1  Other / Archival / Re: Why has bitcoin adoption failed in El Salvador? on: November 07, 2022, 07:20:51 PM
El Salvador has about 2% of their reserves in bitcoin. It isn't very much in the big picture. El Salvador had the USD imposed on them and it wasn't popular when that happened, bitcoin seems to be following the same path. Using and understanding bitcoin takes time and not a lot of it has passed
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it cheaper to send Bitcoin or Ethereum directly? on: November 07, 2022, 07:14:30 PM
Sending bitcoin at 1 sat/vb is very inexpensive something like 3 or 4 cents. If the person was trying to send from a centralized exchange they would have no ability to set the fee and they would need to pay the withdraw fee which is fixed by the exchange. In my experience sending Eth has always cost more
3  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Almost lost all of my coins in an exchange last week on: February 05, 2021, 10:46:47 PM
Very sad. I suggest you to never put money on small, fake and untrusted exchanges. Only put money in exchange that  has a good reputation in the market such as binance, kucoin, bitmex, houbi etc. Our money stay safe in big exchanges. There are many fake exchanges in the market so we should avoid them.

The exchange he was using was the first one on your list of good reputation exchanges. So the instead of saying trust this or that exchange it should be said to trust no exchange and as soon as you can to get your coins into your custody. Glad that you were able to remedy the situation I'm sure that was a very stressful thing to have happen.

What happens when the new owner finds out that he doesn't actually own the property and somebody forged the documents?
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alert: stay away from new type of bitcoin scam on: January 29, 2021, 05:56:09 AM
Seems like it would be easy to avoid that kind of scam. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Bitcoin is precious don't be foolish with it and give it away without regard.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what point did you realise that Bitcoin was a failed project? on: January 29, 2021, 04:55:22 AM
Ok, i see, so for 99% of the users of bitcointalk, the only thing that matters is if the price of BTC is going up or not. That alone is proof bitcoin is a failed project, almost nobody is using it for what it originally was intended for. What more proof do you need, its right there in front of you  Cheesy

Bitcoin has proven to the whole world that it has failed and failed hard, now the only thing its good for is as a ponzi scheme, and once the ponzi pops, then what, what are we left with after the bubble ends, a corpse of a crypto.

Being the first crypto is not necessarily a good thing 12 years later, now its just an old useless dinosaur. Dont waste your time and effort with this old crap, there are much better cryptos than BTC.

Bitcoin is now just as useless as the 12+ year old computers it was first mined on. Try using a 12+ year old pc today, its useless, just as useless as BTC is for paying in a normal everyday shop.

Not really sure how bitcoin is a ponzi considering a ponzi would not allow a open ledger. And in a ponzi astronomical returns are guaranteed where as in bitcoin most people will tell you that it is a volatile asset that has the potential to lose your entire investment. So while you might not think bitcoin is a good cryptocurrency saying it is a ponzi scheme is ignorant. I buy plenty of things with lightning network so while you may be unaware of tools that allow you to use bitcoin everyday doesn't mean everyone else is the same.

Most of the time I use a vpn. I figure it is better to be a little more cautious when I'm using the internet.
8  Other / Off-topic / Re: China Owns Us: How the Chinese Are Buying Up America on: January 24, 2021, 05:11:18 AM
when discussing china I see that the country is very fast-developing...
even Chinese citizens are scattered in almost all cities in the world, they are famous for their diffuse nature. The US is free land, so there is no reason for them to ban Chinese citizens there. I am curious about China's relationship with the US after Biden was elected president.

Looks like they're getting ready in the event that the Dems mandate electric vehicles. I'd say they're pretty happy with the way things turned out for them.

China has been looking forward for 30 plus years. They have been very strategic in terms of inserting themselves in almost every level of production and supply.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what point did you realise that Bitcoin was a failed project? on: January 24, 2021, 04:55:55 AM
I don't think bitcoin has failed. I have bought things with bitcoin, so therefore it is a success. I understand there may be limitations at this point but there were limitations when the first airplane was built. People kept building and making things better, in my opinion bitcoin has a long way to go before it reaches the final product.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why government not take good step? on: January 24, 2021, 04:46:39 AM
In my country no bank will let clients send or receive cash to crypto exchanges .... very costly to buy or sell BTC now.
Not like before 2019
I think bit coin has now to many control from government. the fist is closing ,bit coin in bad spot .

Can you still access services like hodlhodl or bisq or are those also unaccesible?
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Had you sold your Bitcoins ? on: January 24, 2021, 04:31:53 AM
I have not. I figured I would decide if I want to sell bitcoin in the year 2030 by the earliest. Ive been putting money that would otherwise be sitting in a cd or savings account making almost nothing. So I'm gonna see if it gets me an early retirement in a decade.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why government not take good step? on: January 24, 2021, 04:18:28 AM
Government has no control over bitcoin so it scares them because they are use to having some measure of control over all financial sectors. Does it scare them enough to ban it or try to prohit it? Depends on where you live but it is obvious bitcoin channels the common desire for humans to be in control of themselves.
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: Things you can do in self-isolation:) on: January 23, 2021, 02:57:21 PM
Reading is a great thing to do when you are isolated by yourself. Try a variety of topics from entertaining to educational. Meditation and stretching are great for your body but also for you mind. We spend so much time sitting at desks or in chairs that put us in strange unnatural positions. The best way to combat that is to stretch your muscles so that as you get older you will stay limber and help prevent a lot of common problems in modern humans. Mediation helps your brain stay relaxed and calm when situations in previous times could cause you to overreact or act impulsively.
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Holy Bible is the only book that gives a trusted idea of what will happen in USA on: January 23, 2021, 02:43:39 PM
I'm not sure the bible cared or predicted anything about an election in the United States in the year 2020. I understand some people might be susceptible to over dramatization but the USA will continue on as it does after every election no matter how much someone on the internet may say otherwise.
15  Other / Off-topic / Re: China Owns Us: How the Chinese Are Buying Up America on: January 23, 2021, 02:35:02 PM
China owns most of the world at this point. Over the last decade they have put substantial investment and development in parts of Africa, South America and a lot of Australia. Just the way things are going at the moment the USA is too busy domestically and the majority of the world does not want to or cannot compete with China.
16  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the ultimate goal of illuminati world rulers on: January 23, 2021, 02:21:00 PM
I don't know why the illuminati is so popular, I guess people need to think there is some kind of evil ruler making things bad, it makes something far more complex into something simple.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else still regret not buying Bitcoin in 2011? on: January 22, 2021, 10:18:30 PM
I learned about bitcoin then maybe in 2010 but I was in my early 20s and was more interested in other things. Probably would not have been responsible with it or kept them to see the gains a decade later. That is the way life goes can't beat yourself up over things that you didn't do.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is the ultimate winner of Bitcoin pump? on: January 22, 2021, 09:50:41 PM
Probably people who have been holding for more than a few years. If you decided to sell some I would imagine they would have made a good profit.

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good mobile wallet on: January 22, 2021, 08:32:15 PM
Blue wallet is my preference for a mobile wallet They have a lot of great features and the software is open source. I believe it is only for android.
