4  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Various NastyFans Minted Seats (from NastyMining giveaway) on: June 09, 2021, 09:29:28 PM

DETAILS:
NastyMining put on a 100 coin giveaway here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5337075.0
Some coins were won by seats owned by NastyMining and will be auctioned off here on NastyMining's behalf with funds raised going to NastyMining's holdings.
I've put in starting bids personally to make sure that they all sell in this auction.

7  Economy / Collectibles / Re: John McAfee Crypto Notes ? on: May 07, 2021, 01:24:08 PM
they were supposed to be released (along with MRU) in June of 2018 - I dont think that ever happened.

There might be a box of test prints somewhere. We just need to find whoever has this box and make them an offer they can't refuse.

F*%$ off. We're smarter than you, and we'll prove it.

Pretty sure they did not anticipate getting a mining pool involved to replace transactions Tongue
11  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] Casascius coins, especially graded ones on: February 17, 2021, 09:48:04 PM
May I ask how one gets their coins graded? (Sorry, new here) I found this in the search but wanted to see if there were other options https://www.anacs.com/

It also looks like Anacs has max value up to $10k which a loaded 1BTC Casascius would exceed.

Are there local places to the Bay Area? The shipping part stresses me out a bit

There's a courier who comes to Bay Area frequently and will take them to ICG for grading which reminds me I need to give him coins next time he's in the area.

16  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Any way to tell is these first edition bitcoin magazines are authentic? on: January 18, 2021, 04:27:53 PM
Interesting! There were only 1,000 Bitcoin Magazine #1 Issues ever released?

I'm pretty sure that's what they said on their website at one point. But as others have noted, it seems plausible that circulation was actually higher.

(Kind of like Ledger claiming the pizza ledgers were limited Tongue )

edit: to be clear, I have no evidence that ledger made more than 1,337 pizza ledgers. It just seems like there's a lot of them floating around.

Seller's feedback for reference: https://www.ebay.com/fdbk/feedback_profile/tracy_monkey?filter=feedback_page:RECEIVED_AS_SELLER&_trksid=p2047675.l2560

I'd say their story about buying a bunch when it came out is probably true (I want to say I paid like $70 for mine several years ago) and had the option to buy more but bought BTC instead Tongue

There are definitely plenty of users here who have pulled the same move on various magazines or other collectibles. (Personally I have an embarrassingly large hoard of certain magazines being stored in my parent's basement.)

30 would be 3% of the total number in existence (1000) which isn't outrageous. If you scan the cover, back cover and spine (I'm assuming it's in the plastic wrap) I'm sure people here would be more than happy to take a look at it.
