Whilst it hasn't been official decided yet, I believe a figure 2million UPX has been discussed..

Correct, JCE wrote (on BTC I believe) that UPX made the most sense from a CPU efficiency standpoint. And wow guys! I've woken up to a 40%+ price increase. Exciting times! ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Hi guys! This is all very exciting. I've heard a couple of people talking about possibly looking at masternodes in the future.
Is this something that's being considered by the core team?

Submitted my entry this morning! Does it make any difference if I only mine on my laptop (compared to someone mining with a rig)? Will I have the same chance to win?
Hi - No, it makes no difference. Good luck! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

(I think this is allowed here - I read the rules and this requires no replies/input from people on this site)https://twitter.com/uplexamining/status/1111255121919393794uPlexaMining.com are having a 1,000,000 UPX (uPlexa) giveaway, starting this coming Monday (1st) until Friday 7th April. All you have to do, is mine for at least 24 hours, and then fill in the form below to enter. On Monday 8th April, 5 people will be selected at random, each recieving 200,000 UPX https://www.uplexamining.com/miningweek/

is uPlexa compatible with all browsers?
When you say 'uPlexa', are you referring to the website?? In which case, yes, we've all tried it on multiple platforms and any small fixes will be implemented immediately. If you mean something else, please let me know! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I think he means how does one mine with a browser. The thread title "browser based" implies browser mining. What is the meaning of "browser based" here? Ah, gothca! Yeah, the dev's answered a similar question earlier; "In terms of browser based anonymous blockchain, we're able to show the world that everything from transactions to mining can be done without the need to download anything." So you can mine/add a web miner via services like https://crypto-loot.com (who support uPlexa), but you can also mine using your mobile phone, or traditional CPU's GPU's; https://www.uplexa.com/ (miners section near the top). We also have a community-made hardware benchmark page, to help you determine how much you can earn/mine; https://www.uplexamining.com/hw-benchmarks/Hope this helps! It might be that the dev's change the title of this thread at some point (if that's even possible on here) ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

It's a very honest coin, with full-time developers and a really strong community. I'd be surprised if there was any altcoin with this level of development right now. Come along, have a chat with us all. See what you think ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

The coin he mentions is brand new, and probably at the lowest price it ever will be. In fact, based on today's price increase that same rig will make $22 per day. I think my point here is with a new coin like uPlexa, assuming the project looks good and the dev's are active, it's worth mining a load of them at any price in the early days! But yes, for continuous profit with an established coin, you are correct, only very large rigs and ASICS will make real money. For me though, mine the new coins! Most of them will be crap, but you only need one to be successful! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) You say that but I could turn it around and write "The coin he mentions is brand new, and probably at the highest price it ever will be." ...and in many cases, history will say that I probably wouldn't be wrong. IMHO CPU coins are profitable if you have an network of computers, an array of servers or a botnet. Using spare cycles of CPUs for mining would be an awesome thing for big firms to make extra $ on. On a mining@home scale, there's just no point. Good points, but agree to disagree (to an extent). I made £500 in 2 weeks last year, mining a 'new' coin. I couldn't make a £1 in a week now, mining the same coin. If you're a little miner, you have to get in there immediately. Keep abreast of upcoming projects, be part of the wider discord communities etc. Hey, it's a lot of work! And I hear you re new coin prices, but as I mentioned, that particular coin is 27% up today.....so it's already higher than it was ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Good talk! Nice to hear some valid arguments, rather than dick-swinging, for once ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Is anyone actually able to make any money on these CPU-only coins or are you guys all in for the sport? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Last I got involved in a CPU coin (Nerva), I only ever hit two blocks with a 5960x after days of mining... and they were worth next to nothing. it is fair question. Good representasion here; https://www.uplexamining.com/hw-benchmarks/uPlexa price very low right now, but just cmc listed, so hopefully will rise when more interest. I have around 80kh/s and am making around $12 per day (minus electrisity) Some or more harder. coins like haven are impossible for small miner now. Sorry for bad words, english not my mother language ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) 80 kh/s ... to achieve such hashrate you must have for example 20 (twenty!) ryzens 7 1700x. I dont see an average person mining on twenty ryzen computers. I tried many coins mining - from cpu to gpus - and all I can say it not prfitable at all. Even if you dont pay for electricity its not worth that. You must invest thousands of $$$ in hardware to get any money from mining ..but the the return of your investment is very doubtful. Its much easier just buying some coins you belive can skyrocket and wait - you spend less money than buying gpus or powerful cpus you dont really need. The only thing that makes mining profitable is stealing few ASIC machines and electricity ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Having one computer with even powerful cpu or gpu is not worth the pennies you can earn (remeber that banging it on 100% cpu/gpu usage can broke it). The coin he mentions is brand new, and probably at the lowest price it ever will be. In fact, based on today's price increase that same rig will make $22 per day. 235H/s on my S7 ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Been running my P20 Pro for nearly a week (every night) now, so far so good! Can see great jump in volume and interest since CMC listing. Are there any plans for more exchanges? Nice! How many coins has your S7 mined? I don't think a new exchange is immediately coming, but it will come eventually. There are more pressing tasks being performed right now (lots of cool stuff on its way!).

Is this supposed to be an anonymous blockchain powered by IoT or is it the other way around and it is IoT powered by a blockchain?
It's an anonymous blockchain that has an IoT viable algorithm (allowing for the release of things like today's miner) IoT viable algorithm, I have to think about and study that term as I can't come up easily with the opposite. Which algorithm for example is not viable for IoT? It's viability mainly comes from the ASIC-resistant nature of the project, and the steps the team have taken to ensure small miners stay relevant. For example, the uPlexa team already have an emergency fork ready, should anyone develop a compatible ASIC - one which they can deploy in hours, rather than months. On top of that (and I'm not a developer, so they may chime in here), I believe the algo used is 'kinder' on low powered devices (half iterations from the original Cryptonight iirc). The main note from the project thus far, is that we're actually seeing delivery of these promises, and when we're surrounded by projects that simply don't deliver, I think that has to be a reason to show an interest ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Is it always possible to detect active ASIC miners? If I was an ASIC developer, I would slowly deploy machines over time so that it is not easily detected. Yes, but that hasn't been the case with any other coin. Look at Monero recently. These people want a sharp ROI. The point here is that the next hardfork is ready to go, immediately. There's no 6 month etc period where ASIC's can exploit the network. Perfection in this scenario is impossible, but this greatly reduces their influence. Yes, given your scenario, a single ASIC dev could avoid detection for a period of time. I don't want to get too bogged down with just this, either. This is just one feature of this project. The dev team have 2 straight weeks of product releases coming soon (they're literally releasing something new every day for two weeks). Not sure if that's ever been done before, but it's pretty rapid development and desire, and I'm pretty excited about it! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

It is perfectly. Not planning to add a market maker to trade? Or additional exchanges? Your project seems to me in need of this. Yeah, they've definitely mentioned more exchanges in the pipeline, but I know in the immediate future they're concentrating on the MPS and sticking to the original roadmap (there's some pretty exciting products coming out soon). But in parallel I am certain will we see more listings in the near future!

Well done, guys! I can see it's had an immediate impact on price and hash rate....let the fun begin! Any idea when the m.cap will show up? I can see that none of the new coins have it, so it must be pretty standard. Yeah, it'll update within a week. I know they're documentation states that they sometimes require 3 exchanges, but I've seen this with pretty much every new listing.
