1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash.com - rig owners needed - currently at 0.009+ btc/mh/day on: April 20, 2014, 01:34:17 AM
Guys just wanted to say this is out-and-out the best combination of altcoin mining ideas out there. Well executed, straightforward and hugely profitable. Scrypt is back!

Serious props!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 28nm ASIC Scrypt Miner on: April 20, 2014, 01:26:23 AM
22nm, 1 chip = 3M-5M. System can be 1GH or 1.3GH

Am I doin it rite?

You need these in your config or bat file:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

+1 yes, this! In my experience tc 32765 and g 1 is optimum for 290Xs, but it won't work without the above.

x11 is ASIC resistant to the extent there's no ASICs on the horizon specifically for it YET, but given all the component algos are designed to be easily implemented in hardware it will happen and quicker than scrypt has!

Having said that it's a great stopgap, very profitable coins per kWh and I'm loving the reduced noise of my cooler rigs Smiley

Try these settings first:

intensity: 20
thread-concurrency: 32765
gpu-engine: 920
gpu-memclock: 1500

This should net you 882kh/s. Let that settle for a while and see how you go.

After a while of that, try changing gpu-engine to 1025. If you've got Hynix RAM you'll get close to 1MH.. Elpida OTOH will slow down (if that happens, stick with 920)
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Different Gpu-threads on vertminer(7950&280x) on: April 05, 2014, 09:20:52 AM
AFAIK no fork of vertminer currently supports different thread numbers, sgminer style.

I'd suggest you try running two instances of vertminer, one with -g 1, one with -g 2, each with only the relevant devices enabled.

eg if Device 0,1 are your 7950s: -g 1 -d 0,1  and -g 2 -d 2,3

This worked for me in brief testing, no reason this shouldn't work longer term that I'm aware of (I ended up leaving my mixed-card rigs on sgminer and I'm only running vertminer on my 290X rigs)
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Have any cards that just dont hash like they used to? on: April 03, 2014, 07:52:39 AM
I've got a 290X that reliably did 882kh/s (920E/1500M) precisely for 3 months, but a couple of weeks back it crashed without warning, and now from a cold start it will only run at 825kh/s (875E/1375M).

After 30 minutes' hashing, once it's warmed up, you can set it back to 920/1500 and it's fine.

All that constant hot running certainly has scope to make "alterations" to the layout of the board!

I'd like to reserve 2 licences, please!
