1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2024/2025 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: August 05, 2025, 07:02:17 PM

Am feeling Liverpool to win the game. So i bet on them this time. They clearly favorite as they have superior squad compared to the Palace. However, they missed some key players, but potentially to win the game. I don't wanna put so much hope to their new striker because he's still remain unproven. Only hope their new striker, Ekitike can help them to cook.
I believe Salah will be their key to carry the game. As long as they have him, they won't be losing to the Palace.
Looking at Liverpool's plans for next season, I also think they will win this final.
Of course, we shouldn't underestimate Palace, even though they're not particularly convincing, but in a crucial match like this, Palace can emerge as a formidable force.
I also don't expect the new players to deliver instant results, but seeing Hugo Ekitiké's commitment makes me confident he will assist Mohamed Salah in scoring the winner.
I'd undoubtedly bet more on this match because the odds are so good.
I do not think and I do not expect Crystal palace to do much about this match. Crystal palace doesn't have the capacity to pull surprises in this final, rather they will be the recieving end.
Liverpool is clearly the favourite as they have a more formidable squad than Palace. Besides they have things to prove this season. They have many expectations from us due to how much they spent in the market. So, they should start with this one to make us believe they are serious for business.
It is not good to count anyone out, but Palace being demoted from Europa league is a very big demotivation to perform.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2025/2026 on: August 05, 2025, 06:31:37 PM
A lot of Manchester United fans have been saying that the club is back to winning ways because of their last performance against Bournemouth. Manchester United supporters have gone as far as saying that Manchester United will shock everyone next season lol. I hope so, that is what we want, let them increase and tighten the competition in the league next season. We want premium entertainment.

No we're not back! Promising signs during the US tour games but our performance are not there yet. The both games against Bournemouth and Everton revealed that. Atm, we need a solid midfielder who fits into this Ruben Amorim's system, same thing with a central midfielder and goalkeeper. Until these positions are solved,  we will definitely struggle in the Premier League. But theni repeat, positive and promising. I also saw a recent video of Pep Guardiola saying he thinks Manchester United are coming back and that he likes what he sees.
Lolz, when you said Manchester United is back, it depends on what you meant. For instance, a team that ended the season 15th position and ends this in number 10, didn't they come back. They obviously did.
To be honest with you, Manchester United team seems a little more structured than last season with the 2 matches I watched this pre-season. But that is not enough to define them. I think Manchester United needs one strong midfielder to sit behind Bruno Fernandes this season and a little stable defence line.

Since Manchester United doesn't have an European competition playing, it could give them more times to train and rest to avoid fatigue. So, in all I am expecting Manchester United to play much more better this season.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2025/26 Season on: August 05, 2025, 06:04:18 PM
By the way before the Champions League, we have some entertainment. A UEFA Super Cup game between PSG and Tottenham...

Here is the odds for the winner. Nothing surprising first of all. We have already watched PSG in the CWC as well. They generally looked quite decent.

I don't think Tottenham players would be more prepared for this game. But just for fun, 4.00 odds look great though.  Grin

If we draw parallels, why can't Tottenham do what Chelsea did in the World Cup final?  Wink
At that time I reasoned like this: the odds on Chelsea are very attractive, maybe they will be able to dry out the game and hold out until the penalty shootout where they will be lucky, why not. And in the end it all ended with a quick victory for Chelsea in regular time  Grin
I don't even know what to think here. 22% is a small profit for a big risk, but perhaps PSG has drawn conclusions and the game in the Super Cup will be at a different level of readiness?
As usual, as I said between Chelsea and PSG, I will also say it here, even if my words are dismissed, it doesn't really matter.
  • This is finals
  • The last finals Tottenham played they won
  • The last final PSG played, they lose.
  • Both are European champions
  • I have watched Tottenham pre-season and I would say that they are more solid than last season. So, we might all be greeted with surprises. Although it doesn't happen everyday because PSG is a good side.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the only one reaching new highs on: August 05, 2025, 05:50:15 PM
Amid relentless market swings, Binance’s founder declares that only a handful of cryptocurrencies will achieve new all-time highs, advising investors to look for projects with enduring strength and future growth.

I have nothing against wanting to invest in altcoins. But I do believe that only very few and close to little altcoins will reach new ATHs. Maybe they will just rise for a few times but ethereum or xrp may not reach their ATHs again. There are other reasons why one would want to invest in altcoins like transactions purposes but I believe if you are hoping to see a coin reach new ATHs this cycle, it will only be bitcoin.
Almost everyone in the cryptocurrency market knows the power of Bitcoin. We all believe bitcoin including bitcoiners and altcoiners. It seems that we all know that bitcoin is the best and will likely not be overtaken by the altcoins. But I perceived a few reasons people still invest heavily in Altcoinstalks.
  • They believe that altcoins can easily make X10 which bitcoin will not make
  • They believe there is an altcoins season coming.
During the last bull run, people were talking about this bull run seriously to be an alt season. It is this projection of an altcoins season that is keeping people in the track and they kept believing the alt season is coming.
5  Other / Meta / Re: is this forum allowing known scammers and ban evaders to operate freely? on: August 05, 2025, 05:24:17 PM
Banning accounts of such scammers is going to put so much burden on the shoulders of the admins/moderators and even with bans they can still create new accounts and find ways to continue their old habits. Although, you're also right that they may need to buy copper membership to embed images in the posts but still that won't help the forum in any positive way.
It will be more easier to deal with a newbie account that was created for the purpose of continuing an act that resulted in the ban of their previous account than a high ranked user on the forum even with their tag if they are not banned. If they should decide to buy a copper membership account so they can embed images then it will obviously be their loss because the account will eventually get tagged as well thereby losing its reputation.

Do not be deceived, it is possible that some of the newbie accounts of scammers are being operated by well established members. So, there won't be any need to waste money in purchasing copper membership when they can actually send a merit from their established account. They can just acquire copper membership just to deceive their ignorant victims that they are official and honest. You know some newbies will think copper membership to be an equivalent of donators, moderators or staff (lol). It sounds funny but that's the reality.

About scam not being moderated. It's one of the smartest ideas of the admin. I wasn't comfortable with it some years ago but now I have thousands of reasons to support that.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 02, 2025, 06:22:07 PM

My honest reaction when I see this image: Meh, this is cheap.

Too much discussing about transfer in Premier League, La Liga and Saudi Professional League make we set our standard too high, 75 Million Euros is common in those leagues. But, the gap between Osimhen and other players fees is very big, almost four times higher.

I think whenever Galatasaray not become a champion in Turkiye, they will sack the manager.
What Galatasary and Osimhen succeeded in doing is spoiling the structure of transfers in Turkey. It is very outrageous. If you add the money of everyone on the list, it's still in the range of that of Victor. What happens now is in few seasons time, that league will be corrupted. Other clubs there will start spending extra-vagantly.
I hope Galatasary win their league and do well in the champions league, else they will be bittered to spend such a huge amount without anything to show for it.

In the other hand, I expected Osimhen to sign for 2 years, rather he went for 4 years. That is a long period to be in Galatasary, unless there are special terms in his contract that can allow him leave anytime even before his contract expires.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin eliminate local banks? on: August 02, 2025, 06:01:18 PM
I am now very convinced that the question of whether or not bitcoin will obsolete banks will not stop to be asked as long as this industry is concerned.

Op, can you briefly explain to me how banks resolve disputes in your country. If so, do you guys have court in your country? And what is their dut(ies).

Meanwhile, the purpose of creating bitcoin is neither for it to eliminate fiat nor banks.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2025/2026 on: August 01, 2025, 11:53:01 PM
Tottenham Hotspur football team performance was at top tier in this match because players knew the importance of this match and they did excellent job in this match when it was required and they made their defense strong and many players were ready to fight against Arsenal team because they know that is not small team and they could lose this match if they did not play seriously . But they should wire on their stats which was bad in this match but it should be improve in next matches and if they want to get good status in the society. The shots of Tottenham Hotspur football team were less in number and these were only 6 and only 1 shot was on target and possession percentage of that team was also low in this match which was 43 percent.

I wouldn't consider this match to be a decider because both teams may be experimenting with new strategies and players so sometimes unexpected things can happen. On the other hand, I'm not saying Tottenham is a weak team, in fact this is proof that they are also ready to compete well the question is how far will they take their place in the standings? we will see after the competition starts.
Tottenham played a different football from what they were used to last season. Wait! Did they have a new coach? I mean is Frank new... I'm sorry for asking, I cannot figure anything out again about Tottenham  Grin If he is a new coach, congratulations to Tottenham because they are going to contest favourably this year. They played solid football and I admired them honestly.

This has brought me to thinking those that will make top 5 this season. I was actually not considering Tottenham, but I am beginning to give them chance. Although, only one match cannot judge correctly, but I give it to them even more than my own club Manchester United.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2024/2025 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: August 01, 2025, 11:35:12 PM
Have you seen the update by Fabrizio Romano on Isak - Liverpool topic?

Ł120m...  Shocked  What an offer right? It's nearly €140m. A record-breaking sale it'll be for Newcastle if they accept an offer around here. But they are still resisting.

If they were the ones to sign Ekitiké then they wouldn't cause any trouble for Liverpool now. But now it's harder to convince them unless they find a replacement.
Football is just money money money.
What an offer?
What a rejection?
Why is it that Liverpool spends much in the market and they do not have correct timing. If you needed Isak badly, you would have gone for him before Ekitike. It's not resonating well that you got Ekitike and still spending much for Isak. Since Isak wants to leave, Liverpool will only raise the price a bit and Newcastle United will accept the deal. It's not every club that knows how to keep a big player against their wish. That money will do great things for Newcastle and hopefully they will get a replacement, even if it's not a perfect replacement.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is XRP the next Bitcoin? on: August 01, 2025, 11:20:09 PM
Another dump idea from whoever wrote that shit in the OP. I feel that person is chilling XPR, because naive people might fall for it. Bitcoin has always been the leading cryptocurrency since creation till date and would continue to do so overtime. Bitcoin is decentralized and is beyond censorship. XPR is just another shitcoin without any difference from the rest. I have heard a lot of coins becoming the next bitcoin in the past, but none of them could survive it.
It's not only about Op, all over the internet, there's this buzz about xrp being the next BTC. I don't really know where the idea is coming from but it's making waves. The truth is that there's potential for xrp to develop into whatever, but it will definitely take time and patience. It's not something that will happen overnight.
11  Other / Politics & Society / Re: When did you realize the leaders were not your setback? on: August 01, 2025, 07:10:57 PM
There have been concern on citizens who are complaining about bad government and how it has limited to them to become what they truly wanted to be in life. Must have heard of people saying they cant get jobs because the government dont provide jobs, they have less pay so they can even pay for vacation or staycation in a good resort. I have even come across someone who said, he would have been successful if not for the bad government in the country.

My question is, when did we realize the government was not limiting us? As a person we can write our own story, no matter the condition, I believe the opportunities are out there but we keep looking at every possible excuse and someone to shift blame on.

What do you think?
Well, it seems that you are yet to understand the impact of bad governance. Your mates in the European countries are miles ahead of you because they have a working government. A bad government is worse than hell. You will be alive and hoping but to no avail.
It's because you are privileged to be online and getting paid for freelancing job you begin to seem to forget the impact of bad governance.
Just be truthful to yourself, if for instance there was no bitcoin and Nigerians can't access this forum, will you be so proud to make this post?

I am a first class graduate but I regret wasting my wonderful 5 years in the university of a good country with bad government. You are a graduate I am sure, where do you work? Is there any government or oil company work that can be gotten without connections? Please and please, the bad leaders are the architect of our set back. In my state, the mother earth gave us resources that is big enough to make everyone in the state, including a new born baby to be comfortable. But today, another man from another state is squandering those resources. Think again Baba!

Pregnancy before marriage or after marriage, which do you prefer?

Ask the starving people of Gaza. Does it even matter?

Cool
It doesn't really matter mate.
It's only people who have drank water and drop cup peacefully that thinks the direction of Op.
So many people are suffering insecurity, famine and political slavery.
Topics as the Op doesn't even concern them.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 31, 2025, 06:39:16 PM

It's interesting to see the rumor about Donnarumma potentially joi MU. The talk is ongoing between his agent, and MU's representative. This most is most likely to happen considering PSG already signed Lucas Chevalier, and i expect this guy as Donnarumma's replacement. It will be great to see Donnarumma joins MU and displace Onana.
Nevertheless, his wage and asking price is the main problem for MU.
If Manchester United acquires Gigi Donnarumma, they'll be making a huge move. We all know the goalkeeper's immense potential. He is still young and has already won many important trophies. I don't know if the deal will go through, because his agent is quite demanding for his clients. Another problem will be selling Onana, Manchester United had invested a lot in him
Are you willing to see them to still stick with Onana as their main goal keeper? The better they terminate his contract or sell him, then recoup some money to sign Donnarumma instead of keeping him. Keeping a darksystem in the squad is one of their biggest mistake.
They can't rely to the Onana again next season or they will finish at the bottom again. They really need a capable goalie to compete next season.
Onana as a keeper is good, there's no doubt about it.
He is also a confident goalkeeper and helps the defence.
But as long as Manchester United is concerned, he has lost his confidence.
So, keeping him further is just like further gambling the team performance.

The best thing for Manchester United is to sell him. I have read some months ago that people are interested in him but I can't remember the club. There's no doubt, he will do well in any other team but in Manchester United, his confidence is gone and will hardly be rebuilt.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2025/26 Season on: July 31, 2025, 06:23:15 PM
It is necessary to spend a lot to be competitive on the market, it is the law and the rule that allows you to be there together with the big clubs that always want to win and excel, but I understand that for many non-owners it is not the right choice, and they tend to economize, but in England it has always been like this, I don't see anything wrong with it.
Each team certainly has its own reasons for spending money sparingly in the transfer market. Because each team only spends money on players in certain areas that are still considered weak, they don't need to buy every player if the team essentially only needs two or three players to improve their squad. So, the savings each team makes when buying players is perfectly normal, as teams don't have to be extravagant just to get the players they want.
Every league has it's own beauty and we cannot do without that. The beauty of English football is money and hyping. The hyping originated from the media and the England national team. If you base your judgement on hypes, you will end up buying a 40M player for 105M. The hype is real and that is why the flop is eminent when it comes.

Again, the performance of a club depends on the amount of money that they are willing to invest in the market. Some seasons ago before Pep arrived Manchester city, City was an average or a small team but money changed everything. That was long though, how about the recent Newcastle United that was nothing, but today they are well rooted in Europe all because of money. I love it when money is so involved.

Source: https://www.bola.net/amp/inggris/hasil-manchester-united-vs-bournemouth-skor-4-1-8b3707.html
did you watch the Premier League Summer Series match Manchester united vs Bournemouth? the match was very exciting right, because we saw Manchester united play very well because they scored 4 goals against Bournemouth. it seems that Manchester united has now started to make progress again because they can beat Bournemouth of course it is something good because considering last season we saw Bournemouth at the end of the season finishing in 9th place while Manchester united finished in 15th place which is certainly far different from Bournemouth's ranking.

...

As a passionate Manchester United fan, I was awake all through last night to watch that match. The match started by 2:30am, Nigeria time. So I was just awake all through the night. Initially, I was disappointed for not seeing Cunha and Mbeumo in the line up and they were also not in the reserve. I was longing to see how they play with the team but Amorim decided not to play them. But to be honest, Manchester United players were able to hold the ball and make decisive passes unlike last season that they didn't have any headlight.

It seems that Dorgu will be an important player for Manchester United this season because his operation from the side of the pitch was very impactful. Even if Casimero played well in the middle, I am not confident on him leading the midfield this season because of his age. I wish a good midfielder could be signed.

Another player that I missed was Martinez, I thought I would see him in the defence line. I don't actually know what was wrong with him and why he wasn't featured. I'll check that up...

If it is truly Which board will be good for hosting 'BTC related memes submission contest' ?, it will be fine in the Bitcoin Discussion board. But I doubt it will only be bitcoin related. This is because crypto memes are more funny when it involves BTC and shitcoins. So, this won't be only BTC memes.
17  Other / Meta / Re: Using Real Personal Emails vs. Invalid Emails: Should I Switch? on: July 31, 2025, 04:37:20 PM
Hi everyone,

I want to ask about are you using real personal email address on bitcointalk or invalid - temporary emails?

Should I also change to invalid one? For safety reason.

Ideas?
Simply create a new email specifically for the forum. This will give you the safety you want. Some people use their work email as the forum email, which is not totally bad if they can handle it well.

Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't like receiving PM notifications via email. I have this option set to "Never" I prefer to see it pops up on the top bar everytime I log in instead.
You may reconsider your decision. I have known some people who left the forum and it was in doubt if they just left or something bad happened to them. It was through forum pm they were contacted.

A topic by NotATether made me remember this board, and things related to privacy board are already being discussed in that thread. In order not to derail the thread, I decided to bump this.
19  Other / Meta / Re: Attack on privacy on: July 30, 2025, 11:55:41 PM
Anyway I just want to hear your thoughts about this.
"...if men has learnt how to shoot without missing, birds have also learnt how to fly without petching". Just as you have come up with a way to encourage people to run nodes. Do your best, privacy can never be defeated and decentralisation has come to stay.

It's okay in the topic board, but assuming the long suggested privacy board was created, it would have fit better there. Alternatively, you can use Service Announcement Board
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2025/26 Season on: July 30, 2025, 11:46:01 PM
I don't know what Arsenal has to do with all this, they seem like a rather mediocre team that can hardly reach anything important, I think it should be the other way around, in my opinion, but if they say it there is a grain of truth in it so, yes, let's trust them.
It's fine to believe in a team like Arsenal, but if you look at Arsenal's performance in the previous two seasons, you'll see where they went wrong. The team was consistently good at the start of the season, but often faltered towards the end. This has led to doubts about Arsenal, and Arsenal's lack of success at the end of the season, despite having reliable players capable of surprising players in crucial matches.
Arsenal has been a very consistent till for the past four seasons and they have never had a good trophy to show for their good performance and we all know what has been the problem. We have all observed how Arsenal will start the season very nice and even in the middle of the season there will be doing exceptionally well but towards the end, they'll fall apart. Many people have blamed their coach for such mishap but it seems it continued to happen.  I think the following were the problems;
  • Arteta's lack of focus on one trophy
  • Lack of good squad depth (good players are over used)
  • Lack of a natural striker.
I think the last problem has been fixed, let us see if this season will be different.
