1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sirius A New Smart Chain Freely Distributed on: August 02, 2018, 10:58:58 PM

Developer update:

regarding RWPoS, it's reputation-weighted proof-of-stake, which will increase transaction speed (tps) to visa levels, without the implied centralization or risk of political influence due to voting in delegate based blockchains ex:EOS/Tezos, or other masternode-like systems. RWPoS will be the defining Algorithm change that will mark the beginning of our separation from Qtum, Sirius will present its own case of running a decentralized anonymous delegate like system based on reputation which in turn is gained by multiple factors.

White paper release for the algo change within a month (simulation is almost done) with code implementation to follow right after.

We will hold an AMA to discuss the proposed changes with interested parties, and to subject the whitepaper to scrutiny from supporters and non supporters alike.

A new round of free distribution is in the works to go along with our marketing efforts ( Starts August 15)

Our next update will be more comprehensive and detailed.

The dev team appreciates the community and love to see the excitement all around us. But we have a small favor to ask.

Please refrain from copy/pasting slack messages to bitcointalk and vice versa, our official announcement channel on slack is the only official channel.

You can relay a message with your own words, but do not copy any of the devs names, this is to prevent any future fud or misrepresentations.

as most of you know, there are a few things to report on, an exchange listing coming up, a brand new advanced explorer for Sirx with new advanced features, core code updates and exciting announcements after exchange listing. We are delaying core updates till after exchange listing on purpose to prevent any unintended bugs from stopping you moving your Sirx, we have no forking changes but we are taking the extra caution route. Thank you for your patience.

Quick Update:

the Devs have not left bitcointalk forum, we were super busy getting some essential legal work done.

The foundation is now registered. (more details will be posted on our website soon)
We are submitting forms to exchanges as of now.
We will start updating core code on github as soon as we are done with exchange listings.

Thanks to the devs especially Demartini and Mischa for doing most of the work on the legal issues that faced us,
they did a wonderful job. We like to also thank the law firms, companies, and people in Mauritius for the assistance.

Staking should improve for people with lower stake when exchanges are available and some of the sirx is moved to exchanges. Remember all the Sirx distributed now are staking. Staking does not stop or stop working due to more Sirx being staked. If you have small inputs it makes sense to combine your stake inputs into one to enhance your chance at staking a block.

Please join us on slack and ask your questions, I know the importance of bitcointalk in communications but we have other social outlets which are bridged together so one question answered on slack, can reach our community on telegram/discord at the same time.

our position/whitepaper is light enough to be fully understood by anyone even those who are new to crypto, that is one of our main targets at Sirius, reaching out to everyone and getting what some consider complex coding and programming in the hands of those who need it.

This is the technical whitepaper of VEE : https://vee.tech/kmgViewResource/VEE-white-paper-excelsia-preview.pdf
released recently by Sunny King.

"The Company will generate a total of 5,142,85 000 VEE coins, 35% of which will be provided during the private placement period, with the value equals to the value of eighteen thousand Bitcoins (BTC18,000). The total 35% of private placement VEE. The VEE Blockchain Platform will guarantee that the total supply of VEE coin will not exceed 7.599 Billion."

This is not a criticism of VEE, on the contrary, we are huge supporters of Sunny King and the VEE project and consider his contributions to the blockchain tech unparalleled after Satoshi himself. But what we wanted to point out is the fact that most projects know a long term funding plan must exist, whether you like it or not, if you are a short term interest, you are blinded by short term influences.

As for our communications, we maintain a presence on slack/discord/telegram and we answer any questions that come up. It's true we take time to do things other than answering questions, but those things have priority and must be done. Not any day goes by that one of the devs is not on slack/discord/telegram.

We are in the process of finalizing our Sirius foundation registration, when that is done we will post that information on our website. This week also we created a new language translation for our website, published our position/whitepaper, we have teams working on our mobile clients and a new detailed block explorer. Some of our team members are working with exchanges.

We will make important announcements to the community when we have something to announce, that will not be everyday. Some of the information posted here by anyone not on the dev team might not be 100% accurate. For accurate information please read our announcements on slack/discord/telegram

@dev is there a windows-x32 version on client, i cant install window-x64 version. thanks

There will be no win32 wallet version. But we have IOS/Android wallets in the works and will be followed by a lightwallet that might work on win32.
The current release only supports 64 bit OS
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sirius A New Smart Chain Freely Distributed on: February 16, 2018, 04:31:39 PM
hmm, somebody tell me why I received such a reward? why this is a 5 coin, instead of the usual 2,5  Huh

Could be because you minted this block and the one 500 blocks ago. Since you share the reward with whoever minted the one 500 blocks ago, you would collect both rewards at the same time (plus another 2.5 in 500 blocks of course).

That's correct, occasionally you stake a block exactly 500 blocks later and you receive both rewards of 2.5 Sirx at the same time. This is how MPOS is designed to work, it's not an error.

I get total & circulating supply. But can anyone tell me what will be maximum possible supply ever ??

I have asked this question a couple of days ago but no one has answered.

POS chains do not have an actual maximum supply.
The actual inflation is close to 0.87% a year.
in the past 60 days we have an inflation of 97665 Sirx
if you are interested in a multi year inflation figures we can have one of the team members do that.

Second Stage Free Distribution will start in March

This month we will post bounties/ whitepaper / roadmap

There are still a few people left from first stage that we need to take care of.

This month we will also work on securing exchange listings and try to put that behind us,

as we move on to work on updating the code and implementing a major part of our roadmap.

We are also working on forming a foundation to be the legal representative for the project.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sirius A New Smart Chain Freely Distributed on: February 02, 2018, 05:32:19 PM
The staking confuses me, though to be far I don't have much experience with staking coins in general.  I've been running my wallet for about 12hrs a day when I'm online, the same 12 hrs each day, the first week I was getting coins every other day without fail and now for the past week I haven't received any.  It just says expected time to reward 2 days or 3 days or 1 day.  I'm assuming I'm just missing the time when they're being distributed?  So the staking rewards happen at random times and you have to leave it on 24/7?

Someone correct me if this is wrong, but Sirius doesn't 'charge' your coins, i.e. your staking weight doesn't increase the longer you are staking unsuccessfully. This is why it is more of a lottery to stake. The expected time to stake is often not helpful as the network weight also changes when other nodes go offline. Staking 24/7 is therefore the preferred method with this coin. Also, the staking rewards seem to be split in half and you need to keep staking aprox 2 days to secure them.

You do not need to be staking to receive your second installment of the stake. Once you stake a block you get 2.5 Sirx the other 2.5 Sirx are awarded to you 500 blocks later whether you are staking or not.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sirius A New Smart Chain Freely Distributed on: February 01, 2018, 03:49:52 PM

We have some delays in distribution due to the large number of submissions we received. Please give us time to process all the submissions.
We will announce when all First stage distributions are done and if by then you do not get one, you can PM me about it.
Thank you

The new merit system on bitcointalk:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0

We are looking into this with interest, to see if it can be utilized in our next distribution.

As a new member, can not this project participate? I really hope to know more about this.
When will the second stage airdrop commence?
I wonder why so much attention to this project? because someone gave, and to whom it was not given? In fact, the project just fork Quantum, the developers themselves said this, and no special upgrades are not present. So you rush about around this nowhere? like other airdrop no - I don't have time to fill out the questionnaire. and one more problem that this is russian project.

i do not think that there is anything wrong with a russian project , also it is good to me that the dev's off this project are not newbie because that will reduce the change on scams with 70 % , and why shouldn't we use a fork off Quantum , i think this is a solid project

Although there is nothing wrong with Russian, none of the devs is Russian, and regardless of the senseless comment, we might welcome a Russian developer at one point to our extended team, as we rate developers by their ability not by their nationality. Please refrain from feeding the trolls if they bring out racist comments.

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sirius A New Smart Chain Freely Distributed on: January 17, 2018, 09:25:36 PM
Another question regarding the staking system, it looks like there is no increase in staking weight over time. Is this working as intended?

your staking weight depends on the amount of Sirx staking in your wallet.
network staking weight depends on the total staking Sirx in all the staking wallets.

The first one might not change much, unless your staking balance changes.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sirius A New Smart Chain Freely Distributed on: January 15, 2018, 07:18:28 PM
Good Lord, shitbag Stool Man is still scamming people in 2018?
This world is truly full of shit, man. I'm feeling really bad for anyone still dealing with anything that touched hand of this infamous scammer.

Wow you signed up an account on bitcointalk to say this!

I wonder why you are the one hiding behind a noob account and not me!

Anyhow feel free to add a few pages of trolling, I am sure your reputation on this forum will demoralize us.
