Then why not attack it instead of monero? What is your reason for attacking monero and refusing to allow devs to fix your exploit?

Hey,

They're the ones saying it's not possible.

So nothing to worry about right?

~BCX~

No,

I believe your persistence merits that at least you believe you have an exploit.

In their position, what could you say? They have nothing of substance to be worried of an exploit. "Prove there are not unicorns"

I believe at least you think you have a unicorn, and I'm worried there just might be a unicorn. In case there is, can you please, please, tell the devs so they can make sure we catch the unicorn?

Actually, I believe it was the Cryptonote/Bytecoin team that said it was impossible. Everyone else pretty much acknowledged a TW attack may be possible.

Yep I agree, this is an awesome coin.

~BCX~

This was in the NEOS thread.  Maybe we should all dump XMR and buy NEOS, another anon coin.  Mass market cap exodus from XMR into a $166K cap coin...man, that could run the price up.

I guess your sarcasm detection was set to zero.

This coin is so absurd I thought it would be obvious.

According to them, they've already caught it.

Quit stressing and get some popcorn.

~BCX~

According to whom?  I think they might feel like they've uncovered some potential issues.  You demanded forced evolution.

I don't recall reading anything indicating that the dev team was ready to start licking each others' popsicles and throwing a victory party.  Certainly, that attitude exists, but, shit, trolling is everywhere.  Hard to demand forced evolution of the user/speculator base.

So what was your reason for attacking Monero and refusing to allow devs to fix your exploit?

They claim they've already TW proofed XMR and do not need any help.

~BCX~

I'm starting to think this has much less to do with Monero itself than it does Cryptonote.

Any chance this is true?

Monero is a decentralized cryptocurrency and thus the devs do not represent the entire currency.

On behalf of them, I would like to pay my respects to you, and plea that you allow them to fix your expoit. Their hubris should not result in the failure of a potentially viable, useful tool for millions of people.

You said you were attacking before the dev team said that they applied some fixes.

Why are you attacking Monero?

Try this.

~BCX~

Its over.  TW attacks will never again work against XMR.

If you read the last commit on github, you'll know the whole answer.
ANN here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.msg8961211#msg8961211

XMR Dev team rose to the challenge of forced evolution in the time available.
They have crafted a polymorphic bitmonerod+client that adds checkpoints at will and with no dev team intervention needed.  Its a decentralized self-maintainable solution that scales as needed.  Even if you DDoS github, checkpoints can still be deployed.

Thanks are due to BCX for initiating the game.  I hope it was rewarding, even though he was outplayed, this time.

If there are also some other anon-busters, but that don't rely on defanged TW, they're probably rested and ready for a rematch by now.

You said you were attacking before that was said so how can something that happens after you say you are doing something be the cause for you doing it?

NewLiberty isn't part of the dev team.

~BCX~

Have they ever refused your assistance?  I'm serious.  I'd like to know, please show some examples.

I'm confident that if you had unique knowledge of something that could harm XMR, the devs would invite you to assist them to see if it could be fixed.

I might be wrong, but if not you'll need to come up with a better excuse.

Or maybe, just maybe, do the right thing.

Unless it's all just BS because you have nothing better to do.  If so, again, I'm sorry.

That is not the official statement of the dev team. Please reconsider what you are doing, this is not a healthy mindset to have. As humans, we are supposed to build things up, not break them down. It is our duty. Please reconsider.

Hi MoneroMan88  Grin

Again I'm being accused of being someone else.  I'm not.  I can't really prove it to you, but I'm sure some people recognize me from the Poloniex trollbox.  I'm not going to address this again, ya'll can believe what you want.

I have no idea whether BCX can launch any attack on XMR, like the one he is describing, or something else.  I can tell you that his behavior is childish and irrational, at least from what I've seen.  Let's be adults here.  It isn't that hard, I promise.

Price hasn't moved. I think to get any effect this time BCX needs more than just ominous words.

No cheap coins for BCX now without some real evidence.
Well, if you zoom out and look at 1 month you can see the 2 day dip during the "attack" but then it went back to the 1 month downtrend it was on anyway.

"We are just fools. We insanely believe that we can replace one politician with another and something will really change. The ONLY possible way to achieve change is to change the very system of how government functions. Until we are prepared to do that, suck it up for your future belongs to the madness and corruption of politicians."
