1  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Pay Could ‘Destroy the Financial System’ on: August 20, 2020, 06:21:14 AM
I don't think so. The financial system has people behind them, and such people have a lot of power on dictating, manipulating things. Manipulating the average person. Crypto could be 1000x better, but that won't do it any good.
2  Economy / Economics / Re: In the pandemic economy, tech companies are raking it in on: August 06, 2020, 11:15:54 PM
It's not surprising. When there's a major change in an environment, some benefit while others lose. In this case the pandemic caused more people to be home, playing video games, using the internet which greatly benefit those companies.
3  Economy / Economics / Re: What if crypto vanishes? on: January 23, 2020, 07:20:40 AM
Then it would be an opportunity to create the next Bitcoin, but a lot of people will be afraid to invest due to the fear of it disappearing again, for absolutely no reason.
4  Other / Off-topic / Re: Group therapy - How did you lose your entire stash of bitcoin? on: January 14, 2020, 11:30:07 PM
I lost the majority of bitcoin by putting it in shitcoins, and not taking profits.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Don't spend bitcoin. Not now. on: January 03, 2020, 01:17:38 AM
This sounds like something that should had been written in 2010.

Can't put it any better. I first started investing in Bitcoin 6 years back. I guess I was a bit late and when I purchased my coins, the exchange rate was around $600 per coin. So right now I'm on top of unrealized profits of ~1,200%. This is a lot more than what I could expect from investments in stocks or real estate. But those who made their investments two years earlier than I did are now in 500x to 1,000x profit. But I don't want to get too greedy. Now I am planning to sell some 20% to 30% of my coins in the next 12 months.

You didn't sell any when it was around $20,000. I know of a guy who bought at around 10 cents, but sold it like at 30 cents.

If you don't have a job then how will they get money to be rich?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | Nxt | Blockchain Platform | Proof of Stake | Official on: July 11, 2019, 11:08:32 PM
I installed the NXT client, I keep getting and error that says "Connecting to the Network. Please try again later."

and

"Cannot connet to /nxt-proxy No openAPI peer found."

Just want to say that the fix was simply letting it run for a bit. Eventually it connects to a user, when using the lite client.

I had the same problem, too, and I'd already given up. You mean you just have to wait for it to connect?
Yes. From what I gather what you downloaded is the lite wallet, where you don't download the whole blockchain, but instead connect to a volunteer or something who does have the whole blockchain. You just have to let the system connect. Something to that effect. It's pretty cool.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there an official site about airdrops? | Also I'd be glad to hear some tips on: June 02, 2019, 08:46:19 PM
My first air drop was Nem. Which went up to be valued at millions of dollars per stake. Unfortunately I didn't get nearly that much.

This was many years ago, with Crypto still not being as popular. Now things are a bit different.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you feel like quitting? on: July 30, 2018, 11:29:05 PM
I quit before, 2014, and it turned out to be the biggest mistake of my life. Things could have been much different for me at the moment, but I ran into a scam. For now I just have to hope that I'm not too late. Just simply by being here I would had benefited greatly.
If you have not quit, you have already rich by now  Smiley. Learn from your mistake in the past and make sure that you will not repeat your mistake again.

If you only knew. Based on the coins that I was planning on investing by in, with tens of thousands of dollars, my last calculation showed me that I would've made probably over 60 million dollars. Yes it sounds like I'm exaggerating, but such was the growth of the crypto market. Extreme rage in me.  Cry

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite way to cash out? on: July 24, 2018, 08:02:14 PM
If we’re talking about favorite, rather than the most common way, then I would have to say that it’s finding someone who wants to get cryptos and doing it directly with them. This way no 3rd party business is involved at all.

Of course this is extremely rare.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sirius A New Smart Chain Freely Distributed on: July 17, 2018, 04:42:19 AM
They are still active on slack/telegram and the dev's are not the only Who are buying,  proces are very good at the moment to buy some more SIRX

Do they ever mention why they never go to the ANN thread? I might have to go to the slack.

I hope it's not a matter of being like defiant.

There is not much going on in slack, I know some people are saying slack is very active but that's not really true either.

What about code development? How active is the github? They seemed to be working hard back in December. And the dev really seemed to be into coding.

They just waiting for the market to go up. Then, with another hype wave, they will emerge, give some fantastic promises and announcements, pump the price as high as they can get, then dump all the coins they still have.

But see, my thinking against that would be, then why bother acting the way they are acting if they just want to dump them. If the devs were scammers instead of silence they would have been here chatting away daily to give investors and participants more optimism for the coin, with the price slowly rising. Don't you think?

My wallet got corrupted after using coin control feature for sending 0.001 to address mentioned in rules in discord.   I tried repairwallet without success, but importing private key to a new wallet worked. I missed airdrop #5, cannot miss #6.

I thought this was going to be a case where the wallet got corrupted but you didn't have any back up. Good thing you did.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sirius A New Smart Chain Freely Distributed on: July 06, 2018, 03:22:35 AM
I think sirius project will recover, markets are gaining momentum recently so we'll get high returns if sirius team will continue to do their homeworks which i have no doubt.

They just really need to be more active here and in that way the community wouldn't be complaining as much as to the lack of news.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: Is wallet security important to use? on: July 04, 2018, 03:00:33 AM
What I do is put it into a 7-zip with password, and save it in multiple different places, including the cloud. And not have it my daily computer.
