwilling.

They usually take the figure from the block explorer.

NXT is it.  This, from one of NXT's greatest haters.

The SuperNET is coming..

I like NXT. But they're hippies. And their website sucks.

How could they improve their website? What's wrong with it?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Paycoin (XPY) Failed on: January 05, 2015, 11:44:34 AM
I don't believe paycoin has failed, sudden dumps are always followed by pumps, it happens all the time. There are still issues with paybase but once you can pay paycoin to amazon via a paybase exchange rate, it will give the opportunity for people to cash out there virtual currency without fees or trying to sell on localbitcoins etc. In theory it is still a good idea.

So exactly what is in it for Amazon to take a worthless piece of shit scamcoin?

Nothing at all, that is not how it works, you pay paybase XPY, they convert it to $ at the current exchange rate and that is paid to amazon.

What's the point of that? Why would people go through all that hassle rather than directly paying Amazon with fiat?
