AMT,
My miners are still having the same issues as day one. One card never worked and the another only hashes at a low rate.

Let me know what is occurring in dec as a compensation. As you know, I was expecting delivery in March and never received my units on time as well.

Thanks

Hello AMT,
As an update I have the following:

1.   Top card never turned on so its most likely dead.
2.   Second card hashes at a lower value. This is the card whose heat sink is a little off from one side.

Should I go ahead and send back the top card and get a replacement? Its not doing anything sitting in the unit. Also do you have any steps on reseating the heat sink on the second card? Or should I just not touch it?

      Let me know,

Thanks in Advance!

AMT,
With my 4 cards working I'm getting a lower than expected hash rate. Can you let me know what to do to troubleshoot why the cards are working at a lower speed? I'm only getting an average of 730 GH. The 5th card is not attached right now since it doesn't work.

     Let me know,

Thanks in Advance.

Just a quick idea before we get a technical answer on this. Get your brother to copy the card from his miner flash an sd card with the copied image. You can use win image 32 for making the copy.

AMT,
I got my brothers card and tried it on my machine this morning. The top card is still dead and the hashing on "one" of the other cards looked better this morning. However I did notice that on the card that seems like its not hashing fully, the heat sink is not properly placed on the card (its lifted up from one side). So it may be that the heat on the chips on that card are overheating which causes the card to not fully hash.

Let me know if and how I should return the top card as its not turning on at all. I will let you know what the other cards hash rate it later on when I get back home.

Thanks in Advance.

AMT,
So to summarize here are my current machine's standing...

1.   Top card is completely dead - Never worked
2.   Second card is only partially hashing - Never fully hashed. This is the card that its heat sink doesn't look like its fully seated from one side.

Let me know what I should do to further troubleshoot or if I should return the cards or unit?

Thanks in Advance.

AMT,
My brother's unit is hashing presently. All 5 of his cards are green and show up hashing in the interface. His interface is in Chinese but we got it working.

However, I also noticed that in his Chinese interface the "Temp" field is populating with values. On my machine the value is stuck on 0 for the 4 cards that are showing.

Let me know what I should do to get the temp field working and if I should return the top card for replacement.

Thanks in Advance.

AMT,
Sorry my last message was confusing. Here is the status.

4 cards are hashing.
Top card has no lights and seems dead. Is there something we can check to see if its initializing correctly?

Thanks in Advance.

Yes, unscrew the side and make sure the top card's two connecting cables are plugged in tightly, sometimes they can come loose in shipping. Also check the other end of the cards cable as the based of the motherboard, just follow it down and make sure that's plugged in tightly as well.

AMT,
Yes, made sure the two cables on top were tight. To be clear, one is a ribbon and the other is a power cable.

I also swapped out the power cable with the one below it (since it worked) and verified that the power cable is good.

Also swapped out the ribbon with the one below it and still same issue. No lights are coming on the top card and it does not show up in the interface.

Let me know what else to try.

Thanks in Advance.

Turn off the miner, unplug one of the other boards and plug it into module which isn't lighting up, leave another card unplugged, turn it back on.  <- Thinking electric now. Do the same with the ribbon cable from the unplugged card.

AMT,
Did as you said. Still no lights on the top board with the second board two cables detached.

I also switched the cables from the top to the bottom card and the second card still functions. So its not the cables or the connection to the motherboard.

Let me know what else to try.

Thanks in Advance.

Didn't you say that you received two miners?

Yes, my brother is going to setup the second one at his house. He's still at work. Will let you know how his works.

Thanks,

Well the idea was to test the draw from outlet, but from what you said after it looks maybe a board may be bad which we'll replace quickly. But test the other miner just to make sure you dont have a similar problem.

Will do, thanks. He's going to test tonight or tomorrow.

Thank you

AMT,
I've managed to connect to the web interface and input my credentials for BTC Guild. The interface says "running" but nothing is showing up on BTC Guild's dashboard. After a couple of minutes your interface says "stopped".

Can you assist? I've left a VM on your support line as well.

Thanks

What's the url your using to connect to btcguild?

I've tried both the following:

stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com:3333
stratum.btcguild.com:3333

Account name is my worker name that I have been using..

How about the difficulty setting on the miner?  1024?

I had left the difficulty to the default which was 256. Just changed it to 1024 - still same issue.

Thanks in Advance.

Ok change it back to 256. And make sure the worker on btc guild is 256 as well.  Does BTCguild detect the worker and is just showing a zero hash rate? Or the worker doesn't even show up?

Showing offline in BTC Guild. Its showing zero hash rate and offline. Reset BTC guild and AMT to 256 and tested. Still same issue.

Turned off and turned the unit back on. Still no hashing and the air is still cool.

first try a different pool.
second check your router to make sure its not blocking the miner in some way. It seems like the issue is network related, check your router's settings. Some have automatic firewalls for unrecognized machines.
third open the miner and make sure all the plugs are connected tightly and the lights from the modules are working as well.

Ok, so I had plugged in the main motherboard but did not put in the power to the cards. Plugged them in.
The top card - no lights are coming on.
Other cards below - lights are flashing

However, now the web interface is dead. I cant connect to the web interface via IE or Chrome.

I also pulled the power cable out of the top card just to see if the web interface comes up and still no interface.

So one card is not initializing (unless the blinking lights mean the same). and cannot access web interface now.

Let me know how to proceed.

Thanks in Advance

At least we are getting the promised hashrate. If it works and its a proven design that is known to work then whats the problem?
No problem with that.  But see the other thread...
Generally could care less what goes on there. ck is just miffed so many folks use cgminer and he gets near nada from it.. Now if it is a reminder to trolls that if they want post to remain, the users thread is where they belong, fine. Gee, Bitmain, Spondoolies, BlackArrow, TechnoBit, etc all moderate/delete posts. Their thread, their rules. So what?

Ja, BitMine.ch seemed to have no idea of the pitfalls in birthing a complex power design. JoshCo definitely had no idea and relied massively on what BitMine gave to them. Wildly over promised on many levels? Damn right. Horribly executed. Double damn right.

BFL - after their 40nm chip release, dumbfounded there. To me the technicals needed to safely push the Monarch chip should have been obvious. And should have been addressed in later revs after working ones on the comparatively low original spec hash rate were sent out.

In all cases regardless of chip/miner mfgr the price paid then vs now for GHS is the massive foaming at the mouth gorilla that certainly has to be dealt with somehow. Getting rigs with at least as-ordered hash  rate is #1 right now. Only a start, but still a 1st step.

Right in that sense at least better than BFL who has yet to deliver $4,000+ 600Ghs machines. And they have NO plans to compensate. AMT as disorganized as they are have at least made some effort to offer something. Whether that happens is another matter. But its important that they first deliver what was originally ordered. Hashrate at least.

Wrong,
I had 5 orders with bfl that I had also upgraded to monarch's. Guess what, they had stated if 6 months go by for the original order I can ask for a refund. 6 months went by I requested it, received a response the next day and done !

Amt , no response ... don't compare these jokers with bfl.

Another 30 out today. Please be kind enough to post that you've received a tracking number. Thanks.

Now, now everyone, AMT is simply saying they shipped out 30. Doesn't mean they shipped out miners or what type of miners. They could have a donut shop and could be shipping out 30 donuts a day for all we know Smiley
