Voted for this, 504 Dancing Banana Coin, and I don't even know what this coin is.
I tried searching in the https://coinmarketcap.com/ but I have not found any, it must be a mistake or something?

All other coins that are listed in the poll are good coins IMO.

Coin #29 [ANN] -----> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2057229.msg20605753#msg20605753

OT - This is more a question of philosophy, not a follow-up to discussion in original post

If a thread for Basic Attention Token gets no attention, not even a token response, could you say forum is bASIC-resistant?

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Basic Attention Token (BAT) & Brave Browser on: February 25, 2019, 08:08:44 PM
I'll take the complete lack of response to thread as a positive and enter the box with my BAT buy order.  Thanks? Smiley
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins to invest in for a beginner on: February 25, 2019, 09:40:04 AM
When it involves real money the only person I feel comfortable giving advice to is myself.

That being said, I think from a beginner's perspective definitely check out Brave browser for free download here ----> https://brave.com , 1st, Internet browser is something everyone knows, it's a technology beginners can take a test drive, kick the wheels and feel comfortable doing so, 2nd the Brave browser comes with many privacy & security features baked in, security plays hand in hand with crypto and many of these features are enabled by default to help protect and secure a beginner from some less desirable aspects of modern Internet, 3rd after install Brave browser transfers a free grant of 40 BAT (Basic Attention Coin) into the browsers built-in wallet, grant tokens can be tipped however the user desires as reward for content providers participating in program, for a beginner you get technology you know, introduction to tokens & wallets, a small stash of real cryptocurrency and the opportunity to use and experience cryptocurrency in a live environment all at no cost.  I would say only cost is time, but Brave browser will speed up Internet times vs competing browsers & tracks this time-saved feature for users on its landing page.

For me, this is how I'd do it as a beginner, baby steps.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Basic Attention Token (BAT) & Brave Browser on: February 25, 2019, 08:13:32 AM
Throughout 2018 I liquidated most of my ALT holdings into BTC, present portfolio mix sits around 90% BTC, 10% ALT.  Recently started researching options to increase my ALT exposure by another 15-20% and after a few days i found myself depressed that despite the fact ALT investment options continue to proliferate on a daily basis, now numbering  into the thousands, I did not find a single ALT that had enough meat on the bone where I felt comfortable reducing my BTC position to take position in an ALT. Not one ALT I researched where perceived risk/reward was such I could say in honesty reducing BTC investment by any percentage for (insert name here) ALT made sound financial sense. Fact, having been in ALTs since 2014, most of what I see now in 2019 (same as 2014) has me thinking putting my money into a pile and burning it would be the better investment, at least then I wouldn't need to suffer over an extended period of time waiting for inevitable (insert name here) ALT implosion, collapse & death spiral to 0.

But yesterday happens and through discovering and installing Brave browser I come across BAT (Basic Attention Token). BAT checks all the boxes for me and if they continue to execute with high success on their business model potential positive returns in BAT seem exponential comparing against the other ALTS I've considered. I look at BAT & see through its integration with Brave the potential one day to stand toe to toe with a Google, Facebook, Youtube, et al. and not just stand, but win. I'm thinking I've found my next new ALT.  But I have a problem in the duration & depth of my knowledge regarding BAT is super thin, I've known of but nothing about BAT or Brave until taking a deep dive into all things BAT these past 24 hrs., so pls if you got dirt on BAT help me out, gimme the goods, tell me what I missed, why it's pure guano, give good reasons I should let BAT fall off my investment radar. Not looking for opinions on other ALTs to invest, only opinions on why it should not be BAT.

Side note - BAT investment yea or nay, I have found a new default browser for all my devices in Brave, if this is your first time hearing of it do yourself a favor and check it out for free download here ----> https://brave.com

edit/ Links Added:

Lon Wong interview
dev tweets
NEM with Tony youtube video
...and some sources I can't share, but If you read my past posts, you should be able to tell I was hinting towards this.

The Lon Wong interview should be the most compelling for investors. It hasn't spread much yet, though, and is hard to even find on google. In fact, it's not on the official NEM news site or twitter.
Price of XEM is sure to rebound once people start hearing about this. I'm trying to give you all the heads up so you can get in while it's cheap. - Then tip me when you make a buck. Wink I'm 1.1k XEM away from my goal of 10k.

/edit

I can edit this and add URLs later.
Anyone else feel free to verify what I shared.

1. Lon Wong's a lying sack of shit only concerned with inflating his own bottom line & ego, if that's your most compelling evidence of an imminent Catapult release then you have nothing.

2. The Dev tweet you linked to implies that work on implementing the public chain release of Catapult has only started and to expect a difficult road ahead.  In other words, Catapult release on the public chain isn't anywhere close to a general release, end of 2018 maybe, maybe 2019, hell maybe never with Lon at the helm.

3. NEM with Tony can only report the information that's available to him, unfortunately too much of the information is kept behind closed doors by the NEM Foundation or filtered out through lying sacks of shit like Lon who are much more likely to release disinformation or no information vs transparency, providing facts & open honest public discourse on current state and issues affecting NEM platform.

4. Sources you can't share = you have nothing

I got this great news from BitTrex yesterday:

"Maintenance is complete for NEM/XEM. Thank you for your patience."

I have not logged on yet to verify, but expect to later today.

I've logged in my account and can confirm Bittrex XEM wallet is online for both deposits & withdrawals.  Good news there and now XEM trading volume on Bittrex has spiked considerably, #2 behind #1 Upbit.

What time today they will implement NEM in WeChat? Does somebody knows this information? Thank you.

Weider, NEM wallet implementation in WeChat is live now and they have integrated a XEM air drop to reward early adopters, full details on air drop & WeChat/NEM wallet install instructions here ->  https://twitter.com/Inside_NEM/status/943721176144150528

After installing NEM WeChat wallet, in drop-down menu, you can change default language from Chinese to English.

I’m worried about the indexing to BTC which is now under pressure due to bitcoin cash.

We really need to become a fiat pair to develop some independence.

The JPY and KRW trading pairs are holding strong for now but we could really use a dollar or euro trading pair soon.

Yeah we need a more western focus. Alts are just starting to hit the western news media-and NEM is never mentioned despite being top 10. That’s worrisome. NEM team if you’re watching...get someone to raise awareness with Bloomberg or the WSJ.

Don't know if it's been posted on thread but here is recent "western news media" with a big NEM mention, NEM account tweet of link to story, Yahoo Finance/Motley Fool (Dec 18) -> https://twitter.com/NEM_UAE/status/943330142696497153

Awfully grumpy-why?

They're asking for nearly 10% of all NEM community funds. That's more than a little excessive for a finite resource that will never return intended to benefit the project as a whole. Even if they'd stated it would be paid back, which they haven't, that's asking that fund to take an outrageous risk on something that sounds like every other bit of tech dreaming out there.

They've also glued the magic word ICO and airdrop in there too.

They may all be wonderful people but it's not even a no strings loan, it's flat out zero risk free money gifted to them, albeit conditionally and staged.

0.5-1% of the fund makes it an acceptable bet. Not this type of proportion.
That sounds like very fair criticism. The details are very scant, so it might just be a buzzword-filled project as opposed to something that adds real value to the ecosystem. Who has the power/ability to approve the use of community funds? Perhaps it makes sense to open a dialogue.

NEM community is doing a good job giving them what's what over on the official NEM forum https://forum.nem.io/t/micai-the-world-s-first-ai-based-private-wealth-management-protocol-built-on-the-nem-blockchain/10698, I consider the project blessed we have so many intelligent participants that ask the hard questions, poke the pig.

Of issue for me, I like Lon and he seems to have brought a lot of needed organization and leadership to NEM early on when no one knew NEM from the nxt guy, but damn he's now put his rubber stamp of approval as "Special Adviser" on pretty much every NEM-centric ICO that's come out the chute.  Lon, you made it, you're there, too much too fast can ruin a man quick, slow your roll and be a bit more selective on the projects you endorse in role of NEM Foundation President.
