1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: August 01, 2015, 05:04:28 AM
My first compy was a handme down TI-99A using TI-BASIC.   I then remember getting a decent copy of Qbasic running on a handmedown Amstrad (GEM what what) and that was amazing...  Then once in high school the Pentiums were the rage.   In high school they taught us some Fortran and Pascal.  Like many kids, I thought I wanted to make video games when I grew up....  But my passion was always more creative and less analytical.  It was the world creation and writing that excited me, not necessarily the technical aspects.

In college,  the fucking University of South Carolina kept telling us how Java was the future of software development and made us all learn that (vs. C or C++ like we should have been learning).

Even though I dropped out, those years of studying programming, hardware level programming, really hard problems (NP vs P, etc) were invaluable.  I'm fortunate to have just enough knowledge to understand the basics of what bitcoin, Monero, and cryptocurrency represent.

Java has bene the future, way more Java jobs than any other language.

Is mymonero.com broken? I made a new account to test, and I can't login with the just generated private key. "No account found!"

Just created a new wallet and it is working for me. Although I did have that same problem last week.

Hm.

Do you use mymonero to keep a good amount of coin? I can't find a user friendly, and secure way to store monero. Something like electrum for BTC.

MyMonero is currently the most user friendly way. There is an official GUI wallet underway, but work is prioritized towards core issues with the database and other dev things.

As long as you keep your seed words safe and your computer free of key loggers I think you can be confident storing your XMR using MyMonero. All the wallet generation is done in your browser, they don't know your private key.

If you want to try it out just start an account there and PM me your address Cheesy

PM'd

If anyone is interested in buying Burstcoins.com from me, I will transfer immediately for a sum of $150. I am not able to provide maintenance to keep the site up to date, and thus wish to sell it back to somebody in the community.

He failed to identify what the request was, who it was directed to, and who ignored it.  And guess what, he won't do it.

Maybe because I have the secret feature called "PM" and it wasn't directed to you?

Just a guess.

~BCX~

Are you talking about the PM we shared? In that case, I'll refer you to a statement made by fluffy to me:

"also, how can we publicly admit something exists when we don’t have any details :-P"

What do you want, really, BCX? Is it love, a women? Perhaps social acceptance? Something is missing for you to continuously act in such a way. I am happy to help you if it is companionship, but it seems you are a lone wolf. What can we do to make you happy?

Now its time to make sure this piece of shit get banned after OCT12

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=815678.new#new

Nobody is getting banned LOL

You remind of the poster LTEX from Auroracoin, posting the same things in complete denial a few months back.

Go back three years and you even sound like ViperJBM from 2011 in Solidcoin

Or maybe a couple of those TRC bastards from a couple of years ago,

Every coin has a Nekomata and it always ends the same way.

Them eating every bravado post they made in reference to me.

You'll be no different.

Why do you refuse to respond to the dev team showing all your demands have been met, and instead focus on non dev-team members comment towards or about you?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: October 04, 2014, 06:00:45 AM
I'm curious as to how the original bitcoin devs got funding in their early days. How were they able to perform such an amazing service to the world by maintaining such bad original code, and steering the ship among many of the early catastrophes? Perhaps angel investors gave them hundreds of thousands of dollars.

ROFL
(more funny idea than interesting idea)
Now I'm the one with NEFT shooting out my nostrils!
This was the best one yet, and bonus points for the fast response time.

Of course it was, I posted one then the next.

~BCX~

We spoke before.

Did the devs not reach out as you asked to me in PM? They have, but you continue with your attack. What is your motive to attempt to destroy a decentralized community? Again, I urge you to reconsider and to promote both a healthy mindset and action on this earth.
12  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: September 27, 2014, 05:57:02 AM
According to whom?  I think they might feel like they've uncovered some potential issues.  You demanded forced evolution.

I don't recall reading anything indicating that the dev team was ready to start licking each others' popsicles and throwing a victory party.  Certainly, that attitude exists, but, shit, trolling is everywhere.  Hard to demand forced evolution of the user/speculator base.

Try this.

~BCX~

Its over.  TW attacks will never again work against XMR.

If you read the last commit on github, you'll know the whole answer.
ANN here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.msg8961211#msg8961211

XMR Dev team rose to the challenge of forced evolution in the time available.
They have crafted a polymorphic bitmonerod+client that adds checkpoints at will and with no dev team intervention needed.  Its a decentralized self-maintainable solution that scales as needed.  Even if you DDoS github, checkpoints can still be deployed.

Thanks are due to BCX for initiating the game.  I hope it was rewarding, even though he was outplayed, this time.

If there are also some other anon-busters, but that don't rely on defanged TW, they're probably rested and ready for a rematch by now.

That is not the official statement of the dev team. Please reconsider what you are doing, this is not a healthy mindset to have. As humans, we are supposed to build things up, not break them down. It is our duty. Please reconsider.
13  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: September 27, 2014, 05:45:24 AM
So what was your reason for attacking Monero and refusing to allow devs to fix your exploit?

They claim they've already TW proofed XMR and do not need any help.

~BCX~

Monero is a decentralized cryptocurrency and thus the devs do not represent the entire currency.

On behalf of them, I would like to pay my respects to you, and plea that you allow them to fix your expoit. Their hubris should not result in the failure of a potentially viable, useful tool for millions of people.
14  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: September 27, 2014, 05:34:17 AM
Then why not attack it instead of monero? What is your reason for attacking monero and refusing to allow devs to fix your exploit?

Hey,

They're the ones saying it's not possible.

So nothing to worry about right?

~BCX~

No,

I believe your persistence merits that at least you believe you have an exploit.

In their position, what could you say? They have nothing of substance to be worried of an exploit. "Prove there are not unicorns"

I believe at least you think you have a unicorn, and I'm worried there just might be a unicorn. In case there is, can you please, please, tell the devs so they can make sure we catch the unicorn?
15  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: September 27, 2014, 05:27:05 AM

Yep I agree, this is an awesome coin.

~BCX~

This was in the NEOS thread.  Maybe we should all dump XMR and buy NEOS, another anon coin.  Mass market cap exodus from XMR into a $166K cap coin...man, that could run the price up.

I guess your sarcasm detection was set to zero.

This coin is so absurd I thought it would be obvious.

~BCX~

Then why not attack it instead of monero? What is your reason for attacking monero and refusing to allow devs to fix your exploit?

16  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: September 27, 2014, 04:44:19 AM

And (192298, 192299), (192326,192327), (192357, 192358) ... diabolical ... you've been at this for weeks!!

Another post from Hawaiian Islands.

Interesting.

~BCX~

Why are you doing this? You say forced evolution, but can't you just relay the exploit information to the devs? You are trying to kill a project that many people care about, and has only good intentions for all, (private, instantaneous transactions).

I make a plea to you to stop your TW and play the good fight.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | New version 1.1.2 on: September 26, 2014, 06:15:54 AM
Managed to get escrow integrated into the wallet interface. Still need to do a few tests on a multi-computer testnet, but you can expect a new client update tomorrow. To avoid the mess of having too many people not having updated when it goes into effect, instead of choosing a block in advance for forking, I'll be trying out using the alias system to enable it. Escrow will be enabled when I set a particular alias to "enabled". In case of any issues, it will also be disable-able this way. After it has been seen to be working for a while, future client updates will ignore the alias, and just keep it enabled.

Wow! That's huge.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: September 26, 2014, 01:13:30 AM
The only moves that I will commend with regards to emission are that if you don't like the emission, either fork and try to get people to use your fork or to just create a merge mined coin with a longer emission.

Just to be clear, that means that emission will remain like it is except obviously for what to decide for the final years OR that in case emission is changed we can always fork it and do whatever we want?

Oh, sorry, I meant with regard to increasing inflation dramatically at the current time, not the perpetual inflation at year 10 as discussed a long, long time ago and which was generally well received by the community. This I am strongly in support of, but a lot of my support for this is in the anticipation that it will secure the network perpetually.

That is a great solution. If I understand correctly, the goal is to allow Monero to penetrate general acceptance in it's current emission, and then tail off to an inflationary cycle for perpetuity during the general use everyday stage?

I would just like to revoice my concern that in the case of a 1% post-mine or block reward subsidy to devs, this general acceptance is less likely to occur due to the attitude of the general crypto community. They will all (rightfully) bash Monero as a scam if there is any sort of atonement to the developers, even if it is only to repay costs. While it isn't fair for developers to subside gains for whales, it is also not fair to jeopardize the entire project for the sake of the few (but important).
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: September 25, 2014, 10:38:54 PM
I am a (somewhat) large holder of monero, and I promise to dump every single one of the coins I have if there is a post-mine or otherwise dedicated portion of block rewards to the development team.

Ideally, the development team is non-financially motivated, but since they are, they should either back away from the project and allow volunteers to step in,

OR

Purchase Monero, and provide work on the project in an effort to boost the value of their investment.

The coin will never reach mainstream potential if there is a 1% block dedicated to the development team. Imagine if George Washington owned 1% of the USD that did not inflate, he would be a dictator of the economy surrounding the dollar.
