On recent bets interface, I could not see the recent bets for dice when I clicked DICE on the left top website, it still shown poker recent bets.

Clicking on dice or poker allows you to place new dice or poker bets but doesn't change the recent bets. The recent bets section always shows the most recent bets of both types.

Hey guys!

I just wanted to give a quick update. Magician and I have been working hard on the new lite Chancecoin client, and we are almost done! We're excited to announce that we expect to release it on December 7th.

Cheers,

Hi,dev.,The wallet of chancecoin.com is down.

I think this reminder" Thank you for betting" should always show on the screen until the beginning the next bet... When I bet I don't know if I succeeded or not..

The wallet page for the chancecoin.com is supposed to be a static page. I just recently tested the wallet and the betting functionality in the Chancecoin client and both seem to work for me. I'll look into this further.

The rationale for making "Thank you for betting" message appearing briefly is to give them a quick visual feedback or confirm of their bet. Users should be able to see that their bet succeeded by looking at the most recent bets right underneath the betting form.

Sometimes the deal had been lost,Maybe we need a better reminder.
Sometimes need to delete the DB To play better.

Sometimes appear the following error:
1022885 [Thread-26] INFO Blocks - Working status: false

"1022885 [Thread-26] INFO Blocks - Working status: false" - This is actually not an error. It's simply an internal application print out that tells us whether the Blocks object is working on parsing the previous blocks.

For the last couple of days, I've tried everything listed here, but I am ALWAYS getting the error: "The transaction did not go through successfully. Please try again".

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CHA] Chancecoin, a coin for betting in a decentralized casino on: August 17, 2014, 04:17:18 AM
@Devs can you explain a bit more how btc betting is working?
I have cha in my account but I am betting using btc - I don't see the order book or volume change in poloniex (not when I lost and not when I win a bet).

Here's a more detailed explanation:
When you bet with BTC, we have a server that figures out how much CHA you can buy with the BTC bet on Poloniex, and then creates a special transaction that turns your BTC bet into a CHA bet (crediting your account and debiting ours). The CHA/BTC price you get is exactly what you would get on Poloniex by buying the offers at that exact moment. In fact, our server will generally actually buy those offers at the same time. In this case, we were low on funds, and so you didn't actually see transactions going through Poloniex at the time of your bet. Some of the time, as we're transferring BTC and CHA to and from Poloniex to keep this service up and running, we might not actually buy the offers immediately.
Some time soon we'll update the Technical documentation with these recent changes.
Magician
P.S. The exact fee per bet is 0.0000456 BTC.

Just to make sure, even if there is a "fund" with the devs chancecoins for "fast" liquidity for btc bets, in the end all of the chancecoin liquidity is coming from poloniex?

I mean that in no way the devs chancecoin amount is decreasing - right?

Correct -- our CHA holdings will not decrease. The server will only ever automatically buy CHA back with incoming BTC (sending the price of CHA up on Poloniex).

We are definitely not reducing our CHA holdings at such a mature point in our coin development where most of the key features are implemented. We are actually quite excited about the upcoming weeks where we can start shifting our focus a bit to the marketing side. The next round of marketing launch should have a much bigger impact now as our project is more complete and the user interface is much improved. Let us know if you have any creative ideas Wink

Sad

Did 2 successful poker bets with 2.5 wallet and after that nothing helps. I deleted everything except the 'wallet' and downloaded 2.6, but still get this error.  Shocked

It's strange that you are getting that error more than once. You can try to delete everything, including the wallet file, and then download the latest version and re-import your private key.

In case you are wondering, the reason you are getting that error is that your client did not get a good response from the page "http://api.bitwatch.co/pushtx/[your transaction hex]". If you can run the Chancecoin jar from the command line by "java -jar Chancecoin.jar", you can see the url with the transaction hex at the time of the error. You can try to go to that address in your browser to see what it returns and let us know if you need more help.

BTC betting will kill Chancecoin..

Quite the opposite! BTC betting means a new user with BTC but doesn't have CHA yet can start betting right away. In the backend the Chancecoin server will use Poloniex API to purchase the necessary CHA from the offers on Poloniex and then process the bet using the acquired CHA. This should make it a lot easier for new users to start playing and acquire CHA in the process. Now the question is, when the betting volume picks up, especially with the new volume from users betting with BTC, which way would the CHA price go?  Wink
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CHA] Chancecoin, a coin for betting in a decentralized casino on: July 09, 2014, 03:44:24 AM
I wouldn't want to depend on only one altcoin. Nxt or Dogecoin can still disappear or be replaced. They are only 6 months old. Auroracoin or Quarks were 3rd months ago.
Their future should not influence CHA future. And 95% of people wont't play CHA if you choose a competing coin.

Silly question : Is there a way to use multiple blockchains, depending on speed or min-max levels ? In "real life", some games are instant and others are daily or weekly like lotteries ?

We've had some discussions regarding using another blockchains such as DOGE or NXT to speed up the betting process. This solution is actually much more cumbersome than it looks from a user experience standpoint. Many new users have to do the following:

1. Transfer BTC to an exchange, let's say poloniex
1. Buy DOGE/BTC on Poloniex
2. Transfer DOGE to the chancecoin app
3. Make bets using DOGE
4. Transfer DOGE back to Poloniex
5. Sell DOGE/BTC on Poloniex

The process of acquiring this other currency makes it harder for a new user to try out the Chancecoin app, which is the first and probably the most important step in user acquisition. An upcoming change that allows users to bet directly with BTC (automatically converting wagered BTC to CHA via a liquidity pool in the process) will provide a one-click betting solution and get rid of this hassle. Also, to address the issue of the slow betting process, we have another interesting idea we are currently experimenting that could make it a lot faster for making a few bets in a row. Stay tuned!

A lot of great new ideas from the last week. We must set priorities.

Devs
1. bets to be confirmed and resolved as fast as possible.
2. reduce the output value from 0.0001086 BTC to 0.0000780 BTC.
3. host live services on chancecoin.com (block explorer, faucet, etc.).
4. Single-player casino games (poker, blackjack, roulette, color wheel, etc.)

Marketing Team - TwinWinNerD, superresistant and anyone else that cares:
1. bter have a voting list now : https://bter.com/voting - ask bter to add chancecoin to voting list.
2. Get on blogs and Internet publications -- CoinDesk, TechCrunch, etc. (market Chancecoin from this angle: http://newsbtc.com/2014/06/23/just-dice-doge-dice-get-betting-depositing-disabled/ - decentralized betting....cant be closed. Competitors just vanished !)
3. Get in major newspapers
4. Bitcointalk signature campaign
5. Faucet
6. Promotions to encourage gambling
7. chancecoin twitter https://twitter.com/chancecoin - (@devs, I would like to take the role to update chancecoin twitter about major development and work to add more followers).
8. upvote chancecoin on reddit http://www.reddit.com/r/chancecoin
9. send CHA to the donation address: 1CHANCeWHSRAfvfi4rwo8v6NEY64RfZYqB

Nice list! I submitted a request on Bter to add Chancecoin to the voting list. Marketing team should do this as well just to make sure our request does not get lost or go unnoticed.

We've been working on the dev related tasks - update coming soon!

hello Devs,
I am an early IPO investor who burned CHA through BTC. However, my CHA wallet is just able to be synced today. And now, I want to get back my CHA. Can you tell me how to get it?

Try importing the private key into the Chancecoin wallet.

Hi Coindacioius,
I have the same issue as yidian. How do I get the private key from bitcoin wallet? Could you give me some hints?

Thank you

Perfect reason to choose decentralized betting....cant be closed.
Competitors just vanished !

These are big news indeed - on the same level as the btct.co shutdown started the distributed exchange (dex) race we seen now with all the 2nd gen crypto.

Cha has a good chance here to be the lead in distributed betting (dbet?).

This should be great for decentralized gambling. We'll look for ways to market Chancecoin from this angle.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CHA] Chancecoin, a coin for betting in a decentralized casino on: June 21, 2014, 09:43:51 PM
I propose that we go back to using Blockchain hashes as our source of randomness for transactions in blocks where the total amount of CHA that can possibly be won (for all bets in the block) is less than 2,000 CHA.
+1

2,000 CHA = about 2 btc right now.
I think its safe even with a total of 5,000.

Since each mining block has 25 bitcoins and using the burn valuation of 0.001 BTC/CHA, we are considering using the Blockchain hashes as a source of randomness for bets in blocks where the max payout is less than 25,000 CHA. For blocks where the total bet payout is over 25,000 CHA, we will use the new york lottery numbers in addition to the bitcoin block hashes. This should allow us to resolve the bet as soon as the current block is mined, significantly reducing the waiting time. Let us know what you think.

I'd say around the same time we release the new games, we should start pushing for media attention. Venetian and I emailed a few different sources (TechCrunch, Coindesk, etc.) a while back, but a lot has changed since then. I think when we're ready to do that, we should make a list of media contacts and a list of "talking points," and then we should all email all of these people. Sort of like with how we got on the front page of reddit and Hacker News, we should be able to "harness the crowd" to get the attention of some of these media outlets.

I just want to give a better sense of how much traffic these marketing channels can bring us. We are averaging 250 unique visitors per day, but when chancecoin was the top post on Hacker News, we had 5000+ unique visitors in 24 hours. We achieved similar amazing results from being one of the top posts on Bitcoin sub-Reddit.

We can bring much more traffic to chancecoin site and forum with your help! We want to start by getting on another exchange (for example, Bter) and get news coverage by one of the big guys (Techcrunch, CoinDesk, etc). Let us know if you can help Chancecoin in either getting on Bter or getting news coverage, especially if you have a personal contact or connection with them Tongue

Cheers,
Venetian

This is great. I just created a forum at http://chancecoin.com/forum/index.php. Let's try to get organized there. In the post called "Elections," I nominated TwinWinNerD to be the Treasurer. I think you already won that election.  Grin
Magician
@Magician thank you for creating the forum.
In my opinion it's best if we keep talking here and only when the community grows bigger move to chancecoin forum.
We need more participation here on BTT to get this thread noticed.
(p.s: i think the chancecoin forum can be a good place to post summary of the things going on here so it will be easy for the Devs and community to follow. For example I opened Development Question for Devs post: http://chancecoin.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13, collecting questions community member have for Devs that were posted here in bitcointalk.)

Yes. Let's keep talking here as we are not too many and keep a résumé of important things on the other forum to keep track.

Agreed. We'll concentrate our discussion here and use the forum on chancecoin.com as a place to keep a summary of the important things that are mentioned here. This will help us build a stronger community on bitcointalk. Sometimes un-categorized discussions here actually foster better exchanges of ideas and can lead to good ideas like this one!

Just want to give a quick update for everyone. We've had several back and forth communications with Busoni. He has been exceptionally helpful and patient in working with us to determine the issue. We think the problem has been identified and are currently awaiting his response. We will definitely let everyone know as soon as we hear back!

As to the more exciting part of our update, we are currently working on other single player casino games and will be announcing more details in the next couple of weeks. For those who are curious and mathematically inclined, we will be using this cool numerical system called Factoradics!

We've just released the new version 2.2 that addresses some of the aforementioned issues with betting. Also, we've been in contact with Poloniex to make sure that the Chancecoin server runs correctly. We'll keep everyone posted!

Cheers,

can't update on win 7. Just tries to update over and over.

You can try again. It should work now.
