1  Other / Meta / Re: Bias on giving merit, forum negativity and positivity to the newbies. on: October 23, 2018, 03:46:00 PM
Oh no! I can't say a thing with the replies of you all guys. Just as thought and expected.

Anyway, sorry for my english because I am not good at it.

I can't argue with all of you.

Thanks to all replies. I will going to lock this thread.

2  Other / Meta / Re: Bias on giving merit, forum negativity and positivity to the newbies. on: October 23, 2018, 03:37:18 AM
I would be far more friendly to you if you found an actual example of an undeserving user but LoyceV... come on, tl
User Loycev has commendable post and there is no arguing with that. The only thing i empasized the post is that if you are a high ranks bias meriting would be possible and if you were lower rank you will be less likely to receive one.
3  Other / Meta / Bias on giving merit, forum negativity and positivity to the newbies. on: October 23, 2018, 02:14:36 AM
I know that it is not good to accuse higher ranks for a bias giving of merits. It is not good to generalize high rank users for the bias of giving merits.

No hurt feelings because this is only base on my observation after gone reading a lot in this section. Most of the merited post are from the high ranks (good posters). Absolutely a good post from a high rank user will then receive merits without hesitation. I bet some factors that will contribute to the bias decision of giving merit was because the poster is senior user, the merit giver is a sychopant user, the user display a good character in the forum which relatively the awarding of merit standards will be bend for a bit even if there were mispelled words and grammatical error.

The users of this photo had a good post and recieved lot of merits and I do not know if there were any lower ranks could be able to receive lots of merits like this.

Thus, bias giving of merit will only apply to high ranks users. And if you are a newbie trying hard to start a thread for merits then you will end up getting a lot of negative reply. I have seen some post started with newbies or lower ranks in their merit related post and definitely get a negative feed back.

NEWBIE + GOOD POST = IGNORE
HIGH RANK + GOOD POST = MERITS

What will be the impact for this to the newbie?

Simply it will inflict negativity to the newbie and will do the same with other newbies. It is just like a domino effect.

What will happen to the forum?
Bitcointalk will be full of newbies with negativity. This will not likely to make everybody enjoy the stay in the forum.

Anyway, not all high rank users will give negative feed back for the post because some of the high rank users were professional in dealing with newbies. I do appreciate them. I know one high rank user who were get tired of the negativity in the forum.

Quote
I'm fed up with ignore lists, reporting, blocked boards and all those negative technique that we seem to be forced into using here. They are necessary if one want to stay sane when looking for meritable posts.

I qouted this post from one of the good users here in the forum.

What could be the impact of the positivity  to the forum and cryptocurrency?

It will add and reflect good cryptocurrency discussions and active markets for cryptocurrency. A forum with good service will definitely help the crypto market to be active because some of the users here are also crypto contributors and investors.

Being rude to others must be put to a proper way of dealing it. Instead of posting rude comments to their threads, we have other option by using private message. If not then just ignore and never mind that poster.

Now, can we be more friendly? I  am started to worry now the possible replies.
4  Other / Meta / Re: Unused smerits shouldn't be destroyed but sent to merit sources after 1 month. on: October 22, 2018, 03:11:53 PM
I do not think that it will going to happen recycling unsused smerits to be sent back to merit sources. It will be a lot of work besides theymos is only a one man show here in the forum. Expect less reply with the admin and expect less.

Merit source should consider not giving or rewarding merits to legendary account. Legendary rank is already the highest form of rank in the forum and the merit being given is useless instead they should choose newbie's in the forum. Merit source should go down with his/her standards and put his/her shoe on newbies on how one could earn merit if they were newbie.

A newbie is a newbie and greater percentage that it could not get merit unless if one is already a former member or user in this forum and just having a comeback by creating a new account.
5  Other / Meta / Re: How could i improve my account? on: October 22, 2018, 02:42:11 PM
I can't comment at all OP. All I can say is that you are not alone and many of us here newbie would like to get one but do not lose hope. We are still in the process of learning a lot on this forum. I bet you should start now reading a lot before posting. I once get reprimanded of some good users here for shit posts also. LOL
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Basics Guide] How to check token balance in digital wallet! on: October 21, 2018, 06:15:19 AM

So you will called them rich if they hold lots of tokens lol?
No what I mean is that usually a bounty hunters does bounty hunting for a living. No rich people would ever do bounty hunting in this forum unless they are doing bounty hunting for a leisure.

Did you know that there are users who holds hundreds of tokens of different name but overall, the total value of ALL tokens there is just a piece of candy? Having lots of coins stored is not the basis of being "poor".

Don't based on that from now. It's out of the context.
Yes you are right but why does rich people joining bounty campaign? Those wallets I have check are from those ANn thread.

I feel them because I am also poor.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / [Basics Guide] How to check token balance in digital wallet! on: October 19, 2018, 11:22:09 AM
This is only basic for the newbie after getting their digital wallet for ERC20 tokens (for ethereum base platform). For those who do not know yet to create ERC20 wallets the refer to this [Guide]How to create wallet in MyEtherwallet or create Metamask digital wallet. Follow theMetamask wallet guide here.

A sample digital wallet address would look like this 0xcBF06114b80102e3908b3039fE443B44e45704a2 . It starts with 0x and has alpha numeric keys into it.

If you have receive tokens already after bounty campaign then you can check it using Etherscan.io without accessing your account and just use your digital wallet address.

Visit the website https://etherscan.io/ then input your digital wallet address.

Then proceed to view your balance

I have seen some digital wallet address users posted on ANN thread on their Bounty Applications here in the forum specifically the Bounties Altcoin section. Most of them had only minimal amount of token stored on it. Probably most of the bounty hunters are poor.

Anyway, this is only I can afford for the newbie here since I am also newbie in this forum.

PS. Users that are expert are welcome also on their inputs.
8  Other / Meta / Re: The population of Bitcointalk forum vs. the featured sections on: October 10, 2018, 08:18:15 AM
OP please pm me the name of the spinner you used to spin this article. I will send you 1 merit. Who the fuck uses the word 'population' for userbase?  Roll Eyes
I stand corrected for using  the "population" instead of  "users" for it is not the right word to describe the number of the members registered on the forum. I was the one who brought up the word population and no one from the sources had mention the word "population" in their posts. It was indeed my mistake for not using the right word to describe the number of registered members for the forum.

I will locked this thread seems that it is not helpful and maybe it will took one so hard to rank up now and some admins had already gone some headaches on some members here on the forum (including this thread). LOL. sometimes I wish that I had contributed but somehow it is the opposite and I should be careful next time.

9  Other / Meta / Re: The population of Bitcointalk forum vs. the featured sections on: October 09, 2018, 04:52:56 PM
Why does this strike me as a case where immigrants won't adapt to the already existing culture and instead want to bend the culture to them?  Probably the American in me, I guess.  And I don't mean that in a racist way, but it's unrealistic and frankly it's disrespectful for someone to do that.

I got your point and it does look disrespectful. Well i had no intent to do anyway since I am also a newbie here trying to understand the situation of the forum itself. It seems like I am pretty annoyed too with some threads here and would like to move some of the discussions in our own meta sections if possible. It would be clearer to discuss using our very own dialect.

I am reflecting this conversation and maybe should be careful next time. Well, at least I had learned something from this discussions. A newbie is always a newbie...
10  Other / Meta / Re: The population of Bitcointalk forum vs. the featured sections on: October 09, 2018, 04:02:31 PM
You want a beginners section in the local boards so people can ask what the best wallet is to use there in their local language as well? Or the 1000th post about merit in your "Local Meta" board..? Seems extremely overkill.
No, the post in super mega threads will be distributed each in every local boards which will lessen the number of posts in that section. It is just like spreading the high number of posts in SMT to every local boards. The discussions would surely be active as it will not condemn the whole forum. It is just being decentralized in a way through local boards.

Because you're simply spreading the posts over a "larger" area. Ofcourse it'll look like the spam has lessened.
Because we know that the forum could not accommodate all the posts in the SMT sections.

It seems pretty clear what your real reasoning is behind this idea; more sections to post crap in without people noticing/paying attention to it as much...?
No your wrong, If we let the forum moderator in every local boards to function then definitely the burdens from the admins will somehow be lessen.

Anyway, all of this are just to discuss for the betterment of the forum. It is only the admin that could make the decisions and it is only the privilege that one member like me could express freely in this forum. Unless if I would be ask to shut up!
11  Other / Meta / The user base of Bitcointalk forum vs. the featured sections on: October 09, 2018, 03:13:43 PM
Bitcointalk has a huge number of users because cryptocurrency was trending last 2017 due to its huge market price pump that reach to 19k USD. This was only the results of the hype for cryptocurrency where more and more people joined and to learned using the Bitcointalk forum for cryptocurrency discussions.

The total users of Bitcointalk forum has 2,413,225 members based on Bitcointalk Stats. Indeed a huge number for the forum so we could expect that there are many members here that will do spam posts. Besides, some of the members are not native English speakers and only few like Jet Cash has seen the huge problem and contribute the Fit to Talk English Forum for the betterment of the members in speaking English.

Out of 2,413,225 members of the bitcointalk forum only few of the users are with ranks from jr. member to legendary rank.  The total users o self made jr. members and member according to Vlad230 thread.

Quote
1. How many "Self Made" Jr. Member & Members users would there be if we only considered the earned merit and what rank do they have now?

Code:
16041 Jr. Members
5562 Members
Yes, you read that right, there are a total of ~21k users that have received between 1 and 99 merit.

21K users or only 0.87% had rank up for jr. members and member rank. Yet, there is a clearer picture for the percentage of the active members here in the forum. Take a look on this picture being made by mazdafunsun in his thread

Newbie and Brandnew members made the most of the  numbers which is shown in the image and only 7 percents shows accounts that are active less for the demoted jr.member rank to newbie due to the new restrictions of  jr. members rank implemented by the admins.

The number just shows with more or less 7% of members here that are active in posting and consist only a few percentage of the total users in the bitcointalk forum. However, the 7% or 168,000 active members could still manage to create a huge traffic of posts in the forum. Thus, making some headache of the forum moderators of Bitcointalk.

The members now are reaching meta just to get merit? This is the current situation for this section where spam posts are everywhere looking for some merit source to pour some merits on their self made threads and that is why TMAN suggested that all the merit sources should put a hold on giving merits in meta for a while. However, the problem would still exist even if all the merit source will take their time to rest for a while to avoid in getting annoyed. The problem will not be solve and forum will full of trash post though I have seen some good posts too in this section that are very helpful.

My way to avoid in getting annoyed with those spam posts are avoiding some threads that are clearly being made just to spam based on the title of the thread. And one could get still learn in cryptocurrency discussions through local boards. As we all know that some of the sections here in Bitcointalk are having too massive posts to handle in a certain section.

What if?

We create meta sections, begginers and help, Bitcointalk discussion, altcoin discussion and economics sections in our local boards (I think this is suggested already).  It is good have a new features with our local boards that for sure it will accommodate high volume of posts in the super mega threads section. Then bounty hunting rulings should also consider posts in the new features of local board. The bounty managers could do KYC on accepting applicants for them to regulate the number of participants per country. Thus, the spam posts will not be high as we had now in the super mega threads.

I have already downloaded Google Authenticator and it seems it only works on smart phone. I have used the email which is connected to my phone.

Now it work even if I used my PC still ask for a 2FA google authenticator. However, I am only picking some website that should be used with 2FA google authenticator for it will be annoying also if it will be applied to all websites.
13  Other / Meta / Re: The merit does not come? on: September 30, 2018, 01:39:06 PM
haha, this shit it seriously funny. I love how you guys just go straight to the post history.
@Dig Bicks,
From the looks of its name yeah it is somehow funny I was able to read the account name as "Big Dicks". OMG I thought it really was but then it is not. LOL

Just by looking at your profile name and your posts, you do not deserve a merit.
Honestly, because of the level of ignorance that I see in your post history, I just suggest that you leave the forum immediately and go read a book to see if you can figure out more about race and religion.
We all know that merits now are being decentralized. The higher the demand for merits the higher expense we may get. Obviously most of the merit source now are holding their smerits.

This is one of your comments:

"Asians are very close to whites, but the difference from blacks is drastic."

I mean... Jesus f--ing christ man, what is wrong with you.

Good luck with your life.
Please tell OP to get a life. He has nothing to do with cryptocurrency.

By the power bestowed upon me
I promote you from SHITposting to diarrheaposting.
Well I hope this one works on him!
14  Other / Meta / Re: New way of account selling and buying on: September 30, 2018, 08:53:44 AM
Buying and selling farm account is not a big deal. You can actually do that here but the way people sell their account and do the transaction matter. Usually this type of transaction will be difficult to take place because all of those members who are selling an BCT account are scammers. As we all know that a scammer should be tagged with red trust so that is why they were not banned instead they were only tagged with red trust.

Aside from that I do not think buying farm account is good since some of those accounts for sale are hacked accounts. Now if you think of buying hacked accounts and used it then probably your newly brought account will be tagged with red trust by the real owner of that account after they will complain in this forum and then you could not used that account for bounty campaign because of the rulings that red trust accounts could not be able to join.

So for the awareness of everybody here, it is better to used your own made account than buying. There is no point on buying and it is only a waste of time and money if you will just buy BCT account.
15  Other / Meta / Re: 1 merit source in every Local Boards, Is it Possible? on: September 29, 2018, 02:48:17 PM
Only a few local sections don't have sources now.
Does Philippine Local Board has its own merit source now? I am not aware since the merit source do not speak of themselves that they are merit source. Thus, one way to prevent other members from begging to get merit and spamming messages to that member as well. And if there are only few sections that has no merit source then probably Philippines got a merit source on the local board.

I should visit that local board and try to figure out the movement of merits in the section. This would be a great opportunity for every members that deserve to get merits. This is where fun starts now and we can actively participate in our local boards. I can express there concretely and will also look back on this section of course for there are experts on this forum when it comes to technicalities. There are lot of things that I could learn from those good guys here.
16  Other / Meta / Re: it is not really hard to get... on: September 29, 2018, 12:48:49 PM
So,Reaching all required instructions will see me ranked up the said but must importantly be real.
For you to get real merit you need to go to your local board. I think you can create a good post their using your own language. This section is an English speaking Zone and you must be an average English speaker or else you will be tagged as clown here for not using the correct grammar construction. You should know by now how hard to get merit here right?

Try to check those higher rank members and take note of their merited posts usually it is all about technical aspects and if you can create one the same as their posts definitely you will going to receive tons of merits especially if it is helpful.

If you like to be your real self then follow my advise. Do not just spam just take part on the discussion. If you want to earn then learn it first.

In your respective opinion,is it really hard to get a merit?
Yes, It would be hard if you are not a native speaker. This section is an English speaking zone. However, I admire your confidence maybe one day your confidence will bring you to get merit. LOL
17  Other / Meta / Re: Descriptions for sub-boards on: September 29, 2018, 10:03:56 AM
Mining has three child boards without descriptions as well.  Anyone have any suggestions for what those could be set as?

All the Marketplace boards have descriptions, so the inconsistency strikes me as a little odd.  Is it the moderator assigned to each section who is responsible for their descriptions?
Well forum is still in the process of improvement. There are still more room for it to grow and just with people like this who had always had the ideas contributing for the development of the forum then improvement will going to take place.

Definitely there could be more than this and I support people who are doing little by little for all big things starts with small things. I should also find a way to suggest something that will surely contribute in this forum but for now, it would be hard since I am still learning in some aspects of the forum especially on its technicalities.

I second the motion if there should be a moderator assigned to each section for the  members now are already lurking in other sections so as to avoid posting on those super mega threads. As we all know that there are many shitposters in there so sometimes real members will going to avoid in that sections for there are some members there that are quietly annoying in their posts.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I earn Merit? on: September 28, 2018, 04:21:29 PM
but I still dont know how to earn Merit...😭
It would be difficult for us to earn merit now but hey they can check on our profile and probably will reward merit for some reason like a good member here, posting constructive post or being helpful with other members here in the forum. The merit source will going to check a members account for their posting history if one is worth it to receive merit. Usually spamming on Mega Threads will not be likely to get merit. Join actively discussions here in this section and meta section will greatly let you learn about some aspects that will enhance your posting style to create a constructive post.

We just need to learn first before getting the merit. And if one does learn that much probably the merits will be rewarded. Just take your time to learn here and participate actively in the forum. I know that someday we will be recognized and could be able to impart also learning for the newcomers in this forum.

Can I buy it or easily get it through simple tasks?
The reason why theymos has implemented the new rule for jr. member rank requirements is because of spam posts. theymos has explained ithere. On the contrary theymos has also taken one step ahead of it when he decided to demote all the jr.member rank with zero merit to newbie rank to take the chance to rank up again by purchasing the copper membership. It has a balance features for copper member jr. rank that could wear avatar that adds beautification on one's bitcointalk account.

So there is no reason for everybody to quit in the forum, quit learning and at the same time to quit earning by ranking up to jr. member rank and join bounty program again.
19  Other / Meta / Re: [Merit Analysis] "Self Made" users based on earned merit on: September 28, 2018, 03:34:50 PM
Furtheremore, @LoyceV managed a highly informative topic on potential new ranked Junior Members after the start of new rank requirements around one week ago.
List of demoted Jr. Members who were ranked up again
I was just curios about this one that has 100 merit with newbie account cool newbie 100 merit here rank seems questionable.

Just kidding, but it's really interesting to get tons of self-made Newbies due to the latest upgrade of the forum's rank requirements which requires at least one merit to be a Junior Member.
Do you have a tool for this to check on how many jr.members was being demoted to newbie rank?

I bet those days were lucky days for some members here that has got default merit since they had complied already the activity that was being required to rank up  not until the implementation of the merit system which other members could hardly rank up then. Though there are people that has made their account to rank up but I bet these members are an extraordinary or genius when it comes to technicalities of this forum and could be able to produce high quality post from the technical aspects of this forum more likely IT experts and computer programming genius just one post for that aspect they could gather more or less 10 merits per post. So we could expect that achieving full member rank would only be a 10 post for them. And in the likes of us newbie? Well, no comment. LOL
20  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism is on the rise - be vigilant. on: September 26, 2018, 10:13:51 AM
I support this move to be vigilant. Stealing and passing of ideas or words of another and own it is a serious offense by the one who committed it. There are many members here that unaware about plagiarism and the main reason for this is because one does not do their assignment on reading the rules and regulations provided here in the forum.

Banning of BCT account is the retribution of such acts. Plagiarism is a grave offense and punishable by law so we must think the same way also here in the BCT forum and apply grave punishment.

In this matter I suggest to add a sticky thread notes on every sub forum that will highlight plagiarism so that everybody will be aware on the consequences by doing so.
