Yes, it's totally the same Ben, returning clients money versus aplying a haircut to ETH(100%), BTC(15%) and LTC(35%).

They haven't said they will return clients "money", they haven't said they will return ANYTHING yet specifically. So again your example fails.

That is a good point though, the ONLY thing Cryptopia didn't do that DragonEx did is say
Quote
"DragonEx will take the responsibility no matter what."

This early they can't guarantee that, Dragonex says it will take responsibility no matter what - which is a silly thing to do because liability may be elsewhere.

You have a good point that DragonEx can't guarantee anything at that point, unless they already know the exact extend of the damage.
However in such cases, the liability is surely not upon one's customers! Unless an exchange is sharing their earnings with their customers, they can't share just their damages.

All they have stated so far is
Quote
"the accurate assets loss recovery situation will be announced in a week."

They haven't stated they will return specific coins affected as Four3220 said, let alone what their recovery plan is.

Just a pathetic attempt to compare how two exchanges have handled the event as though one handled it better than the other, which ironically shows they're doing almost exactly what Cryptopia did step by step... suggesting Cryptopia did the right thing, based on Four3220 praise of DragonEx.

Not that Four3220 makes it hard to point out his obvious trolling, because no one can be that stupid surely.

Pretty sure I have already stated they
Quote
"are hoping to achieve this by the end of the month."

Key words being
Quote
"hoping to achieve this by"

However I'm sure there will be comments like "BUT YOU SAID THE END OF THE MONTH!?!" if there are any delays.

as per https://support.cryptopia.co.nz/csm?id=kb_article&sys_id=48613b3cdb50338032a664a14a9619ba

If cryptopia is HOPING to open the website in the end of the month what makes us cryptopia users? Hoping the hopers?

So next week what are they hoping for? since its April already.

Can they just open BTC withdrawal as a sign of good faith for their customers to see if they are really serious in bring the site to its full operation.

If they make this coin-thingy they airdroped in place of the lost coins work good, like sharing part of their earnings with the holders, then I might even consider buying some while people panic sell!
It will be interesting to watch. Grin

Today is the last business days of march and since cryptopia seeing withdrawal as a non-urgent issues they will take their nice weekend strolling the park for some fresh air.

And since its already 6PM in new Zealand right now we can expect NO More updates for this week as they already pack their bags and having a nice beer for a friday night out.

While we customers, Are waiting in vain to get our money out of cryptopia system.

Nice that whale alerts was paying attention because Cryptopia sure as shit wouldn't have noticed.

Someone steals your stuff. Your stolen stuff is locked in a container somewhere down the street, in plain sight. You don't tell anybody your stuff is there, although your neighbours and the city locals are very amenable and willing to keep watch for free. The thief starts moving your stuff but only the neighbours seem to take notice. A coleague of yours who was robbed in the same way asked everybody for help and told everybody where the stolen stuff is.

Now who acts like that in reality? Who keeps the txs a secret when the community can do so much and only the cooperation of the community is your hope of retriving stolen stuff, when it surfaces on exchanges?

Doesn't this seemingly illogical manner of acting make everybody wonder if you are in on the job?

I'm talking to you, Hex. I mean Ben.
