1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: April 23, 2019, 12:20:27 PM
Hello,

I'm trying to withdraw BTC. Everything works fine, except I'm not getting the email. I tried the send again button to no avail. My email account is fine, I have no spam filter. Last email I got from cryptopia was the 19th of March.

Anyone else with a similar issue ?

What email provider do you use?

Yes, it's totally the same Ben, returning clients money versus aplying a haircut to ETH(100%), BTC(15%) and LTC(35%).

They haven't said they will return clients "money", they haven't said they will return ANYTHING yet specifically. So again your example fails.

That is a good point though, the ONLY thing Cryptopia didn't do that DragonEx did is say
Quote
"DragonEx will take the responsibility no matter what."

This early they can't guarantee that, Dragonex says it will take responsibility no matter what - which is a silly thing to do because liability may be elsewhere.

You have a good point that DragonEx can't guarantee anything at that point, unless they already know the exact extend of the damage.
However in such cases, the liability is surely not upon one's customers! Unless an exchange is sharing their earnings with their customers, they can't share just their damages.

All they have stated so far is
Quote
"the accurate assets loss recovery situation will be announced in a week."

They haven't stated they will return specific coins affected as Four3220 said, let alone what their recovery plan is.

Just a pathetic attempt to compare how two exchanges have handled the event as though one handled it better than the other, which ironically shows they're doing almost exactly what Cryptopia did step by step... suggesting Cryptopia did the right thing, based on Four3220 praise of DragonEx.

Not that Four3220 makes it hard to point out his obvious trolling, because no one can be that stupid surely.

WAT?

This is a sign of hopelessness the inability to even respond with coherent lies.

Where did the money go = We couldn't enter building.

Totally the same, Ben.

They take responsibility = They haven't said they will return clients "money"

Totally the same, Ben.

Whats inside a building... systems, hardware, data... access... I know you are trolling at this point because no one is this stupid, not even on here.

Anyway, Enjoy your ignore. You aren't worth replying to anymore, can't reason with an idiot.

P.s keep replying though, nothing makes me happier than seeing the ignored people keep replying knowing you went to all the effort of writing some stupid message out and I didn't read it Smiley

Totally the same, Ben.
Totally the same, Ben.  yep yep.

here's the point (which you went great to lengths to deflect and avoid mentioning)

"the stolen assets from DragonEx were transferred to the following address"

Transparency vs. Skunks

Cryptopia isn't accepting Deposits... so why would the hacker send anything to Cryptopia and the known ETH/ERC20 addresses were posted within the Cryptopia discord immediately following the breach.
Staff weren't able to enter the building or work at that time, so how could Cryptopia immediately following the event release anything you've suggested they should have officially?

Again, you're trolling right because no one is this dense...

First maintenance response

DragonEx
Quote
DragonEx first took its platform offline saying it was upgrading its systems.
Cryptopia
Quote
We are currently experiencing an unscheduled maintenance, we are working to resume services as soon as possible. We will keep you updated.
Quote

Same thing Cryptopia said

Second maintenance response

DragonEx
Quote
Later the same day, it announced that it was “still working on system maintenance"
Cryptopia
Quote
Update: We are still experiencing unscheduled maintenance. The next update will be at 8am NZDT (7pm UTC)
Quote

Again, same thing Cryptopia said

Breach response

DragonEx
Quote
Before finally disclosing that it had been hacked yesterday.
Cryptopia
Quote
On the 14th of January the Cryptopia Exchange suffered a security breach.
Quote

Oh look, a pattern

Informing appropriate Agencies

DragonEx
Quote
The exchange further said that it has informed several judicial administrations, including Estonia, Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong about the attack.
Cryptopia
Quote
Staff then notified and involved the appropriate Government agencies, including NZ police and High tech crimes unit
Quote

This is getting weird...

Cooperating Fully

DragonEx
Quote
We’re assisting policemen to do investigation.
Cryptopia
Quote
We would also like to make clear that Cryptopia are cooperating fully with the investigation team.
Quote

Strange, just like Cryptopia...

Maintenance/Trading suspended

DragonEx
Quote
All platform services will be closed
Cryptopia
Quote
The Cryptopia Exchange will remain in maintenance mode, with trading suspended.
Quote

At this point, I honestly can't tell if four3200 is trolling or just oblivious to how they are handling it exactly as Cryptopia did... He has to be trolling surely...

A Monday.

Thursday and Friday have passed + Weekends and they can only come up with a stupid Don't Deposit to old address Update  Undecided

Cmon Cryptopia, When can we withdraw our money from your system.

Currently in regards to withdrawals, we are hoping to achieve this by the end of the month.

key words being "We are hoping to achieve this by".

Hi BenTheAnonMod

If Cryptopia states that 47% LTC and 14% BTC were stolen. Can you post hacker's transactions ids here or on the website. It will allow people track those monies, and if they hit some btc/ltc accepting services people can freeze hackers funds and contact local law enforcement agencies or NZ police.

Hi mate,

Appreciate your well thought out, lack of name calling comment.

Unfortunately and I hope you can understand, the investigation is still ongoing and I would imagine Cryptopia would not want to release anything that they have either been told they can't or that could potentially damage the investigation.

That is not to say they won't in the future, I would just simply assume if they could have without issue they would have or will eventually.

Again I appreciate your response, it was a nice change from the usual on here.

Honestly, the only place spreading mainly negative responses to Cryptopia is here... I wonder why...

I wonder why you cryptopia pricks are expecting your balls to be fondled after you lost/stole peoples money..hmmm  Roll Eyes

Not expecting anything, just calling out a noticeable agenda on this forum. All you do is resort to name calling, slander and non sense... its getting old.

Your so called hack is what's getting old. WHERE IS THE GODDAMN MONEY!?

What money, you mean your Crypto? you see how it is hard to respond to someone who comments like you do, you provided no context, no information just overly emotional non sense.

Are you asking when Withdrawal will be possible?

Get a brain idiot. You know you don't have answers to whatever it means, just like no questions were answered lately hehe

Again you prove my point, just going to do myself a favour and put you on ignore now. Pretty sure at this point you have nothing to say of value.

"intentionally slow" or "criminally slow"
When do withdraw functions come, after you complete the "% secured" phase?
ETA ... April 2022?

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/CoinInfo/?coin=APX
How many coins came online in the last 3 days?
1, 2, or NONE?

If you could do it faster, should send in a job application form.

80 guys on this right ?

Doing stuff that could have been done since day one after the hack .. Wut no Snapshots of Cold wallets ? no access to blockchains ? a lot of the bigger cold wallets are known to the public they could have started checking up on those without access to the building.
220 million in customer funds held  and u dont have any of that ?
lets just wait a couple of months before doing anything.

Lets be honest and call a spade a spade they totally shit the bed on this and the handling has been subpar to say the least.

You folks really need to learn how to finish your comments with "in my opinion.", because that is all they are.

This is not an opinion ben, you cryptopia pricks are not telling how much really is lost  Wink

I've noticed you seem to resort to name calling because you can't make a valid point. It's kind of childish...

Quote
"you cryptopia pricks are not telling how much really is lost"

You literally just proved my point by stating YOUR opinion... Let alone how they can "tell how much is really lost" until they have secured all the wallets... Again, are you slow?

They should start posting the final audit of their losses to ease all the doubt of all cryptopia members. So they can justify the haircut given to their members.

They are doing that right now, but they are extremely slow at it.

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/CoinInfo/

If the coin is already audited, it says "In Maintenance". IF you click on info icon, it shows what happened to that coin, for example with LTC it shows

"Currency 57% secured, 43% haircut processed, Withdrawal and Deposits offline until new hot wallets are ready"

If the coin is "Offline", the coin has not been audited yet and we can expect additional haircuts.

Harsh on the "extremely slow at it" but otherwise correct.

I'm here as a user, interacting with other users and dispelling the FUD.

It has already been mentioned that Cryptopia does not monitor or respond here in official capacity.
