1  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Does Electrum use Libbitcoin ? on: August 23, 2023, 03:33:25 AM
Hearing that there is some exploit with any software wallets which use Libbitcoin Explorer 3.x

However they are not stating which wallets are affected. Only that so far $900,000 was stolen due to some poor random number generator when generating seeds.

How do we find out if Electrum uses this dependency?

The Libbitcoin library is not a dependency of Electrum.  Even though Electrum and Libbitcoin both deal with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, they are independent endeavors with various goals. Electrum's main functionality is neither directly included into or dependent upon Libbitcoin as it has its own codebase.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as good store for value on: August 23, 2023, 03:21:14 AM
Whether or whether Bitcoin is a suitable store of wealth relies on a number of variables, such as your investing objectives, level of risk tolerance, and comprehension of its properties.

It's crucial to remember that market emotion, news, macroeconomic conditions, and other things can affect Bitcoin's value. Before evaluating if Bitcoin fits with your investing objectives, you should conduct extensive study, take your risk tolerance into account, and even seek guidance from financial experts.

Additionally, rather than focusing all of your capital in Bitcoin or any other single investment, think about diversification to disperse risk across a variety of asset classes.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is This Possible To Achieve ? on: March 26, 2022, 01:57:59 AM
For some time now, liquid staking has been one of the most profitable ways to earn passive income in the crypto space. But according to pstake.finance, the nature of earning with liquid staking can be changed and improved to the earning yield. Pstake.finance is a liquid staking protocol that intends to unlock the potential of staked PoS assets by utilizing IBC(Inter Blockchain Communication) protocol introduced by Cosmos Hub (ATOM). The IBC protocol allows some kinda communication between blockchains.  The main focus of pstake.finance  is to give their users the opportunity to earn from multiple blockchain via liquid staking.  will this be possible to achieve ?

What's the point of so many cryptocurrencies?

Personally, I don't really understand why any cryptocurrency projects decide to develop their own crypto coin. This is one reason why mass adoption of cryptocurrency is not taking place. There are a lot of worthless crypto coins in the cryptocurrency ecosystem.  Some of these coins are not really needed in the crypto market and the crypto ecosystem.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk adds #Bitcoin to his Twitter bio on: January 31, 2021, 06:25:57 PM
Elon Musk adding #Bitcoin to his twitter bio does not really influence mass adoption of Bitcoin. It will just made people buy bitcoin without understanding why they are buying it or what bitcoin is  and its purpose in the financial ecosystem. This will just make people lose money since they are just going to invest without knowing that Bitcoin market is very volatile. Not all of his followers have in-depth knowledge about Bitcoin investment and trading.

Banks hope to issue their own "bitcoins" to fight BTC

There is no way banks can issue cryptocurrency based coin to fight or replace Bitcoin. First and foremost, Banks operate through a centralized system and it will be difficult for a centralized coin  to fight a decentralized coin like Bitcoin. Also, Bitcoin has been in the financial ecosystem for about 10 years now and the banks think they can issue their own coin to kick Bitcoin off  just like that.  The banks and governments are just jokers. There  is no way they can stop the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency revolution from happening.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is INDIA going to BAN Bitcoin Again? on: January 30, 2021, 05:48:40 PM
My question is simple, the use of Bitcoin has never been public so how is the India government going to ban the use of Bitcoin?  They should rather ban the use of the internet  Grin, that might help stop people from using bitcoin. I don't get governments who are trying to stop the use of cryptocurrencies. They always wanna have control of the financial ecosystem and the circulation of money. They should just give up and accept the fact that decentralization and cryptocurrencies are the future of the financial ecosystem.

Will Altcoins replace Bitcoin?!?!?

I don't know why people still make this speculation regarding the possibility that altcoins will replace Bitcoin. There is no way altcoins have any chance of replacing the king of cryptocurrency. Altcoins do not really represent any relevant entity in the financial ecosystem. Bitcoin is currently considered as a financial asset  and a digital currency for most of the online crypto transactions. How many altcoins are considered as a digital currency and used for online transactions on the crypto market?

THE CRYPTO MARKET IS SO RICH AND SATURATED

The crypto market has always been rich and saturated, you just need to understand the nature of the entire in order to know what to invest in. In as much that the crypto market is rich, you should also understand that there are a lot scams available on the crypto market. These scams are part of the reasons why the market is also saturated.  There are about 45% of scam projects on the crypto market. After they made money, the project becomes dead and investors become victims.

What will you do if Bitcoin hits $1m in the future?

First and foremost, looking at the market projections of Bitcoin for the past years now, there is no way one Bitcoin will be worth a million dollars in the future. Gold has been around for so many years now but its market value per ounce is worth a million, why will you have the assumption that Bitcoin has that potential. Sometimes we need to real when making some predictions. Bitcoin has not even attained mass adoption and people are thinking of it being worth a million in the future. Lol.

Is bitcoin anonymous?

Bitcoin is not 100 percent anonymous. Transactions made on the Bitcoin blockchain are easily accessible and all transactions has some kind of identity code attached to it.   In as much that names of people making the transactions can't be seen, IP address of what people are using to make their transactions are attached to the blockchain. Once these IP address can be obtained, the identity and location of the person making the transaction can be easily identified. Bitcoin blockchain works like the torrent network.

What happens to my bitcoin if I die today?

There are two thing you can do in order to make it possible for your Bitcoin to be used or owned by someone after you are dead and gone. The first thing is to write a will and that will must have the private key to your wallet and also declaring the person who is to inherit Bitcoin. The other thing is to share any relevant information regarding the details of your bitcoin wallet with the person whom you will like to have your bitcoins once you are no more.  These are the only way possible i think your bitcoins will not be lost when you are no more.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin ever be use as other country currency on: January 26, 2021, 09:28:45 PM
Can Bitcoin ever be use as other country currency and it will still maintain it decentralized digital currency?

No government will never decide or want to adapt the use of a decentralized money, whiles they know perfectly well that  they will not have control over the use and the amount of it in circulation.  Bitcoin is  better as a universal currency rather than a currency for one country. Government prefer centralized systems rather than decentralized system where they do not have a single control. People managing and controlling a country always want total control of the country's financial transactions, and Bitcoin does not provide that kinda freedom.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does anybody have any suggestions for investing in Bitcoin? on: January 25, 2021, 09:35:21 PM

Today's market is very risky because bitcoin is a very volatile asset, the future of which is still uncertain. To mitigate any risks involved with investing in bitcoin, you should wait for it to achieve new ATH.

I don't really think i will agree with you on this. All ventures of investing, there is some level risk associated to them.  The price volatility of Bitcoin can be a blessing and curse depending your level of knowledge about the Bitcoin market. With good knowledge about the bitcoin market, price volatility will be the focal point of your investment plans and strategies. As a Bitcoin investor, you should be concern about the rate at which the price of Bitcoin changes and use that at your advantage to make profit.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's reason for pumping btc price? on: January 24, 2021, 09:45:36 PM
I know bitcoin when it price 300$. But i don't buy Bitcoin cause i can't believe it. Today btc price highly increase but why? Can you tell what reason?

The increase in the demand and usage of Bitcoin is the basic reason why the market value of Bitcoin keeps pumping for time to time. And when demand rate increases with a fixed supply rate, the market value of that product also increases. In the case of Bitcoin, the demand rate of it has increased from the launch till now and there is also a fixed amount of it.  Once there is a fixed number of Bitcoin to be in circulation, the market value of Bitcoin increase as years go by. So the basic reason why the price of Bitcoin will keep increasing is the fact that it has a fixed supply and the its demand in the crypto ecosystem will keep increasing.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what point did you realise that Bitcoin was a failed project? on: January 24, 2021, 04:24:33 AM
Do you remember exactly when you realised Bitcoin had failed as a cryptocurrency. What was your thoughts around that epiphany.

What in your mind would it take to fix bitcoin, so its no longer too slow and expensive to use.

Is there any hope for Bitcoin, or have you given up on it?

Why is Bitcoin a failed project ? Bitcoin has been in the financial ecosystem for about 11 years now and you are calling bitcoin as a failed project. What do you understand when something is described as a failed project? To my understanding, a failed  crypto project is usually that project with no significant importance in the crypto ecosystem. Bitcoin is basically the bench mark for every crypto project.  You shouldn't use the slow transaction speed of Bitcoin to describe it as a failed project.

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some important tips about the bitcoin market on: January 14, 2021, 05:17:50 PM
My advice to friends (based on experience)

1.Buy as much as you can
2.Buy on the floor, but do not wait for correction or fall.
3.Do not do anything for the price of tetra and dollars…
4.If it comes down to a short time that you bought at a reasonable price….
5.If it comes down in the long run and stays that you did not lose in the long run, everything will be cheaper than the dollar.
6.Do not act emotionally… Wherever you say to buy or sell… you are more likely to lose

If you have any suggestions, let us all know so we can use this experience.
Thanks Wink

All you need is knowledge and understanding. Without these two elements, no amount of important tips can really help you in the Bitcoin market. Knowledge and understanding will let you know when to buy or invest and when to sell. Knowledge and understanding also helps you to develop plans and strategies to suit the current market pattern of the market. Tips are just addons, they don't really influence the profits or loses you are gonna make.

Bitcoin VS Gold - What is better for long term investors?

Both Bitcoin and Gold are good  long term investment entities but regarding on whether bitcoin is better than Gold will strongly depend on the investor's investing plans and strategies. You can equally make a good amount of profit with bitcoin or Gold if you understand what you are investing in and what to do as an investor. Personally, I don't see any of these two having much advantage over the other in terms of investment. You only make profit when you invest wisely and at the right time.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Dying on: January 14, 2021, 03:57:00 PM
Bitcoin is dying and you could be among those who are killing it. In 2010 Laszlo paid 10,000 bitcoins for a pizza. We all know this story but how many of us understand it? Do you think Laszlo didn't see potential in Bitcoin? He could have hodl and sell it off, but, he made that transaction to prove a point; to prove that Bitcoin is actually a currency. But since the price skyrocketed, only a few care about the sole aim of the currency. Everyone is "buying the dip", or "Investing some $$" in Bitcoin, and that is killing Bitcoin. The average person today sees bitcoin as an investment. Are we really turing this Cryptocurrency into a Crypto Asset?!

A way of making more money due to the price speculation. With every new investor believing this, I hate to say this but, Bitcoin is dying. I know that the chances of Bitcoin's price dropping so bad are small. But if it happens, if it ever happens, a lot of people will lose, a lot will pull out, a lot will tag us scam, a lot will (out of anger) say that we are centralized, and a lot would never know or participate in the real use of Bitcoin. We need to figure this out before it becomes too late.

Majority of people in the bitcoin ecosystem are aware of the fact that Bitcoin is a digital currency designed to facilitate online transactions easier and faster. Just like physical money which a lot of people use it for their daily transactions whiles others prefer to keep theirs in the bank, Bitcoin is also used by people for most of their online transactions whiles others prefer to hold onto theirs since there is a potential for Bitcoin to increase in its market value.  Personally, I don't think I will agree with you on the fact that Bitcoin is dying as a currency. I think you don't really understand how the financial ecosystem operates.
