"The Founder" No offence but we don't need you advertising your shit up on this thread, Alot of people may have lost there coins, including myself which I had a large amount on there.

He was replying directly to a concern regarding competing services, as he has been in all of these similar threads. He's not threadjacking; if someone asks if there's any other ewallet sites, he answers. In my opinion he's approached the entire situation gracefully, and I won't fault him for providing an alternative to the community.

yeah im pretty pissed off at the moment

We all are and it shows.

Im running windows 7 64x, and guiMiner. No extra flags. all that shows up is my CPU

Try an older version of the Stream SDK. With some tricky googling you can get a hold of 2.1 (earliest OpenCL support iirc). The 4650 is an older card and may not support APP 2.4.
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Deepbit Transfer on: June 19, 2011, 09:49:58 PM
Hi,

I have a question about transfers from deepbit and pools in general I guess. Today I transferred 0.46 BTC out, but I haven't seen any reward.

Here's the address:

http://blockexplorer.com/address/1CmqL1q5jr3nCXwYQmYe1KBFwRb34EtnyM

Nothing so far on the radar...

How long does it normally take for a payment to show up?

It can vary. I've had payments as quick as a few minutes and as late as the next morning.

I've mined on deepbit and BTCGuild, and occasionally switch between the two. I've suffered no repercussions as a result.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Market Crash: Mt Gox has been Hacked (Official Statement) on: June 19, 2011, 08:28:54 PM
No, they really did get hacked- or at least someone leaked their accounts. Find yourself here:

redacted

Then, someone started cracking the MD5 password hashes and then, with passwords in hand, trying various accounts until they found one with lots of money. There is a $1000 per day withdrawl limit, so in order to get more bitcoins out, they had to crash the market close to 0 first. And that is what happened today.

The End.

I wish people would stop linking that file. Mods are removing posts relating to it, just not fast enough.

But yes this is what happened.

Hey Guys, I want to start mining abit but I cant seem to get my graphics card to work. I have a Saphire Radeon HD4650 and have installed the AMD SDK for OpenCL. I am able to cpu mine, but my gpu doesn't come up as a device in guiMiner.

Sorry, Im kinda new at the whole bitcoin mining thing. I regret not buying a bunch of bitcoins when the price dropped to ~$1 just a few minutes ago Sad

That price and today's trades got rolled back due to a security compromise at Mt. Gox. Someone stole those bitcoins and unloaded them.

As for why your 4650 won't mine, what operating system, miner and flags are you using?

Why is it that when I go to pay with mybitcoin.com the payment is 0.01233959 BTC rather than 0.01 even? Am I missing something?

My setup:
Running dual non-reference 6950's at 910MHz Core, 650MHz Mem, 1149mV, 79 degrees each under 98% load.
Windows 7 64-bit, running the Catalyist 11.1 drivers (11.2+ drivers cause screen tearing when I attempt to boot into windows).
GUIMiner client, 2 OpenCL workers pointed towards BTC guild.
Flags for both workers, -f128.

My buddy is currently running a Win7 x64 box with a pair of non-ref Diamond 6950s (flashing the bios and still seeing 1408 shaders was a sad, sad day) co-lo in my living room Tongue I'm going to try your clocks when I get back to the apartment, but he's running 800 MHz currently due to heat. What other flags (besides -f128) do you use and what hashrates are you getting? Besides screen tearing, were the newest Catalyst drivers affecting your hashrate? He's only pulling 630 MHs right now due to heat issues/crashes and I'd like to improve that for him.

the "must have 5 posts" rule is actually forcing us to spam.. Smiley

You could always use the limit to post constructive criticisms, help people, or engage in interesting conversation. No one is forcing you to do what you're choosing to do Wink

How many posts and why do i not have a "Post Reply" button?  I always have to "quote" somebody to respond in any of these threads?

"Reply" is at the top and bottom of each thread in the links on the right.

A lot of people who may want to use bitcoins will turn away from it if they are unable to freely use the forums Undecided

This.

For an open currency, this is a very closed community.

Five posts is hardly an insurmountable obstacle. Anyone willing to take the time to express themselves in five posts over four hours is welcome. Meanwhile, anyone unwilling to take the time to express themselves in five posts over four hours... well the logical assumption is that they don't want to be part of the community in the first place. As someone who has been reading the forums and learning for a couple of weeks now, I personally prefer this to endless melodramatic/doom and gloom/QQing/troll threads.

Hopefully with this limitation instituted my eyes will get a lot less exercise from all the rolling they had been doing.

P.S. There's 20% of my initiation right there. Grin

Sorry, I didn't make that post very clear. I wasn't addressing the 5 posts currently needed. I think thats a fair requirement. I was addressing the proposed 100 post count suggested by akiyama.

Aaaah, feeding the troll. That's where I got confused, sorry about that!

akiyama seems to be amused by simple things, is all. Leave him to his fun and don't take him seriously Tongue
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To new miners who think they can earn money with your game rig on: June 18, 2011, 04:48:59 PM
Actually, I got started by running my 5850 in my gaming machine while I was at work and asleep. 350-375 MH/s on deepbit. That was maybe a month ago, and now I'm building my first mining rig with a 6950 with unlocked shaders, a 5850, and a 5830 (in the mail). Up and running and I expect to get over 1GH/s on BTC Guild.

Don't discount the process over one person's failures and naysaying.
